To Evolve Or Not To Evolve?

Hey, well, I've been having a bit of a dilemma on Heart Gold. It involves my Riolu.

I got this Riolu at lvl 1 from my cousin (hence why I haven't nicknamed it). It's currently lvl 35, and is also at max happiness, and has been since around lvl 25.

Yes, TEN LEVELS of it trying to evolve, and it hasn't. This is because I've been stopping it as I can't decide whether I want a Lucario in this game or not. I am a MASSIVE Riolu and Lucario fangirl, but I can never decide between the two. I also have a Riolu in Platinum ("Curse") and a Lucario in Pearl ("Rio").

So... should I keep the way-too-adorable Riolu or should I get Lucario for Aura Sphere, keeping in mind that I'm gonna breed a "2nd Gen" team for Kanto (I'm currently on Claire)?

Have you been trying to evolve it during the day? I'm pretty sure that it has to be at max happiness during the day in order to evolve.

Personally, I'd evolve it because I prefer Lucario

Honestly, evolve it. The only Pokemon which you pretty much have to delay evolution with is Shroomish.

Scyther is the only Pokemon that can really hold a candle to its evolved form.

Riolu can get Aura Sphere, though, can't it?

Only from a special Pokemon Ranger thing. It can't learn it by level.
