FR/LG Growlithe and the Fire Stone

Uhh, just a quick question. At what level should I give my Growlithe the Fire Stone? It is currently Lv. 30. I don't care about IVs and EVs or whatever. Halp? ;D
 
Level 49 exactly. Gets you both Flamethrower and Extremespeed without fiddling with mushrooms.
 
I figured that's what it should be, but I just wanted to make sure. xD; Do you think that Growlithe will be able to make it to that level without getting owned in every battle?
