Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

American Auto Industry Loan

I'm currently up in the air when it comes to this issue, so I figure a debate thread would be fairly interesting.

What are you opinions of the American auto industry loan?

Quite a lot of people get jobs from the auto industry but they need to be less wasteful and stop making so many SUVs.

Part of me wants to say it's not needed - we should be letting capitalism run its course.

However, another part sees the job loss and economical strain that would result in those companies not receiving a bailout. We don't really need less jobs and an even more terrible economy, do we?

I believe the companies are working on a practical, intelligent plan, I just believe they haven't been doing so long enough. :/ These solutions should have been planned back when the economy was halfway decent.

As much as I want to see someone actually pay for their mistakes for once in this country, I'd have to say I'm in favor. Unemployment's high enough as it is, and we need as many people as possible to keep the economy moving now more than ever. Hopefully this will jar them into making smarter decisions regarding what cars they produce, and that what the customers want isn't necessarily the best for the company.

That's good, at least. But it's stupid that it took them that long.
