Superbird
Fire emblem is great
When people die, they are generally sent to the underworld. God knows what happens to them there, but it's probably pretty terrible and it likely involves eternal suffering.
...At least, that's what most people think. For the departed souls, it's actually a pretty sweet life – you have nothing to ever worry about, and you can indulge in every indulgence there is. Way better than it was back when you were alive. And that's why you were all so angry when the Angels came.
The Angels, coming from Heaven and misinterpreting the underworld as a terrible place, were trying to be merciful. They saved your souls, returning you to the world of the living as ghosts. Of course, you can't interact with the world of the living, but the angels figure it's better to live there than in eternal suffering in the underworld.
They're wrong.
So, here's how this game will work. Everyone starts as a ghost, except for the Angels, which no one can tell apart from the ghosts. Each night, the Angels (the mafia, in this case) can use their holy power to bring one player back from the dead, turning them back into a human again. Consequentially, that player is unable to be affected by any of the remaining ghosts' actions. Unfortunately, due to those pesky anti-suicide laws, the humans can't return to being ghosts. But at the same time, the revival gives the human the power to communicate with the spirits; one per day they will be able to call a priest to perform an exorcism on one remaining spirit, either turning them into a human if they are a ghost, or killing them if they were an angel. In short:
There will, of course, be balancing to make this as fair to both sides as possible.
Also, flavor text will be selectively important, but that means it will also be selectively unimportant. You won't know which.
Any questions, please ask.

In short:
- There are two factions: The Ghosts (innocents) and the Angels (Mafia)
- Each night, the Angels must collectively kill one ghost
- When killed, Ghosts turn into Humans. They can no longer perform night actions, but they can still post in the thread.
- Every day phase, all the present humans, and only the humans, can vote on one spirit to have a priest exorcise (in essence, lynching that player)
- When killed, Angels will not be reincarnated as humans – rather, they will be sent back to heaven. They can continue to communicate amongst each other, but may not post in the thread.
- The Angels win when they outnumber the remaining ghosts
- The Ghosts win when the Angels are dead
There will, of course, be balancing to make this as fair to both sides as possible.
