• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Landsverd Teardrop Station

"Ah, um, right!" Otto replied, stuffing a few loose papers back inside the portfolio with a grateful bow to Ghaspius. He paused for a moment with a curious look at Gladion's talon, as if he wasn't sure how he was meant to respond, before the Pignite had a look of realization and bumped his hoof against the chitinous claws.

"It-it's really something your party was able to face off against Lord Articuno--ah but, that's the heroes chosen by the light for you!"

"They're certainly toughies alright," Ghaspius replied with a chuckle. His tassel whipped to his hat as he gave it a slight adjustment. He wasn't quite sure if this was just a casual escort. "Whatcha got there, by the way?"

Otto glanced down at his portfolio and then put on a bashful smile. "Oh, just some paperwork for a community outreach in... um, at the museum." He briefly stumbled over his words, as if amending his thoughts midway through. "Ah! But, you'll be needing to back to the frontier soon! Right--this way." The Pignite gestured for the party to follow him back outside.

"Maybe-maybe you'll visit again sometime?" he asked, rather hopeful-sounding.

Although Ghaspius's expression remained as jovial as ever, the gemstones across his chest pulsed with a wave of red light. He took a long side glance at the others as he silently noted to look into that slip-up. The Mismagius then looked back at Otto and nodded.

"No doubt 'bout it; I gotta find out how some of them glowy tubes work!" He trilled as his robes fluttered in the wind.

Laura quietly gave Otto a small wave, and a stiff, uncertain smile. Heroes chosen by the light? This guy sounded like one of the ones really taken in by the myth, so to speak. At least Articuno hadn't been advertising the fact that their patron wasn't this 'Beacon' entity...

"Yeah, this was... a good introduction to your organisation, I think," she said, at an opportune moment. "I'm sure we'll see you again."

"You will," came the Saint's telepathic voice, as they stepped out of nothingness and into the clearing outside the station. "Hello again, Wayfarers. I have recovered the strength to return you to your adoptive hometown."

Laura nodded respectfully, and dug her claws into her palm, anxiety tugging at her brain stem. As usual.

"How do we contact you, if we need to...?"

"I'll contact you, soon enough. Have patience."

The towering bird's beak curved into a cold smile.

"But in an emergency, I imagine that patron of yours can muster the mental will to reach out and make themself heard."

Good enough.

"Thank you for all this, then," said Laura. "I think we're all ready."

"That is well. One moment, please..."

And then green conifers and cool air gave wave to midday sun and dust beneath their paws. Only a thin sheen of rapidly-sublimating ice on the roof of the Sun Stone told of the means by which they'd been returned.

The Wayfarers were home.
