Work Experience!

Rubber dinghy rapids, bro!
Hehe. Summer was rapidly approaching, and I hadn't sorted out any work experience. I was a bit worried, but luckily fate intervened. My mum has connections within the council. She had a chat with her colleagues, and I got meself a two-week work experience placement in my local library. Which is absolutely damned awesome. Seriously.

The work'll be hard; filing, clerical shit, dealing with book loans and stuff; but the library in question is amazing. It has more graphic novels than a whole damned comic store. Plus, arggffdg WORK EXPERIENCE YAY. :D

So yeah. Only obstacle now is to get my school's careers department to send a few health 'n safety forms, so that I can get it on my record. Shouldn't be massively hard, I guess?

Also, I seem to have become a minor celebrity in my year. The English department has started using my essays as model answers. All week I've had people come up to me and say "our teacher was using your essay in class". I guess I shouldn't brag and stuff but fufufufufufu. Makes a change from being depressed at my science and maths grades. :3

Yay! Hehe, I did my year 9 WE in our local library and it was great fun; the people I worked with were all lovely, the work was interesting without being too complicated (the only time library work was stressful for me was when I was the only one at the counter - and they won't leave you by yourself if you're doing WE), and best of all, when they advertised for someone to work there on Saturdays, I applied and got the job right away X3
Seriously, WE at a library looks great on a CV because it's a mix of everything; working with the public, dealing with money, working with computers, shelving and organizing... all really useful things to put on a job application for pretty much any Saturday/holiday work.

And congrats at your resounding success in your English essays, too :D

Update:

It wasn't. I was a little apprehensive about going to Careers, but they were practically begging to send off said forms.

So yeah. All is good. :D
