Flora and Ashes attacks.

Alright it looks like it's Jena's turn to shine.

Start off with a SolarBeam. Follow it up with an Needle Arm. If Umi goes underwater then use Sandstorm. If you used Needle Arm for your second action then use Sandstorm. If not then use Ingrain in the shade.

Solar Beam ~ Needle Arm/Sandstorm ~ Sandstorm/Ingrain

Oh dear, Umi, what have I gotten you into?

Well, start by Singing that darn cactus to sleep. Then, try an Ice Beam, and follow it up with Ice Shard.

Once upon a time, Pim was peacefully sleeping on a remote island. But not for long. A roaring motor drew his attention. The motorboat was anchored and a gorgeous young lady, wearing a bikini, swam towards the beach. He learned her name was Flora and Ashes. When he was about to ask what she was doing here, a second motor became audible. After securing the boat, OrngSumb jumped out and, too, swam to the island. Before he knew it, he was elected referee, even though he had not been in over a year.

Flora and Ashes tosses her pokéball. “Umi, go!” The red light of the pokéball faded and a majestic Lapras appeared into view. Umi stretched her neck and seemed to be happy about her ability to move again. After OrngSumb checked out his opponents choice, he knew what his would be. “Jena, I choose you!” A walking cactus darts out of the pokéball. Jena, the Cacnea jumps enthusiastically, until she registers her orders. Meanwhile Flora and Ashes gave Umi instructions and both get started.

Umi collects her breath and bursts out in a beautiful song. Flora and Ashes has her ears covered, but Pim is a bit slow on the uptake and only realizes the beauty of this song. As he collapses, Jena starts to collect solar energy. With the sun shining bright, this is an easy feat and soon Jena is fully glowing. The moment she notices she reached the maximal capacity, she concentrates the energy in her mouth. Umi watches with amusement, wondering what would follow next. She gets her answer when Jena releases the energy, which concentrates in a strong beam. As the beam hits Umi and the pain explains that Jena was not just playing.

Displeased by failing to harm Jena, Umi starts to collect some of her own energy. The freezing energy forms a blue ball in her mouth and quickly speeds out in a beam, similar to Jena’s earlier attack. The difference between the two is that the latter was boiling and green, this one is blue and freezing cold. The thin crust of ice forming on Jena’s body manages to hurt her quite severely, but the strongly shining sun quickly melts it. Jena jumps up and darts to Umi. She draws her right arm back and smashes it into Umi, scratching her front.

While pained by the attack, Umi knows her next move will hurt Jena, so she can return the favour. Because her mouth is still freezing cold, it takes hardly any effort to have her glands create some water, which instantly freezes over. Before Jena even realizes she is being attacked, Umi spits the tiny piece of ice out and it flies through the air. The ice hits Jena straight in the face and she shudders as she is getting quite cold, despite the strongly shining sun. Lena retaliates by raising both her arms and closing her eyes. Suddenly, a strong wind picks up the sand onto the beach, whirling it around both pokémon. The sun is blocked out and Umi is clearly less comfortable with this new turn of events. A bit of sand hits the referee in the face, waking him, realizing something is expected of him. “Flora and Ashes attacks first.”

Alright, Umi, you're doing pretty well!

Start off by using Confuse Ray. If it works, use Body Slam; if not, try confusing it again. Then just finish it off with another Ice Beam.

Alright Jena that round was amazing.

Start off with a Sand Attack right at her eyes to stop that Confuse Ray. After that I want you to use Grass Knot on Umi. To finish it off aim a Thunder Punch right at her face.

Wondering what it is with battles on islands and getting abandoned by the ref for him to deal with, Mike arrives to finally get this thing moving. The trainers and Pokémon, glad to finally have something to do other than just sit there hoping for a ref, try to remember their commands and the battle gets underway.

Happy to get back to battling again, Umi turns to her opponent and fixes her with a stare before making her eyes glow a brilliant white. Jena stares back at the light in amazement as it flashes all sorts of brilliant colours, fascinating the Cacnea with its beauty and lingering in his mind long after it fades. Trying to concentrate on the battle, Jena sweeps her hand down to grab a fistful of sand. However, when she brings her hand up to hurl the sand the mysterious lights flare up and blind her. Unable to concentrate on the battle, she hits herself square in the face by accident. She grumbles at the pain and embarrassment as Umi looks on smugly.

Still smirking at her opponent's comical failure, Umi drags herself across the sand with her fins toward Jena. Despite the fact that she moves very slowly, her size means Jena's attempts to run away are in vain; the Lapras pushes herself into the air before bringing all her weight down on the Canea's head. Jena screeches and struggles out from under the behemoth, growling angrily. She slams her hand against the floor, and a vine sprouts up from the ground and tightens around Umi's fin. The Lapras cries out in alarm as it tangles around her limbs, before quickly shrinking back into the ground and pulling her down with it. She hits the ground with an enormous impact and roars in pain, struggling to right herself again.

Umi growls furiously. Opening her mouth, she reveals a bright, shining blue orb of light. She points her head at Jena and lets out a half-song, half-roar as it focuses into a freezing cold beam and fires across to the Cacnea. Jena just has time to hold her arm up to block the freezing beam before it hits, and she cries out in pain and shock as the beam solidifies the arm and some of her body in a crust of ice. Jena shivers- she's able to move, but not easily. The arm on her unfrozen side crackles with electricity, and she sprints across the arena, dragging her frozen arm, and socks Umi in the face. The Lapras growls as the electricity courses through its head, and growls angrily as Jena limps back across the arena dragging her frozen arm. A minute later the sandstorm flares up, whipping sand around the arena and blowing into Umi's numerous wounds, irritating them further and causing further irritation.

Final Notes
- Jena was confused on the first action and hurt herself.
- Ice Beam froze Jena's arm. Until she thaws, that arm will be much more difficult to use and all actions requiring her to move it will take up extra energy.
- being frozen and needing to leap up to Umi's face, Jena used more energy than usual for Thunderpunch.
- ugh why do I feel I've gone wrong somewhere
- OrngSumb attacks first next round.

Panting slightly, Umi lifts her head, opening her mouth to reveal another cold, blue orb. Dragging the lump of ice behind her, Jena attempts to run out of the way but is unable to move in time; the beam hits her full force, knocking her back across the arena. Growling, Jena gets up and sprouts roots from her feet. She raises a leg to stab these into the ground when the colours in her head flash up again, distracting her, and she accidentally sinks them into her other foot. Screeching in pain, Jena withdraws the roots back into her body and grumbles in annoyance.

Still worn out, but cheered up by the fact that she's so far ahead, Umi fires another freezing beam at Jena. The Cacnea is once again unable to escape it, and can only yell in pain as the beam blasts her in the face. She slumps forward and pants in agony and exhaustion... she definitely can't keep this going much longer. Hundreds of her quills shoot out, sticking into the sand in front of Umi and pointing out dangerously.

Umi smiles. Well, that's no problem. Confidently, she opens her mouth at Jena and fires a beam of frost for the third and final time. Jena takes the hit and immediately collapses with a long moan of exhaustion. The ice melts off her arm immediately and she lies unconscious on the ground. Umi lets out a victorious, joyful sing-roar, until the Sandstorm whips up again, tearing at her wounds and killing her mood just slightly.

Ah, a Ralts. Let's see what we can do. Well, I say Confuse Ray first; I don't believe Sychronize works with confusion, does it? If it doesn't work, keep using it until it does. If it works first, Body Slam then Ice Beam. If it doesn't work till the second action, still use Ice beam.

Recalling the fainted Jena, OrngSumb pulls out a fresh Pokéball and releases Jorge, the Ralts. Trying to keep the sand out of his eyes, he looks up at Umi, intimidated at first by her size but reassured by the fact that she seems to be on the way out already. Waving his flag, the referee begins the fourth round.

Muttering in pain and exhaustion, Umi peers through the sand at Jorge. Making out his figure, she projects a brilliant, flashing beam from her eyes that cuts through the sand, beaming into his eyes. However, before the beam reaches its target a flash of white appears in front of Jorge; it grows opaque and blocks the beam, and a few seconds later Umi gives up with a disappointed grumble.

Disheartened, but not defeated, Umi tries again, forming another kaleidoscopic beam and shooting it towards Jorge; another flash, and a solid, obfuscating wall of energy forms in front of the Ralts. The beam connects, flashing every colour of the spectrum but not piercing the barrier. With an infuriated growl Umi cuts off the beam, looking daggers at the Ralts. What kind of battling is this?

Determined, Umi fires off the beam again a third time, growling in tenacious anger. As the ray shoots towards him, Jorge tries to raise his screen a third time; however, it is not no avail. The energy he puts up simply fizzles and dissipates, and he cries in desperation, trying to force it to solidify; however, the ray cuts through the haze and beams directly into his eyes. Jorge watches in fascination as every colour of the spectrum flashes into his retina. When the beam cuts off, the beautiful colours are still dancing in his vision, flashing up at random rather distractingly. That'll show the coward, chuckles Umi. Suddenly the wind picks up and blows the vortex of sand into a frenzy, tearing at both battlers' skin.

Wait a minute, since when does Ice Beam cause Confusion?

I think you got it confused with Aurora Beam.

EDIT: Wait again, Aurora Beam doesn't cause confusion either o.o

I don't even know what you did.
