Crazy Linoone vs Flora and Ashes

PichuK

They've locked down their fortress... with locks!
2vs2 single
DQ: Standard week
Damage Cap: 30%
Banned Moves: OHKO's, direct healing moves
Arena: World Civilization Classroom

A standard high-school classroom; you know, with the desks-attached-to-chairs. Unfortunately, though, they're still scattered across the room, and may need moving.

Every round, there is a 10% chance that the teacher will come in and watch the battle for a few turns. Every action, he has a 20% chance of scolding one of the Pokemon on the battlefield, causing the attack damage to lower by 3%.
Other: Well, seeing as there's no swimming room, you can't really have Pokemon that must be in water, can you?

Alright-y Crunchy my boy! Let's get this party started! It's our first battle ever, so let's make it a good one, shall we?

First things first. Since there doesn't seem to be much water around, let's start off with a nice, big Water Gun for super effective damage and get everyone wet a bit. Follow up with a Water Pulse for more damage and, hopefully confuse the target. Then, Water Gun again. If that Sandshrew uses Protect at any turn, use Double Team instead.

Okay, Sabure, looks like we have a bit of trouble on our hands, don't we? Let's try not to get ourselves overwhelmed too quickly!

Start off with a Double Team to make three clones. Then use Protect. After that, finish it off with a Slash.

Double Team~Protect~Slash

A large school sits innocently on the edge of a well-used road. This building is, for whatever reason, very quiet today, with no signs of movement or life despite its good condition. Crazy Linoone and Flora and Ashes are here to change that, choosing this unusually quiet place as the perfect spot to have a Pokemon battle. One of the larger classrooms is picked, and the battlers release their Pokemon.
Flora and Ashes throws a pokeball on to the ground, and a Sandshrew materialises. Sabure is disheartened to find that the ground she is standing on is very hard -- no digging for her. Crazy Linoone smirks and follows suit, releasing Crunch the Totodile in to the room. Crunch bares his fangs and jumps up and down, itching to begin.

ROUND 1

Crunch abruptly snaps out of his ‘dance’ and begins to react to his commands. He eyes down his foe, and opens his jaws wide. He releases some water from a gland in his stomach to the back of his throat, and spits it out with a decent amount of force. The squirt of water hits Sabure squarely on the forehead, making her squeak a note of annoyance – while it was slightly painful, it wasn’t that bad – it was more annoying than anything else.
Sabure gets down on all fours, and looks around the room for somewhere slightly more spacious than the forest of desks that the two Pokemon were released in to, but settles for just running around a desk. Her feet thump loudly on the tiled floor as she accelerates in speed to almost unnatural levels. When she comes to a slow, there are 3 more Sandshrew in the room, perplexing Crunch.

Sabure lets out a quiet squeak of concentration, and a transparent barrier with flecks of green circling it forms around her, and her clones follow suit. She smirks – she’d like to see Crunch try and attack her now!
A moment passes, and with the absence of any impact, Sabure looks up to see Crunch running around a desk extremely fast – much like she had – and coming to an eventual stop. However, there are now three visages of the Totodile’s gaping maw instead of just one – and that was bad enough by itself.

Crunch takes a second to extracts some more liquid from her water gland, much like before, once again spitting it out with decent force behind it, taking aim at the Sabure directly in front of him. His clones do the same.
The attack strikes true, as Sabure stumbles back, breaking her concentration and making the other Sabures in the room instantly disappear.
She gets back on her feet, irritated, but otherwise not too shaken. She raises her needle-sharp claws to the sky, and dashes at the Crunch to the left of her. She viciously slashes her arm down, only to have the Crunch dissipate with no harm done.

Aaah, I'm going to post now.

Start off with Slash, Protect again, then use Sandstorm if possible; if not, use another Slash.

Nice job, Crunch! We dealt some nice damage on that Sandshrew!

Let's start things off with a nice Water Pulse. Then, when Sabure is protecting, use Double Team to get more copies of yourself. After all, the more the better, right? Finish it off with another Water Pulse. Hopefully the area will be too wet from all your water attacks to stir up a sandstorm.

ROUND 2

Crunch lets out a quiet sigh. While the battle is in his favour, he’s not having any real fun battling Sabure, and she isn’t even that worried by his attacks! He tenses his muscles slightly, ready to attack the quiet shrew with something that would make her squeal and squirm.
He throws his head back, throat filling with liquid, and lets out a quiet gurgle, which breaks the eerie silence of the room. Sabure rears up and stares at this – what’s happening? Is he trying to attack by… gurgling? Her question is painfully answered when a pulse of water hits her stomach, wrapped around what seems to be the noise coming from the Totodile. She squeals and twists around herself, her brain confused by the odd mix of sound and water.
Crunch snaps his jaw shut, and smirks.
Sabure quickly regains control of her actions. The odd attack doesn’t seem to have any lasting effects on her. Shaking, she pulls herself off the ground to face the two Crunches that are in front of her. Her claws make a quiet clicking noise on the floor as she races to the Crunch on her right. She raises her arm and slashes it blindly, praying to hit the stupid thing and not have it disappear on her again.
And hit it does! She runs out of reach of the now-screaming Crunch, glancing up to see him cupping his hand over his eye, blood leaking from it.

Alerted by the loud wails that Crunch is making, a woman dressed in a well tailored dress steps urgently in to the room. She takes a look around, and realising that it’s only a Pokemon battle, she takes a seat at the teacher’s desk.
Sabure smiles with pride. She looks back at Flora, eyes bright and ready to continue the battle with confidence! She concentrates deeply, and once more, a semi-transparent, greenish sphere appears around her.
She glances up again, wanting to know what her wailing foe does. Crunch plods around at an almost laughable speed around a desk, trying to give his eye some time to heal, before speeding up to something acceptable. He stops with no warning, panting, accompanied by two more Crunches and practically burning with rage.

Sabure’s ‘aura’ of confidence does not falter in the least. She begins to dance, twists and turns, lefts and rights. She curls and uncurls, spinning around the room, a secret dance that would instantly change the weather from raining to a violent sandstorm.
She waits a few seconds, confused. The welcome feeling of sand blowing over her scales isn’t there, and the reason becomes apparent when she looks out a window. The outside of the building is battered by sand and grit, though not enough to break through a wall or window.
Crunch glares at the Sandshrew, pure hatred in his, err, eye. He imagines private fantasies of ripping her to shreds, her squealing and being humiliated much like he had. He releases more water from his gland, the sand outside providing the sound he needs for the attack, he skilfully wraps the water around the waves of sound in the room. He directs the water toward Sabure, slamming her on the back. She attempts to curl up into a ball, letting out a cry when she spasms uncontrollably instead. Unlike before, this continues long after Crunch ends his attack.

KILL KILL KILLLLLLL CRUNCH! SMASH THAT SANDSHREW TO BITS!

Ahem, right. Let's do something that will be really annoying to Sabure and watch that shrew squirm! First, Substitute so, instead of just having to worry about you and two of your clones, Sabure will have to worry about where the heck you are! Then, TOXIC and watch that shrew feel the pain. Show what you could really do! After that, chill for a bit and let your eye heal. Sabure will be in intense pain by then, feeling the toxic burn.... And that Substitute to get rid of, of course.

Substitute ~ Toxic ~ Chill

I should've elaborated on "if possible" there.

Come on, Sabby, hang in there...

Okay, use Double Team (2 clones) to start off, then Protect. Chill to end it, since you'll probably be exhausted.

ROUND 3

Crunch stares hatefully at Sabure. He doesn’t want to do anything that doesn’t involve making her yelp or squeal, but he isn’t about to defy his trainer’s orders. He spits a heavy stream of water down at the floor, though there’s something odd about it. It seems to solidify into a wet, gooey replica of Crunch, only completely blue and shoddily made – like a statue of clay melting in the sun. Crunch winces slightly as he puts some of his life energy into it, and it instantly straightens up. He then disappears into hiding.
Sabure doesn’t know what to think of this. It’s now obvious to see which Totodile she should attack – The clones didn’t do this odd manoeuvre -- but it doesn’t look very fun to touch. At all.
She tries to get up, finding the odd interference in her brain slightly weaker, but still lingering. She takes a deep breath, and takes a few laps of the classroom, becoming a blur. She narrowly avoids desks and chairs, and stops. There are now 4 Sandshrew in the room.
The teacher, meanwhile, glances at her watch. She gasps, and promptly leaves the room – time flies when you’re having fun, eh?

Crunch prepares his attack, mixing the slightly toxic chemicals in his body around to create something fowl, and eventually pushing it into his water gland. He has a hard time with this, considering his water gland filters unclean water, but he manages. He then dashes out of hiding, glad to attack anything that even remotely looks like Sabure. He takes a (literally!) blind shot at one of the Sabures, and it disappears without a trace. A small puddle of purple water is left where it was, however.
Sabure doesn’t really care about this attack – she already had her transparent, green, protective shield up, so Crunch couldn’t hurt her, anyway. Though, where is he? Small flecks of blood dot the room, but they only seem to lead in circles.

Sabure takes the last turn to think. What did she have to do..? Slash..? She is completely confused, and begins to run to the Crunch-substitute, ramming herself into a table instead, effectively making her clones disappear. Crunch sits and rests, thanking the heavens that he has time to let his eye recover. It stops bleeding, but is still very hard to see through. He feels more relaxed, but he still would love to hurt that stupid Sandshrew that’s been giving him so much trouble.

Well, since that Sandshrew'll be using Defense Curl, we might as well as use that time to Chill. Then follow up with another nice Water Pulse to smack Sabure to confusion land. Finish off with an Ice Beam to freeze the already wet Sandshrew.

This is going to be fun~

AN EXTREMELY LATE ROUND 4

Flora and Ashes and Crazy Linoone sit quietly in the classroom, wondering about the absence of their referee. Crazy Linoone gets up, goes to the outskirts of the ASB district, and writes a complaint about her battle.
As soon as she finishes writing her note and returns to the classroom, PichuK enters the room. She is covered from head to toe in apology notes, and gives them to both of the battlers. After they finish reading the notes (which all say "I am extremely sorry, I forgot") she pulls out her referee whistle and blows into it, signifying that the match will go on!

Sabure braces her muscles and curls in to an extremely tight ball. This action is second nature to her, and comes so naturally that she doesn't need to think about doing it. She gladly takes the time to try and focus on what she has to do next, and how she's going to do it. Her wave of confusion seems to have passed for now, though she's not completely cured.
Crunch, too, takes a breather. He is still feeling pretty ticked at Sabure, but his eye isn't hurting him as much and he is safe behind his substitute. He doesn't have to worry about much right now.
The sandstorm outside the class room comes to a weak stop, dying away as Sabure's hold on it lessens.

Crunch, once again, extracts water from his gland to the back of his throat. Once again, he gargles, carefully wrapping water over the sound. Sabure knows what's going to happen next, but she has no idea from which angle the attack will come from. Regardless, she braces herself tighter in her ball for impact, and tries to think happy thoughts, happy thoughts...
Crunch skitters out from his hiding spot and into the open. He releases his attack, and scampers off again before it can even hit Sabure.
The water splashes on her scales, and leaks through her defenses. She uncurls herself out of pain, jumps back an inch, squeaking to herself and is caught by the second wave of the attack. She suddenly lets out loud shrieks, not in control of her body any more as her brain sends the wrong commands to her limbs. She gives herself a minute to calm down, though her heart is racing and her breaths are short. The confusion passes quite quickly, but it feels like hours for poor Sabure.

She gets back up, and shudders. The totodile's sloppy substitute seems to be the only thing she can attack in the room, and it is downright disturbing. She lets a small amount of poisonous chemicals into her claws, and gives them a second to mix with each other to create a truly deadly mix. She takes a deep breath, praying for the best, and rushes straight at the gooey totodile and swiping at it madly with her claws.
The substitute gives no reaction despite having a gash through its middle, and Sabure recoils sharply after attacking the thing -- it's slimy and now totodile-muck is all over her paws. It's wet, too, which doesn't help either.

Crunch prepares his next attack with a huge grin on his face, watching Sabure flinch and move away as far as she can from his substitute. Perfect. He chills the water in his glands to extremely low temperatures. This, in turn, chills the rest of his body and his blood, which makes the water in his glands even colder. Below freezing. He jumps out from hiding and releases the water from his jaws, and smiles happily as it comes out in a sharp beam of pure ice. He retreats back into hiding, taking deep breaths and trying to get some time to return his temperature to normal.
Sabure is caught off guard when the attack hits her, and she screams in agony as the sub-zero temperature burns her naturally warm body. This intensifies as she feels her forepaws go completely numb. She glances down at them to see wicked, sharp ice covering them like gloves. Her arms sting and feel very heavy, like weights. She attempts to lift one up, but it takes a lot of energy to do this task. She lunges at the substitute while she still can, slashing across its body several times, and with great effort, she leaves 3 new gashes on its face and side.

Sabure winces as her arms suddenly feel colder and heavier, but at least she doesn't feel very confused any more.

Now now Crunch, great job. Let's continue our little barrage of attacks, shall we? Let's start with an Water Pulse, because I'm evil like that. Follow up with another Water Pulse. Then, use Icy Wind, and sweep it all around the room to freeze the water on the ground, not to mention to hurt that Sandshrew. The ground should be a slippery ice skating rink. If the Sandshrew uses Protect any round, just Chill.

Watch out for the Sandshew's claws though. If the Sandshrew charges at you and tries to rake you with its claws, fire an Ice Beam in its face, please. See if you can freeze it in midair. Or something.

ROUND 5

An all-too-familiar gurgling starts again as Crunch prepares his attack. Sabure glances around the room, shaking. She attempts to listen for the direction of the sound, wanting to be prepared at the very least. She turns around as the gurgling gets progressively louder, only to be treated with a horrible sight. Crunch stands right behind her, head in the air and water spilling from his mouth. Sabure has no time to react when he spits out his attack at point-blank range, throwing her back a few feet. She screams and flails in pain, almost cutting herself. She doesn't want to face her foe anymore. She curls up into a tight ball and silently mopes to herself while Crunch stands over her, grinning.
This alerts a teacher, who comes in to see what's wrong. She takes a looks at the scene and takes a seat, and begins to watch intently.

Crunch takes the opportunity. He darts around the room to a new position and taps his foot on a desk, for a change. Might as well impress the guest, no? He takes the process of wrapping water and sound together extremely carefully this time, starting at the motionless Sabure. He inhales deeply and spits out the attack. He doesn't feel very satisfied with the attack, though, as Sabure does absolutely nothing. No chase, no thrill. He looks back at Sabure, to see her twitching and making noise as she uncurls from her ball. She looks up pleadingly, but Crunch just smirks.
The teacher, however, is not as amused as Crunch is. She lets out a gasp when she sees the condition the poor little Sandshrew is in and yells at the Totodile.
"How could you do that to that Sandshrew? That's just wrong. I can't believe anything could be trained to be this savage and unforgiving! Disgusting!" She stares harshly at Crazy Linoone before shifting her gaze to Crunch, who frowns. Maybe the teacher is right. Maybe he shouldn't be so mean to Sabure. In any case, he's not as pleased with himself as he was two minutes ago. He darts into a hiding spot to think.

Sabure stops pleading, and gets back to business. She turns her back to Crunch's Substitute, and pads the floor, trying to kick up sand and grit into the totodile's eyes. She pushes as hard as she can, knowing that it's never going to work with the linoleum floor. She turns to Flora and Ashes, frowning and shaking her head.

Crunch comes out of hiding, and starts the turn again. He lets his throat fill with water. He chills it once more, below freezing but not deadly (by Pokemon standards, at least!), and slaps it around with his tongue to cut the fragile ice into a kind of powder. He then blows out the ice over the whole room, watching the puddles on the floor freeze. He does this half-heartedly, frowning as the Sandshrew runs to try and escape the freezing ice.
She's much, much too slow and the frigid air engulfs her. She shivers and squeaks as the ice on her arm is given a new layer of frost. Her arms are completely numb, and the synovial fluid in her arm joints is beginning to freeze.
She move to the side a bit, only to slip on to some of the ice and land on her side.
Chill? Is that some kind of sick joke? She closes her eyes and tries to calm down, anything but relaxed. She finds one saving grace in the fact that she cannot feel any confusion lingering in her head anymore.
