.: Full Metal Cookies vs moon-panther :: Round One :.
3v3 Single
Set
DQ: 7 Days
Damage Cap: 35%
Restricted Moves: OHKOs, Attract, Weather moves
Arena: The Barn of 1,000 Kitties
The battle takes place in a huge barn, filled with hay, tools, and other barn-things. All the objects (tools, machines, ect) have been shoved into the corners to give the battlers room. The floor is dirt, but covered with a layer of hay. The roof overhead negates any weather moves, so they are not permitted here. There are two ‘shelves’ high up, one over each end, filled with more hay. But that’s not all they’re full of…
The barn houses 1,000 cats, and all of them are gathered on these shelves, eyes gleaming from the darkness eerily. If any of the battlers happen to take a glance at these cats’ gleaming eyes, they are Intimidated as per the ability.
Kusarigamaitachi, Full Metal Cookies, and moon-panther all groan in unison, having finished moving all of the tools and machines to the corners of the barn themselves. This is made all the more difficult because neither of the battlers are willing to use and potentially tire out their pokémon right before the match. Strange noises and eerily staring eyes from the shelves, have frayed the nerves of all involved, but as the shelves don’t appear to be about to hamper the battle at all, they won’t bother clearing it, either.
The hay covering the floors, all agree as rain patters against the roof above, don’t need to be moved. Even the pokémon, much shorter than the trainers, won’t be too bothered by the hay, and the only real problem it poses is a potential fire hazard.
The referee takes a while longer to find a clipboard with all of the relevant information, by which time both battlers have had time to rest a bit. It hands each a sheet of paper, which may be useful for their planning, and reads its identical sheet aloud, declaring the pokémon the trainers have on them at the moment. Neither has any objection, so they move on to shaking hands and walking toward the ends of the barn. Two shelves filled with rows of gleaming eyes are bolted to the walls behind each trainer, allowing both to see the cats on the opposite trainer’s wall. It’s intimidating, to be certain, but they aren’t here to be frightened.
As usual, Kusarigamaitachi declares the rules, and flips a coin in the air. Both battlers watch the coin fall with bated breaths, knowing the outcome will determine the all-important battle order for the rest of the battle. Solemnly, Kusarigamaitachi reveals that moon-panther will send out her pokémon first, and declares the beginning of the battle.
moon-panther immediately goes for one pokéball on her belt, halfway through telling everyone who it is and just about to throw the pokéball when she suddenly stops, nervously looking above Full Metal Cookies’s head and realising how dangerous this could be. She mutters to herself, returning the pokéball to her belt and picking up another one. She seems less sure of this choice, but nonetheless throws the pokéball. A ralts materialises near the centre of the barn’s floor, looking around. Out of her peripheral vision, she notices something, and looks up – only to be faced with five hundred pairs of gleaming eyes. She shivers, looking away.
moon-panther may have evaded a certain fate for now, but she knows that she’ll have no choice but to send out her pidgey eventually, unless she manages to defeat all three of Full Metal Cookies’s pokémon with only two of her own. And Full Metal Cookies doesn’t intend to allow that to happen. She grins as a sandshrew materialises in front of the ralts, also looking around. The sandshrew too notices the cats opposite her and feels a pang of fear, but Full Metal Cookies’s voice brings her mind back to the battle. moon-panther counters with her own orders, just as determined and confident (especially with a victory against this very opponent under her belt), prompting both pokémon to leap into action.

… or at least, they’d be leaping if they had less passive initial orders.
Spork and Ming both close their eyes at roughly the same time, concentrating. While Ming retreats into her mind and looks as if she’s just going into a trance, Spork’s entire body glows green. The light brightens, and grows away from Spork’s body. Oddly Spork herself doesn’t look green; she’s simply surrounded by a green aura that allows others to see her perfectly clearly. Ming doesn’t have similar special effects, as all of her meditation is done internally. However, when she opens her eyes again, she looks much calmer, and her mind is clear of any distractions.
Spork, opening her eyes, barely gives Ming a glance before closing her eyes again and spinning on the spot, performing a strange dance. The movements themselves, rhythmic and enthralling as they might be to watch, help Spork focus, warming up her muscles. She, too, meditates as she dances, but unlike Ming, she focuses on her body and surroundings rather than her mind. She becomes more aware of how to place her feet and move her claws. With a last jumping twirl, she lands facing Ming and opens her eyes.
She is surprised to see a second ralts standing by Ming’s side. This impressive likeness of Ming, created when Ming shaped her psychic energy into something solid, was constructed while she danced, and she’s a bit embarrassed to have missed it. She won’t miss what Ming does next, though; she watches Ming to try to figure out if the ralts erected a shield.
Ming rewards Spork’s attention by lowering her own body temperature, and then breathing at Spork with as much force as her lungs can muster. The freezing blast of air washes over Spork, making her shiver. Somehow, the cold makes it harder to move, although she doesn’t see anything on her body. Her claw is covered by a dark aura, which creeps up her arm and covers the rest of her body, shrouding her in shadows – though strangely, her green aura remains intact. She suddenly disappears from sight, leaving Ming to just wonder where Spork might be. Ming isn’t too worried, though, knowing her substitute will protect her from harm.
Spork suddenly reappears in front of Ming, blackened claws raised threateningly. As Spork brings her arm down, however, Ming disappears and is immediately replaced by the false ralts. Spork’s claws tear into the ralts’s body easily, leaving behind three large gashes outlined in black. The darkness eats into the substitute’s substance, and Ming winces as she watches this. She’s glad to have escaped that slash – it looks nasty and painful.
