• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Open Magnate Apocalypse

((^safego: Not magnate, daeva, amirite? :o))

Ruya came to an uneasy, trotting halt as the humans and Daeva disappeared into.. the rocks? Ground? Garbage? She turned to the Anglus and nodded, giving the formation in the distance an odd look.

"Yes, I saw that... But for sure, those figures were human, or some very, very humanoid Daeva. Still, we should keep our eyes on the point where they've disappeared, and try to see if there's somewhere we can enter, or figure out what happened.." Sniffing the air, Ruya shook her head, and blinked.

"I may or may not be able to scent the humans out, so we should keep moving. At least to figure out how they disappeared." Nodding again, Ruya bounded forwards, noting that the Daeva hadn't been completely able to keep up before, and slowed down considerably for him.

Fae circled in the air. What was quite interesting was that quite a few daeva were moving in one general direction. She plummeted to land nearby, eyes narrowing as she looked around. She didn't bother saying anything to the group, and had even arranged that, while she was in sight, she was far enough away that she could unobtrusively eavesdrop. Lashing her tail, she watched carefully - whatever they were doing, she wanted to observe, but not take part, not until she had a full idea of what was going on.

((Shortshort))

James had been searching for a few minutes, rather unsuccessfully, for something he could posses in order to give chase to the humans. He hardly considered following them in his natural form an option. It was just too dangerous. Anyway, he might find something he could move faster in.

Wary as always, James couldn't help but notice that there were at least two other Daeva following the commotion, and possibly a third. He thought he'd caught a glimpse of something in the air, but he wasn't sure. I wonder if they're in on this? Or are they just as confused as I am?

James stopped searching for a moment, lost in thought. Where did they come from? What could drive them to capture a Daeva? They know, presumably, how powerful some are. Why would they chance something like this? For that matter, why didn't the Verminus fight back? They've been risking their lives to get this Verminus, and for what? To anger the Magnate? Because this definitely will.

Suddenly, James' eye caught what he could barely recognize as a bicycle among the rubble. It was old, rusted, and dented, but didn't look to be in too bad a shape. James picked up the bicycle and examined it. The chains are missing, but it looks okay for now. If I can do this right I'll be able to go pretty fast.

James looked up and saw the other Magnates had pulled ahead a ways. He looked for the humans, but he couldn't see them. They must have gone over a ledge or something. I'd better hurry if I want to catch up with them. With this, James concentrated, and let his powers flow through him, holding onto the bike. It seemed to slowly absorb James' body until it had completely disappeared.

The bicycle dropped to the ground, landing on it's side. It was now a slightly darker color, and glowed slightly. Shifting a bit, the bike swiveled it's front wheel and flipped into an upright position. Wavering for a second, it began to roll forward.

Hm, good enough. It's hard to balance it, but it's very smooth, and I can tell it will go fast. James, now possessing the bicycle, gathered speed and started making it's way towards the other Daeva.

((Sagefo, you flatter me but I am NOT a magnate. Hint, hint! Maybe your Magnates would like to know of the appearance of humans? Thank you for notifying me Dragon! :D))

((wut. How do we even know about the Magnates, then, let alone been receiving orders from them, when they're halfway across the planet?))

((You receive order through the grapevine of Daeva all over the planet, and how the hell do you think you would become a Daeva unless you met them. If you ask the Magnates, you should know of nothing but them.))

((Minnow, every time you ask a question the RP goes inactive. D:))

The humans returned just as Haerith regained full control of his body. He kept laying down, in case the humans took him getting up as a sign of hostility. The female looked down on him and said, "Can you move yet?" Haerith nodded and got up. It was the first time he stood in front of a human as a daeva, and until then he had not realized quite how much he had grown. Luckily he had underestimated the height of the ceiling, and he was able to stand on his hind legs. "Follow me," the girl said, and Haerith did so. After walking down the long metal hallway for a while, the man with the girl looked back and said, "Do you talk, or did your Magnate take that away too?" Haerith was offended. "I can speak perfectly," he said, "I just chose not to. At first I thought you might have wanted to kill me, but if you trust me to move, then obviously not." The girl giggled. The man was scowling. The girl turned, extending her hand towards him him. "I'm Barthelle. Your name is?" she asked. He shook her hand, and said, "I am Haerith." Her face lit up. "The famous engineer? I was such a big fan of your inventions. I even made my own solar conversion unit when I was a little girl." She looked up at his arm and said, "Looks like even in this time, you continue making things that help you." As they finally reached the end of the hallway Haerith heard a voice say, "Which is mostly the reason you are here."

((I think you will like the little twist in the plot, but if you want to see it, you must go report to your Magnates. I will be doing Xask, and Kali will do Okhai, but the other Magnates (with Rpers as underlings) are not assigned yet, so if you want to play the role of a Magnate that is not yours! PM me, or leave a Visitor message.))

((Where's a phoenix down when you need one? This thread needs one badly.))

Garth was nervous. His first mission, and he had no intention of getting killed. There was one Daeva Lupus looking very confused at his companions' disappearing. But there was another with her. He signaled for Antonio to follow up behind him. Together they sneaked up on the two Daeva, and pushed the needle into their veins. Once they had stopped thrashing, they proceeded to put bags over their heads.

Fae snorted. She still had no idea of what was going on... And maybe it was better to report what she had seen, confusing as it was, to her Magnate before she went any further. Maybe Okhai would know something about it. Besides, it didn't concern her... Reporting and learning what she could was far better than flying into a trap, or into a situation she couldn't control. Spreading and flapping her wings to break out of her endless circling, she turned and made her way back to where she knew the Magnate was waiting.

((*dumps Life Bottle and a Continue from SSB* This good? x3))

((Hope you don't mind the bump?))

Ruya caught the faint scent of human, but that was expected, since she was standing not too far from a- ohwhatholycrap..! Ruya flailed and clawed behind her as something sharp stuck into her, and for a moment, she thought it was the other Daeva before realizing there were two humans right close by. It was a while since she'd seen a normal face, and Ruya thought for a moment about how weird they both would look to each other. The Daeva Anglus had been struck by whatever had gotten her, and with a cry, a bag was slipped over her head.

With a last twitch, Ruya closed her eyes, unable to move.

((Forgot about this thread for a moment. Oops.))
