• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Jirachi. On. Wifi (ends July 16th)

http://www.psypokes.com/lab/events.php#nosmr2010jirachi Looks like Game Freak doesn't hate us after all! Jirachi is obtainable on all Generation 4 games* over Wi-fi from June 26th until July 16th. When obtained on HeartGold/SoulSilver, this will unlock the Night Sky's Edge Pokewalker course...

Rate the difficulty of each gym leader

I'm not sure how anyone can find Giovanni hard, with access to Surf and an abundance of Water-types. I don't think I've ever had trouble with him whereas I have had trouble with Whitney (if Machop, which you can only get in an in-game trade, is the only legitimate answer to her then it's hard to...

HG/SS Help with Chuck and Jasmine?

Well Flame Wheel's base power of 60 doesn't do much to Steelix's base defence of 200, especially considering its level (even after STAB and super effective). And Dig wouldn't even get STAB. It would be easier to just buy a Fire Blast TM (TM38) from Goldenrod City MegaMart for 5500 pokedollars...

    How do you "Clone" Pokémon?

Re: How do you "Clone" Pokémon? Note: It is by far the most tedious, unrewarding method of cloning. It's often easier to restart your game and re-catch Dialga than to clone it on the GTS (possibly slightly exaggerating it...). I've pulled off this trick once, just to see if it really worked...

    Best and Worst Attack Animations

My explanation: It's too epic for mortals to comprehend. Also, the game spells it 'Judgment'.

    HG/SS RANDOM! Ground-mono

If you're using Trick Room then you might want to make Claydol into more of a tank. At the moment, Claydol seems to be the most suicidal of all your Pokemon, with Life Orb and Explosion. If it faints too early then you won't be able to set up Trick Room for the rest of the match, severely...

    HG/SS RANDOM! Ground-mono

You'll want to change a lot of the natures, even if you opt for Trick Room. Flygon needs its speed so Jolly or Adamant would be better (or anything that raises Attack or Speed without lowering Attack or Speed). I think a better set for Mamoswine would be: Mamoswine W/Choice Band...

    HG/SS Air-time competitive lineup

Spikes and Stealth Rock is not redundant - it allows you to get lots of damage on the opponent when they switch in. They don't cancel each other out or anything. TBH Iron Defense is a bit pointless on Skarmory because it already has massive Defense. Your opponent isn't likely to stay in with a...

Have you already obtained these Pokemon, or is this just a plan? You'll want to change some of the natures.

    Black & White

At least it's a normal-type rodent rather than another electric-type one... I think all the new Pokemon look good - they look like Pokemon and that's really all I can ask from Game Freak. Actually, I don't like the pink one - I hope its evolution (if it has one) is better. EDIT: TWO WORDS THAT...

    Black & White

I actually kind of liked some of the newer evolution methods. Leveling up at Mt. Coronet was a fun way to evolve stuff, although it kind of screws those Pokemon over for future generations... At least it was better than just adding more and more (and more) items to the game. In Black and White I...

    Help!

Well, firstly your Latias is a bit rubbish. Mist Ball is very mediocre. Psycho Shift is only useful if you have a way of inflicting status on yourself or if your friends use lots of status attacks. Healing Wish is a bit useless because all your other Pokemon are quite frail, barring Milotic. And...

HG/SS oh noes mah hartgold teem

You'd probably find Chuck a little easier than Jasmine, because you have Butterfree who destroys fighting types. I would train Butterfree (in the water as Psybeam is super effective against Tentacools) so that it is faster than Chuck's Pokemon so that you can use Sleep Powder then just destroy...

Probably best to go with Ice Shard to hit Dragons after they use Dragon Dance.

    HG/SS Hey! Help Me. (Please?)

Shadow Claw is super effective against the same types as Night Slash but Weavile gets STAB for Night Slash so it's best to just drop Shadow Claw. Reflect is...interesting. Weavile can't take hits at all, even with Reflect so it's probably best to just drop it, although it could help your team in...
