• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Wayfarer Comms

... Bellatrix.

I ran into Alex at the jail while investigating the Drapion with Archie. We had told a few people in person what happened but had no way to inform the team until now.

At the time we knew nothing of him. Alex Xander attempted to pass himself off as a shadow investigator. He interfered with us and solicited us with the promise of advice and information. Betel could sense nothing off about him at the time, so he must be able to mask himself.

We tried to see what he knew. Then he threatened us, and claimed he worked for the 'organic shadows'. Powehi. And he claimed there was already shadows in us. In addition to what I heard from Mhynt I think he's dangerous. We should all avoid him.

But it would be simpler to discuss in person if you want to know more.

Very well. We can speak in-person when you are ready. Hearing that Alexander tried to approach the Shadow drapion is concerning, it makes me question his motive if he holds nothing but ill-intent.

...

Have there been any other encounters with him? Perhaps we can begin to form an idea of what he may be up to here.

Hey... this is Koa.

If you encounter the Zweilous known as Alex Xander, steer clear of him at all costs. He's very dangerous and can use shadow powers. We believe he could be trying to infiltrate Cipher for his own purposes, and he may have Owen the Charmeleon and Drapion under his control. Try not to antagonize or show that we know he's dangerous. Until we can make a plan together to confront him, starting conflict poses a risk to us and this world, and we may not be strong enough to deal with him yet.

...If you want to know more you can find me around town or at the library, I'll try to explain what I can.

Andre here. I have some bad news.

I'm at Founder's Square and I just finished talking to someone who was disguised as Gerome. I didn't realize it until we were done, so I unfortunately told him about a bunch of Wayfarer stuff, like, the expedition to Obstine Abbey in search of a source of Radiance or the one to Ranger HQ to discuss cooperation or the whole thing about the warp-points. I... also told him how the Wandering Light was coming to visit Sierra, which in retrospect was really fucking stupid and I shouldn't have spread that information so freely. You're all free to be mad at me for that. Anyway, I noticed that he wasn't leaving footprints like a tyranitar should, and he started acting really suspicious, and then he fled all too fast for his supposed species and left behind, like... a skittering, sliding trail. Maybe a lizard of some kind? I don't know. But I'm sorry. Really, really sorry. I can only hope the damage I've caused is limited.

So, yeah. I'm sorry. I really am.

Delightful. I think it's best for us to adjust any planning to assuming Cipher knows we're coming.

And someone should go to Ranger HQ and the Escarpa. Multiple someones for each place, actually.

Agreed. And I do not think we would be easily fooled, so these might have been very advanced disguises. The trail they left, though... It wasn't a Zoroark, then? What else could be disguised but leave such a small trace behind?

Do not blame yourself. We need to be more cautious of this new trick. And we should also think back to any times others may have behaved strangely...

...We have to be a lot more wary of telling anyone our plans going forward. And maybe we should have some kind of code or system in case someone tries to impersonate one of us...

Mew and Ditto can tranform, but the trail you described sounds different. Some ghost pokemon can, where I'm from. Doesn't sound like a Zoroark.

Betel do you know of other pokemon species here that can create disguises or illusions?

Disguises and illusions are something many species can employ, although only some have natural adaptations of this nature. Some are highly specific and situational, of course... but many Psychic- and Ghost- types in particular are able to manifest illusions or alter the perception of other pokémon.

Forlas is a diverse biosphere – any species you know of is likely to be found here! For instance, Ditto
are found in this world, though they are far from common.

I can help.

Nova stared at the ground, blinking slowly. The moment the realization of what Mhynt so casually revealed hit him, he let out the most unenergetic, "Son of a bitch."

In related news, yes, the owner of the billboard is a mewtwo. And an offworlder. And there's a good chance several of you have heard of versions of this guy from your worlds. If Team Rocket exists where you're from, anyway. Surpriiiiiiiise~

After a good couple of seconds, he adds:

... You can't see them, but I'm doing half-hearted jazz hands right now.

...Oh. We didn't all know that already. Sorry. I thought that one was already widespread, considering he's been... helpful... so far.

…What.

There’s a… a Mewtwo here?! But how…? And he’s—what?! No… No! It can’t… He couldn’t possibly be…?!

Countless contrasting thoughts began racing Silver’s mind at the same time, making it tough to filter them through completely. Though, it was still possible to hear the random “Darn it!” and a few… unflattering curses.

…Ugh! I can’t do anything from here! But! If he’s anything like the guy I know, you gotta be careful!

He’s likely a master of misdirection and psychological trickery. As in the kinda guy who would say something with his words, show something else with his body language, and think another matter entirely — those are his
real intentions. But since he’s a Mewtwo, one of the most powerful Psychics around…

Gods! Just… beware, okay? I’ll see to return as soon as I can! Don’t do anything stupid or reckless while dealing with that guy, or you’re gonna quickly learn the
hard way how a world of pain truly feels like.

Hey guys. So, like, I know a lot of us are making final preparations for Blaguarro and stuff. But I had a shower thought.

... Or a "bathing in the river" thought. Close enough, at least.

Anyway, point is: anyone else wonder why this place is called Terminal
Two? Wouldn't that imply there's a Terminal One somewhere? Should we, uh, try to keep our eyes and ears open for any evidence Cipher might have more than one base here?

I'd assumed it was like... the other end of a 'Terminal One' on their Earth. Right? Two terminals for a transportation system between the two worlds. Now that you've said it, though... Howls, maybe? If there is, then probably they'll either fess up to it, or there'll be documentation about it in their base, right?

Hello, heroic spirits! Can everyone hear me?

You should be able to!

Thanks to your efforts in connecting more Mystery Dungeons to our network, I can now perceive and communicate across the region far more reliably and clearly than before! In addition, any of these connected points are traversible for heroic spirits who are part of this network.

I should now be able to search the area covered by the rift anchorpoints for the legendary pokémon you have been seeking, the one known as the Wandering Light...

...

...

...

That is peculiar, and unexpected.

It seems there is a strong soul with a pronouncedly Radiant aura signature present in...

Frontier Town.

...Did you not look very hard in the place you live for a legendary pokémon, heroic spirits...?

Howls, maybe? If there is, then probably they'll either fess up to it, or there'll be documentation about it in their base, right?
That's what I'm wondering, yeah. I feel like we'd be more likely to get the former. That kinda stuff doesn't just get left out in the open... I think.

Right, a few of you mon went to escort the Cipher admins, right? Where are you going with this, Nova? Did something happen along the way?

Yes and yes. We were attacked by Alexander on the way and while we managed to successfully repel him with minimal losses, he struck Ein before anyone had a chance to react. All that remains of him is a hind leg that Ranger Sybil is keeping in her possession. The rest are secured at Ranger Headquarters.

We have also recovered two missing Frontier Town guards after the attack. It appears that they had taken the form of the shadow pillars that Alexander had summoned to attack us.
