D/P/Pt Shoddy Team of Teamness

Coloursfall

THIS IS HOW WE BLEED
Um yeah. So This is my competitive team, and it's done me pretty well so far, but help is always loved.

Sona (Yanmega) (F) @ Wise Glasses
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 4 Def/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Bug Buzz
- Air Slash
- Hypnosis
- Protect

My Starter. She's a monster, And I've swept entire teams with her. First Protect to scout for dangerous moves and get in a speed boost, Hypnosis if you won't kill it in one turn, or just attack.

GigabyteMe (Porygonz) @ Leftovers
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Tri Attack
- Substitute
- Dark Pulse
- Hidden Power [Fighting]

I just love Porygon-Z, and it has a lot of SpAtk. Tri Attack + Adaptability + It's huge SpAtk is deadly. HP Fighting for things like ttar.

Kashi (Celebi) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/36 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Leech Seed
- Recover
- Grass Knot

A wall, and a damn good one too. It's taken less than 10% for STAB's SE attacks after a CM or two.

Kuuzin (Electivire) (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Cross Chop
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Thunderpunch

Pretty straightforward, I think. He's exactly the same as the PBR Electivire I have on my Battle Tower team in Pearl, so I'm experienced with using him.

Jinkosen (Empoleon) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Aqua Jet
- Drill Peck
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance

He's actually a very good Sweeper, if a tad slow, but that's what Aqua Jet is for!

Jin (Bronzong) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/86 Atk/80 Def/92 SDef
Sassy nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Hypnosis
- Earthquake
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock

A wall. Not sure about Stealth Rock on him though, since he usually comes out late-game. :/

Standard - Personally i'd be tempted to replace Hypnosis with Substitute, and simply switch pokemon if you can't kill it in one turn. Hypnosis is a death wish. It's unreliable, and if it decides to miss then you most often pay dearly for it; not to mention that if the opponent has a Chesto or Lum handy, they can catch you by surprise and one-shot you.

Wouldn't it's base speed be a problem? I mean it's the same speed as my Leafeon after one boost, and things like Jolly*Scarf-Heracross & Timid*Roserade get the jump on me. Protect on the first turn is very predictable, and gives the opponent a free turn to switch in a good counter. Snorlax would be an obvious choice, and form the looks of it i'd guess that curselax would give your team problems.

Ice Beam is a decent replacement if you find that you don't use substitute as much as you'd like; I don't imagine you'd be using either all that much. Tri probably covers its fair share of pokemon.

Psychic-Steel pokemon will wall this easy imo, so a Fire type move would probably prove to be a better selection that Ice Beam.
In fact I encourage trying it.

Kashi (Celebi) @ Leftovers

To me it's practically just sitting there, stalling, waiting to eat a random SE crit and die. EV spread looks good, I'd use Energy Ball > Grass Knot, but that's dependant on how fat the pokemon are which you experience as counters.

I never feel comfortable using this pokemon without a speed boost or BP equipped. Don't let it get trapped in play, otherwise it's as good as dead.

Kuuzin (Electivire) (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

Standard physical set - It'll probably work well considering that you have more than one pokemon whom beckon electric attacks.

Jinkosen (Empoleon) (M) @ Leftovers

Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

Standard SD set. Looks fine I guess.. Probably difficult for them to counter, but it might have issues with pokemon such as Vaporeon, or hardy steel-types like Bronzong and the lesser used Magnezone.

Jin (Bronzong) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/86 Atk/80 Def/92 SDef
Sassy nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Hypnosis
- Earthquake
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock

A wall. Not sure about Stealth Rock on him though, since he usually comes out late-game. :/

If you're gonna keep stealth rock, then you might as well use it early in-game, and give it something like Reflect/Light Screen > one of the previous moves. Rest, explosion, block, recycle, CR, and heal block are always fun moves.

I'd Load this guy up with S.Def, and give him something along the lines of Reflect/Stealth Rock/Toxic; switching him in and out of play frequently(threatening to poison other pokemon), and causing the opponent to continually throw in counters(Poison types, snorlax, already-poisoned-pokemon, ect.) Of course, this would be more effective with wish-support.

I'd go with reflect > Light Screen, because the rest of your team looks more affraid of physical attacks. (Rock, flying, bug, ground, fighting).

Electric attacks(the majority of which are special), are countered with your electivire.

Comments? Tips? C:

If you're already using this team, then perhaps you can point out any major issues or flaws that you've come across. We might be able to help tweak it a little.

Thanks for the tips; I'll try switching up a few things when I get home (at school...) and I can post logs to show how I've been using it just so it's easier to see where my weaks like.

To do:
-Try Timid nature and sub on Yanmega
-Replace Sub on Porygon-Z with Ice Beam or a fire move perhaps
-Try out Energy Ball on Celebi
-Rework Bronzong a bit

Sounds weird, but I think you should put Heatproof on Bronzong. You have Celebi (and Yanmega?) to take your Earthquakes for you, but as it stands you have three Fire-weak Pokémon and nothing that resists it. I'd pump up its special defense too so you can take on things like MixApe better, as at the moment your best way of dealing with it is switching Yanmega in on Close Combat or something.

also, you could put Explosion of Bronzong (nearly always helpful) and move Stealth Rock onto Celebi. Calm Mind isn't really doing that much for it.

It doesn't sound too nice switching that in on close combat, but with a reflect up it might not be such a bad move, especially if Stealth Rock is up. They're not gonna leave a fighting pokemon (with lowered defence) on the field with a flying type. xD

As far as heatproof goes, it might not be a bad idea; seeing as most people expect bronzong to have levitate, and even then they have to take a wild guess to find out.

Did a few tweaks... Porygon-Z doesn't get any fire moves, sadly. :C This is how it stands currently.
