• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Two years ago, I was a fat, thirteen-year-old idiot that randomly decided to join the old TCOD forums before the server reset. I posted in bursts to get my count up to one hundred, posted a stupid fanfiction that everyone criticised, then started a bunch of fights because I couldn't handle it maturely, and eventually became inactive before the server crash happened. At that point, I started to forget about the forums, but as I'm sure you know, I have recently rejoined.

Well, around that time, my dad made me play football. I may not have appreciated it at the time, but it was possibly the best thing that ever happened to me... I played for two years, but then I tore my hamstring during the offseason while trying to stay fit. (Well, relatively fit =/) I got a terrible burst of depression relapse, and I wondered if I would ever be able to run again. Just today, after months of sitting around moping and going to the doctor, it got better. I was lifting weights as usual, as I couldn't run but I had to do something, and I suddenly got the urge to run again... to go fast. I had never been that fast due to my weight, but I'd been able to keep up for the most part due to my highly developed legs. Carting around 180 pounds nearly as fast as 13 and 14-year-olds that weigh 140 or less when I was only 13 was hardly easy. So I went running around my neighborhood (which is conveniently a loop) and I was finally able to go faster than my usual jogging speed. I realized that I had been taking steps that were too large, which was what strained my hamstring. I worked instead on making my legs move faster, instead of farther, and I finally managed to recover some of the speed that I thought I'd never get back. I haven't felt so good in ages... I just can't quite express in words how wonderful it felt just to run again after so long.... It was like waking up from a nightmare. Football practice starts next week, and for the first time in months, I actually feel ready for it.

EDIT: More yayness! This post got me to a caterpie. xD

Heh... that's actually kinda funny. =)

Somehow, my extremely low metabolism has kept me fat despite three years of playing football AND basketball AND not eating as much. =(

At least I'm not as fat as I used to be. >_>
