Blastoise428 vs Gakidou (Ref: Negrek)

Okay, Puddle:

First: I want you to use endeavor, then smack Shino with a hydropump, then try to combine it with an icebeam, hopefully freezing him. If you dont think you can do a hydropump/icebeam combo, use facade, then a hydropump.

Endeavor~Hydro Pump+Icebeam/Facade~Hydro pump

Back up and Giga Drain, then a Dig. But really, it's not to hide or anything. You'll get back at that evil fish. Burrow under him, attempting to bury him under the sand. Then he's in your enviroment, so Giga Drain if you have an action left.

Blastoise428 (OOO)

Shino (M)
Health: 33%

- Damp and absolutely enraged. Taunted (3 more actions).

With a growl, Puddle bounds towards Shino, once more determined to bring the nincada down to his level if at all possible. Shino backs up, somewhat reluctantly, but that's nowhere near enough to dissuade the determined mudkip. Puddle lowers his head and barrels right into the nincada, knocking Shino over and smearing poison goop all down his underside. The mudkip goes on to wallop Shino with his tail and kick him around a bit, until he feels satisfied that the bug is feeling no better off than him.

While Puddle recovers from his exertions, Shino rights himself and scrapes what he can reach of the toxic liquid off his carapace--fortunately, he's immune to his own poison. Sinking his claws into the sand, the nincada sets out to reclaim some of the health that Puddle stripped away, streamers of green energy flowing down his legs and into the sand below. Puddle is taken by surprise as the ground around him erupts in tendrils of burning green light that twine around his limbs and sink beneath his skin, draining his energy and sending it washing back to Shino. Struggling against the giga drain attack avails him no more this time than it did previously, but the drowsy, achy feeling that accompanies the attack drains away swiftly as the tendrils fade, to be replaced by simmering anger.

Once again Puddle charges at Shino, though this time he has a much less coherent goal in mind. The mudkip lets the seeping agony of the toxic in his veins and the humiliation he's had to endure this battle overwhelm him and guide his actions as he bears down upon Shino. The nincada raises his claws in a threatening gesture, but is bowled over anyway as the mudkip smashes into him. Puddle flails and kicks wildly, smashing Shino's cracked armor and aggravating his existing wounds. Even enraged as he is, Shino is desperate to get away from the mudkip, but Puddle just keeps running him down until, at last, his anger is spent and he drops, exhausted, to the burning sand.

Thinking murderous thoughts, Shino painfully collects himself, then turns his large digging claws to their intended purpose, kicking up a plume of sand as he burrows into the earth. The desert sand is unstable and constantly shifting back to fill in what he digs out, but the nincada works hard to keep ahead of the backflow and soon vanishes from sight, the hole that he has created filling in behind him. Puddle, though, feels nothing save for a few faint tremors in the sand below him; though the nincada cuts a tunnel straight underneath the reclining mudkip, it closes behind him almost as soon as it has been opened, and Puddle doesn't find himself sunk.

Frustrated and in pain, Shino decides that he's fed up with this tunneling idea. It's time to attack! Turning back towards the surface, Shino digs up until he bursts out into the sunlight, claws flailing at empty air in a shower of grit. Puddle, lying about half a foot away, looks around in surprise as the nincada pops out of the sand in a hissing, scratching fury. Now with a target for his attack, the tired mudkip draws up another great blast of water--but Shino sees it coming and ducks back into what remains of his tunnel, the hydro pump that Puddle produces roaring by just above his antennae. After the great jet of water passes by, leaving Shino sprinkled with a light dusting of moisture, Shino decides that it might be wise not to go charging blindly into battle. Though he still harbors ill will towards his opponent, his blazing rage has burnt down a bit. Meanwhile, the burning sun overhead becomes somehow less intense, and the temperature of the sand's surface falls from unbearable to merely scorching.

Terrain Notes
The sunny day has faded out, leaving the arena marginally less warm and bright than it was before.

Final Notes
- Ice beam and hydro pump cannot be combined. The hydro pump missed.
- Digging a tunnel under a pokémon is not usually enough to drop it underground, unless it is particularly heavy or the tunneling pokémon unusually large. Additionally, digging through sand is more difficult than digging through a firmer substrate because it backfills rapidly, such that Shino's dig attack took more energy than usual (and was even less likely to drop Puddle underground, as any open spaces were quickly filled in). When the first dig had no effect, Shino's taunt compelled him to try and attack directly with the second one, but he missed.
- Blastoise428 attacks first next round.

Okay, Puddle
Just Chill for your fist two actions. After Shino uses Sunny Day, I want you to try to use protect. Feeling moderately more comfortable now that the bright sunlight has abated, Puddle settles down on the sand and does his best to relax. Though the toxic still burns through his veins, at least sitting down to rest makes him a little less nauseous, and he gradually grows accustomed to the heat of the sand. Letting his eyes fall half-shut, the mudkip relaxes.

Shino, meanwhile, crawls up out of the sand and decides to get back at the obnoxious mudkip with a bit of bravado on his own part. He brags to Puddle in his buzzing voice, claiming that the mudkip is too scared to face him and that he's an extremely poor battler, even for a mudkip. He elaborates on how much stronger, smarter, and better-looking he is than his opponent, and how much more likely to win. Although Puddle isn't easy to stir in his chilling state, eventually he begins to feel annoyed by the nincada's jabber. As time goes on, the mudkip becomes increasingly agitated, until he finally decides that he can't sit around and listen to Shino's prattle any longer. All traces of calmness gone, the mudkip staggers to his feet and glares at the nincada, unsteady on his feet and weirdly disoriented.

Setting off at a shambling run, the mudkip charges at Shino, only to trip over his own feet and land face-first in the sand. Chuckling to himself, Shino waits until the mudkip's confused face rises off the ground, then unleashes a searing burst of light from his faceted eyes. Shino winces and falls back to the ground, paws over his watering eyes. Blinking only yields a smeary, painfully bright view of the world, obscured by drifting afterimages. Still in an angry haze, the mudkip can think of nothing to do but curl up and bide his time for the moment, until he feels a little better and can finally pay Shino back. An invisible bubble of energy extends from the mudkip's body, encircling him in complete protection as he waits out his weakness.

Unaware of Puddle's protect, Shino is preparing to follow up on his flash with a much more damaging burst of light. The insect's eyes glow gold, and he raises his claws towards the sky, soaking up light and heat from the sun. It isn't as easy without sunny day's effects, but he manages, collecting concentrated solar energy into a ball between his claws. As the attack finally builds past its threshold, a thick beam rips free of the orb, rocketing over the sand towards Puddle. The mudkip shudders as the solarbeam hits his protect shield and wraps around it completely, leaving him temporarily surrounded on all sides by raging brilliance. As the solarbeam dissipates, so does Puddle's protect, leaving the mudkip exposed on the sand, and Shino furious that the mudkip is still in the game.

- I realized that I'd forgotten to turn on Puddle's torrent earlier while reffing this round. Fortunately, the only difference that this made when I went back and recalculated the last couple of rounds was to give Puddle a slight energy boost, which is reflected in the opening stats of this round.

Puddle, I want you to use Endeavor before the bug can get ANYTHING off. That will be perfect payback. After endeavor, use Facade, get revenge for him putting poison through your veins! After that, use Hydro Pump. If shino uses any grass based attacks, I want you to use protect.

No, no, it's fine.

Shino, right before the Mudkip attacks, use Faint Attack to disappear, then attack from behind. Then, still behind him, try to Fury Swipes him until one of you faints.

Puddle is more than eager to carry out his command and heaves himself up out of the sand, eyeing Shino with bleary malice. The nincada himself is calling upon his weak dark powers, a bit nervous and uncertain whether he'll be able to evade the mudkip's furious endeavor. As it turns out, though, he need not have worried. The mudkip staggers forward, sways, then falls facefirst into the sand. Shino hums happily to himself as a cloak of darkness draws over him, hiding him from view, and Puddle proceeds to thrash around on the ground, only injuring himself further in his attempts to rise. A thin double row of pinprick footprints crawls from where Shino was standing to the sand behind Puddle, and the nincada reappears, wreathed in burning darkness. He claws into Puddle's back, leaving red welts on the mudkip's already-damaged skin.

The pain gives Puddle a temporary burst of clarity, and he rears up, smashing a paw into Shino's face. Shino is taken aback by the mudkip's sudden anger and wilts beneath a flurry of blows. Puddle's facade is as vicious as ever, but luckily for Shino, this is the last time this battle that he'll have to endure it. As the mudkip's beating continues, Shino lashes out with his claws, scoring deep cuts in the mudkip's flesh. As Puddle's anger starts to ebb, the pain erodes what is left of his consciousness, and at last he simply collapses, out cold and defeated. Shino scuttles away from the downed mudkip, buzzing wheezily and only a small step from total collapse himself.

Hmm... Well, your screwed, Shino. Use Toxic until it works. Then Double-Edge until you faint.

Okay, Flicker, start out with a Taunt before that annoying bug can pull of that Toxic, then a sand attack. Hit it with a Iron tail. If he DOES manage to hit you with toxic, use facade in replacement for any on these moves

Shino, shaky enough as it is, is hardly encouraged by the sight of his new opponent. Not only is the vulpix that appears on the sand a fire-type and therefore a natural enemy, but the fox's abilities will only be enhanced in the scorching desert environment. Flicker himself blows out a lazy tongue of flame, releasing heat from his inner stores to keep his body temperature at an acceptable level; he may not be precisely at home in the desert, but the terrain bothers him far less than it does the bug.

Unfortunately, he's even less at home with his first command. The vulpix twitches an ear and stomps a paw in irritation; he's not skilled at taunting at all. He awkwardly throws a couple of insults Shino's way, but the nincada is less than impressed; rather than flying into an uncontrollable rage, he merely spits a mouthful of noxious toxins all over Flicker.

The vulpix recoils with a hiss, pawing at the burning goo splattered across his fur. His frantic attempts at ridding himself of the toxins are less than successful, though; the toxic attack rapidly eats through fur and flesh, leaching into Flicker's bloodstream before he can wipe it off on the sand. Furious, the vulpix leaps forward and prepares to take his revenge on the insect, blind rage consuming him as he lashes out with teeth and claws. Sand flies in all directions as Flicker tears into his opponent--or what he thinks is his opponent.

Shino flinches as the vulpix rips into the sand nearby, so infuriated that he doesn't even notice that he's tearing up empty ground instead of a wearied nincada. Unfortunately for Shino, the respite does him little good; after the toxic attack, he's so tired that he can hardly keep his eyes open, much less get a double-edge attack going. Nevertheless, he has to try: the bug takes a few stumbling but determined steps towards Flicker, then collapses, too spent to go on any longer. Blastoise428 recalls the fallen nincada, looking a bit disappointed, and when Flicker at last comes to his senses to find himself flailing at nothing but dirt, with Shino nowhere to be seen, he feels smug rather than embarrassed--apparently, his facade was enough to finish his opponent off entirely.
