Mike the Foxhog and Lord Shyguy vs. BlazieAura and Sovie

Well, let's use Magic Coat to negate the confusion from Swagger and give it to Hindenburg (Magic Coat doesn't equal "Protect", so Hindenburg should use Swagger). Then, let Hindenburg and Rue beat the shit out of each other and use Chill. Finish with a Shadow Claw at Hindenburg.

Arena: Enormous Christmas Pudding
As the name suggests, this field is an enormously large Christmas pudding, at least two Wailords in diameter, sitting in a bowl with custard. A Pokémon can be commanded to take up an action to eat some of the pudding, restoring 10% health and 5% energy; however, due to the arena being very filling, this can only be carried out three times per Pokémon. At the beginning of the battle, the pudding and custard are extremely hot, so any Pokémon in contact with either of them receive 2% damage per round (increased to 4% for Ice types, reduced to 0% for Fire types) until round three, when it will be cool enough to eat. Any Pokémon attempting to eat the arena until then will suffer 3% damage, a 30% chance of a burn and the inability to use sound or biting based moves for a round due to a burnt tongue. Additionally, the pudding is soaked with some variety of liquor, meaning that any Pokémon eating it has a 25% chance to become drunk confused, and all Fire-type moves have a 10% chance to set the whole thing alight, dealing 3% Fire damage per round to any Pokémon who doesn't escape into the custard moat until it dies down. Finally, numerous coins are buried in the pudding for lucky and unsuspecting diners to find, and any Pokémon using Dig or any move that upturns the pudding (including eating it) has a 10% chance of gaining $1.

This time, Terra reacted almost instantly to her trainer’s commands. While Hindenburg was taking a deep breath in preparation for a haughty, arrogant ramble, Terra’s skin seemed to twinkle and gain a glass-like quality as reflective psychic-type energy was infused with her ghostly hide. Taking no notice of his target’s spiffy new skin, Hindenburg began to brag about his amazing qualities: his rich purple colour, his unmatched ghostly splendor, how he had a balloon for a body (and you couldn’t get any better than that!). It was only when he heard another voice mingling with his, a voice that sounded halfway between his voice and the higher, more feminine pitch of Terra’s that he stopped. He strained his ears to listen, and within a few moments Hindenburg was seething. As it turned out, Terra’s Magic Coat was hurling the Drifloon’s statements back with several modifications, and Hindenburg quivered with rage as he heard his boasts turned against him: Terra’s rich purple colour, Terra’s unmatched ghostly splendor, how she had diamonds for eyes (and you couldn’t get any better than that!).

Normally, Hindenburg and Terra’s bickering would be difficult to ignore, but Rue was just so pooped that she had no trouble settling down for a quick nap. Indeed, the other Pokemon voices soon faded into the background as the Budew hunkered down to enjoy a rest that would, most likely, end all too quickly.

She was right. After only a minute or two of blissful relaxation, Rue’s trainer began to fidget impatiently, yelling at her Pokemon to hurry up and attack. With a sigh, the Budew stood up, feeling moderately refreshed but still far, far from good condition. A blob of murky material began to form at Rue’s mouth as shadows and their ghostly energies were sucked towards the plant. Soon enough, an amorphous sphere had taken shape, and a moment later it was speeding forward to strike Hindenburg in his side. The Drifloon gave a little scream as he was hit, the cry half pain and half rage. Unable to control his body effectively, he somersaulted several times through the air before he finally came to halt, dizzy and bewildered.

Miraculously, Hindenburg managed to push aside his confusion and paralysis for a few moments, long enough for him to harness his frustration and let it take over his muscles. Though he’d much rather teach Terra a lesson by forcibly pounding her into the pudding, he was specifically commanded to wail on Rue instead, and grudgingly the Drifloon turned towards the hapless plant. All his previous complaints were forgotten as soon as Hindenburg began to thrash Rue viciously; she was the cause of his paralysis, the paralysis that had screwed him over more times than he’d like, after all! Rue gasped in pain and attempted to scoot backwards, but Hindenburg was relentless, and by the time he had tired, Rue was covered in long, red welts that did not look unlike whip marks.

This time, while Hindenburg and Rue waged their own personal war, Terra was the one who sat back with a smug grin. Jovial as she appeared to be, the Sableye was rather fatigued, and her eyes quickly dulled as she slipped into a shallow sleep. Energy flowed back into her tired limbs, even though her rest was periodically disturbed by particularly nasty bouts of insults.

At long last, Rue tired of hurling verbal abuse at her opponent. Violence was always the answer, right? Wincing as she moved into position – her wounds from Hindenburg’s crazed assault still stung like fury – the Budew once again punctured space itself, creating a tiny vacuum that greedily drew in shadows. The dusky streaks curled in on themselves, eventually creating an ever-wavering sphere; satisfied, Rue headbutted it in Hindenburg’s general direction. The Shadow Ball struck true, singeing yet another patch of his body with ghost energy.

This time, the attack was too much for Hindenburg. Knocked off-balance, the balloon Pokemon struggled to right himself, but his head just wasn’t cooperating. The world spun around him, and with a sudden, jarring impact, his head struck the pudding. Normally it would just be a light bump, but rage lent ridiculous strength to his movements, and a moderately powerful shockwave ran through his head. Hindenburg let out a startled squeak and blinked at the sky.

Terra was roused by Hindenburg’s indignant peep. Blinking sleepily, her mouth quickly stretched into a sneer as she realized that her opponent was practically a sitting duck. A small sizzling sound was audible as the Sableye’s claws began to glow with caustic ghost energy, and within moments Terra’s entire hand was coated with the foul stuff. Pouncing forward, she brought her hand raking across Hindenburg’s belly. The Drifloon screeched and ineffectually waved an appendage in Terra’s direction, but she just jumped back, chuckling. She was cut off mid-cackle, though, as her guts suddenly seized up, reacting violently to the impurities in her body.

Argh damn that stat-stealing Sableye.
Well, while he's focussing on Rue, float up in the air a bit where nobody can hit you (I assume that's allowed) and Chill while you're up there to try and clear those stupid status effects. If you're fully paralysed or otherwise kept on the ground on the first action, go up on the second action instead. Then just throw a Shadow Ball down at Terra. If you don't think you can do the whole floating thing, chill first action, Shadow Ball second.

If Hindenburg is fully paralyzed, too confused to move, or you're able to attack faster than him, go ahead and use Psych Up. If he gets up before you think you can get the attack in, Chill for a bit. Next, wait for Terra to use Fire Punch on you, then Chill. Finally, if your Psych Up was successful, use Seed Bomb on Terra. If it wasn't, use Synthesis.

Before Hindenburg could fill his body with light gases and float upwards and out of reach, Rue had extended the reach of her mind and latched onto that of her balloon-like opponent’s. The Drifloon felt an odd tingle as Rue explored his brain for any changes she could apply to her own grey matter. Much to her delight, she found an abundance of strength and bulk, both physical and mental, and she wasted no time in applying the stats to her own body. A rush of adrenaline coursed through her, along with the not-as-welcome wave of exhaustion: working so many changes in such a short amount of time was acutely wringing her body of energy.

Once the tingling sensation had faded away, Hindenburg shrugged and began to inflate. Slowly he began to rise, but his wildly spasming muscles weren’t cooperating fully, so his ascent was jerky and time-consuming. When the Drifloon had achieved an altitude of roughly three meters, gravity decided to give him a big fat “no”. No matter how hard Hindenburg tried, he couldn’t push himself any higher, and so he hovered there, his body about four times its normal size.

Terra had watched Hindenburg’s laborious upward progress with an expression of exasperation. Surely that wasn’t the best he could do? He probably would’ve gotten farther away if he had run across the pudding instead. Shrugging, Terra replicated Rue’s actions and tapped into Hindenburg’s mind in order to copy his spectacular wealth of stat changes. The Drifloon blinked, puzzled, as that same tingling feeling crept across his ghostly skull.

Apparently Rue wasn’t too eager to try out her new strength that she had leeched from Hindenburg. Exhausted and nearly unconscious, the baby plant Pokemon had fallen over on her side, eyes closed for a much-needed nap. In fact, she was so zoned-out that she didn’t even notice Terra stalk up to her, her purple fist coated with a dangerous swath of flames.

Under ordinary circumstances, Rue would feel the heat, jump up, and scamper away, but this time she didn’t register the presence of fire until it was ravaging her skin. Terra had given her a fierce, powerful punch, easily twice as powerful as any she had mustered before, and Rue was knocked away as easily as one might knock away an empty 7-Up can. Though she already bore some resemblance to the object, the Budew dearly wished that she was made of metal at the moment; it certainly would have cushioned the blow a bit. As it was, she screamed in pain, unable to contain neither the agony of her spectacular new bruise nor the ring of flames dancing merrily across her green skin.

Three meters up in the air, Hindenburg was resting, too, though he had far fewer distractions to contend with. Of course, there was the strain of keeping his twitching body at a constant altitude, but at least he wasn’t being punched silly and thrashed about by elemental energies.

After lying on the pudding for several moments, Rue finally regained her bearings and staggered painfully to her feet. She glared at Terra with supreme hatred (the crystal-eyed gremlin returned it with a cackle) and began to bring seeds into her mouth. The seeds were thinly veiled with a protective covering and quivering with energy, as if eager to sprout into life. And indeed, when Rue spat the seeds at Terra, they exploded in a burst of greenery, knocking the Sableye away with sheer force. Terra couldn’t help but let out a garbled cry of pain as leaves cut into her skin and sharp shoots stabbed at her body.

Fortunately for her, Terra’s next command gave her a way to deal with the pain. Still crouched on the ground, the Sableye began to concentrate huge amounts of energy into her wounds; the energy glowed white, bathing her entire body in an ivory glow. Natural healing processes went into overdrive, sealing wounds and patching up bruises, but the procedure took an incredible amount of energy, almost more than Terra could offer. When the aura faded away, Terra all but dropped to the ground, in good condition physically but utterly drained and exhausted.

As if to add to Terra’s troubles, a murky black ball of ghostly energy shot down from the heavens – if three meters up could be considered as high as the clouds. Hindenburg grinned smugly as his Shadow Ball struck true, forcing Terra onto her stomach. The pain was nothing compared to her fatigue, though, and the Sableye didn’t even grunt, putting a damper on Hindenburg’s mood.

Well, someone’s been making their sacrifices. Mike didn’t roll anything lower than a 50 this round.
Due to paralysis and the fact that hovering Pokemon can’t go very high up, I had Hindenburg stay relatively close to the pudding. Also due to the same reasons, Hindenburg spent quite a bit of energy staying up there.
I only read the “Chill after Fire Punch” thing after I wrote the Chill and Fire Punch, but the calculations would’ve been the same anyway, so I left it be.

This is not good, no it is not.

We need a Substitute (20%) up now. While you're behind it, use Mega Drain twice, targeting Energy, on Terra. If you are prevented from using Mega Drain or Terra makes herself impossible to hit, Eat Pudding once, and if you have another action after where you can't hit her, use Shadow Ball on Hindenburg. If your Substitute breaks, send a Shadow Ball in Hindenburg's direction. If you're prevented from making a Sub on the first action, make it on the second and move your commands back an action.

(Oh dear, this command string will be long...)

Hurry up and use chill. We can't die from exhaustion now... Then, use Detect to prevent Rue's Mega Drain. Finish with a Dig (at Rue, if it applies) to dodge Mega Drain again (I'm faster, right?).

Well, I think we can take a Shadow Ball quite nicely, so let's smash stuff. Rue's pretty much a goner, so focus on Terra; any time you can Shadow Ball her, do so. If not, and Rue's attacked you that action, use Payback on her. If neither condition applies, chill.

Rue nearly wailed aloud as a barrage of commands reached her ears, the words going so fast that some of them seemed to slur together. She was pained and fatigued and goddamnit she hardly had the drive to listen to her trainer’s orders. At least the first action was straightforward, though it would cost a considerable amount of all she had left to offer. Rue coughed up a large, quivering seed that glowed with a curious energy. As soon as the seed touched the pudding, it seemed to explode in a plume of green smoke; when it cleared, there was a replica of Rue that almost seemed bigger than the actual Pokemon, who was hunched over in agony. The structure, though, was made of hundreds of small plants that entwined together to form a sturdy object.

However, it seemed that Terra was wholly uninterested in the appearance of a new foe. Her dull eyes indicated that her consciousness had drifted away; a quiet snore indicated the same. The Sableye was so exhausted that she didn’t even bother to drag herself into a more dignified position before resting – in fact, the diamond-eyed gremlin was lying on her stomach, limbs sprawled everywhere, with her head turned to the side. If it weren’t for the peaceful curve of her mouth, one would think that Terra was already knocked out.

Figuring that Rue would knock herself out in due time, Hindenburg didn’t even cast a single glance at her as he charged a ball of ghostly energy in front of his face. With Rue trying to catch her breath behind her Substitute and Terra sleeping, Hindenburg had nothing to distract him – except for the unfortunate twitch of his muscles just as he was firing the Shadow Ball. For a moment the Drifloon thought his attack would miss, but as luck would have it his aim was true and the twinge only threw the sphere slightly off course. Terra gurgled in surprise as she was struck at the top of her head, but her fatigue won over and she was soon resting again.

The Sableye certainly wouldn’t have minded a bit more shuteye, but after another moment or two, her trainer grew restless and gave her a verbal prod. Terra groaned as she struggled to her feet. Then, in stark contrast to her previous lethargy, her eyes gleamed with sudden awareness and vigilance. Her body tensed as she prepared to dash away at the first sign of danger.

No threats would be coming from either opponent, though, it seemed. Rue was even more distressed than before, her complex commands bestowing her an unholy headache in addition to her other woes. “Chill” and “Mega Drain” both sounded particularly tempting, but the Budew did neither, afraid of botching her orders; what if that one attack was even more important than her low energy reserves? She gazed resentfully at Hindenburg, who not only had simple commands, but was also resting peacefully. For a moment she wished she had ghostly powers of her own so she could Snatch that energy for herself.

After several moments, the keen attentiveness in Terra’s eyes faded away to be replaced by dull weariness. Usually a Detect wouldn’t cost her too much, but when she had so little to begin with, it took quite a toll on her undead body. The worst was still to come, though: all of a sudden, Terra noticed a green aura around her, steadily growing stronger, and glowing orbs began to peel off her skin before her very eyes. The Sableye felt yet more energy leaving her with every sphere and she gave a horrified yelp, barely able to stay conscious as wave after wave of nausea passed over her.

As the green glow faded away from Terra and Rue, both of them broke out in fits of ragged gasping, as if they had just awoken from a trace. Both had sweat beading their brows. Logically Rue should have felt better after draining her opponent’s energy, but the weak attack had consumed more energy than it had siphoned.

Though Terra would’ve liked nothing more than to collapse onto the pudding and concede defeat, her commands gave little room for rebellion. Slowly she began tearing at the soft dessert to create a tunnel that would, ultimately, lead to Rue’s demise –

Clink.

Terra reared back in surprise. Her claws had struck something shiny and metallic. With renewed eagerness she scratched at the pudding surrounding the coin, dislodging it within a few moments. She then tossed it out the mouth of her tunnel, where Lord Shyguy picked it up.

Hindenburg lazily opened an eye and did a quick sweep of his surroundings. …Huh. Terra was nowhere to be seen. Shrugging, he closed his eye again, then broke out in a fit of ragged sputtering as his muscles clenched, coiled, and twisted at random intervals, making resting a difficult prospect indeed.

After several more agonizing seconds, during which her entire being screamed with exhaustion, Terra burst out from the dessert next to Rue and tackled her to the ground – or at least, what she thought was Rue. In the end, Terra had miscalculated the distance, and had to settle with striking her opponent’s Substitute.

On action 1, Mike just barely evaded paralysis, so I reduced Shadow Ball's accuracy to about 70%. Luckily for him, the attack still hit.
Rue was confused by her commands on action 2 and thus did not attack.
Nope, Budew’s faster than Sableye (by 5 points, iirc).
Terra uncovered a coin on action 3.
Hindenburg’s second Chill was interrupted by paralysis.

Well this shouldn't take too long. Fling Shadow Balls at Rue by default, target Terra if she protects, and chill if you can't hit anyone.

Also, stop being paralysed. It's silly.

Well, I don't think we can delay it much longer...Hindenburg's first attack will probably defeat you. Use Mega Drain (Energy) on Terra first action, hoping that you are still conscious to do it. If by some miracle you are alive afterward, use it again on Terra if she is alive and has not chilled. Otherwise fire off Shadow Balls at Hindenburg until you pass out. =/

Well, this sucks. :/

Chill. You have to Chill. Budew will probably get knocked out by Hindenburg, so you should be okay. Even if she doesn't, Mega Drain should finish her off. Then, just to be safe, eat pudding. To finish, if your energy happens to be over 20%, use Shadow Claw at Hindenburg. If not, Chill again.

Though the utter pessimism in her trainer’s voice should’ve discouraged Rue, the plant Pokemon almost felt revitalized by her words. At least she’d be returned to her Pokeball soon. Closing her eyes in concentration, Rue tapped into Terra’s energy, then, as a green glow began to wreath the two Pokemon, desperately sucked as much energy as she could from her opponent into her own body. Terra jerked and groaned with each shimmering orb that left her ghostly form, feeling weaker and weaker with each passing moment, until her legs were too weary to bear her weight. The Sableye went on her knees, then fell forward, her dulling eyes a clear sign that she had fainted from exhaustion.

As Terra was returned in a flash of red light, Hindenburg waved his appendages about, beckoning shadows to gather in front of him. Once a good number of them had been accumulated, the Drifloon reached down to scoop an amorphous sphere of darkness, which he then threw at Rue. She closed her eyes, ready for the impact she was sure would knock her out – but it never came. As it turned out, all participants had forgotten about the existence of Rue’s Substitute. The valiant proxy had hurled itself in the path of the Shadow Ball, ultimately disintegrating into a pile of soot as the attack sapped the last of its life force.

Rue couldn’t decide whether she should sigh with relief or groan in exasperation. On one hand, she was still conscious. On the other, she was still conscious. Well, her next action ought to remedy that. Her entire body shrieking in agony, Rue gathered a ball of murky substances much like Hindenburg did, then nudged it in the ghost balloon’s direction. It shot towards him, leaving a small burn on his body, even as Rue slumped to the ground, out cold.

Start off with a Dig at Po. Then, I guess you should come up and attack. Finish with a Rain Dance.

Dig @ Po~Come up~Rain Dance

Why does Drifloon lack Fighting moves I am disappoint D<

Start off with a Pain Split at Po, then hurl a Shadow Ball at him and finish with a rain-fuelled Weather Ball. If he protects at any point, use Focus Energy, or Minimise if you used Focus Energy before.

Pain Split/Focus Energy ~ Shadow Ball/Focus Energy/Minimise ~ Weather Ball/Focus Energy/Minimise

Oh dear why must you all gang up on Po? >.< Ugh, we're not fast enough to avoid Pain Split either...

Okay, first Dig down - make sure it's away from where the Eevee goes down. After that their attacks will not harm you, so Eat Pudding and then make a Substitute (10%).

Finally, numerous coins are buried in the pudding for lucky and unsuspecting diners to find, and any Pokémon using Dig or any move that upturns the pudding (including eating it) has a 10% chance of gaining $1.

Both baby plant and ghost were recalled with calm indifference, and their replacements were sent out with about the same emotion. Two small Pokemon took form on the pudding. They were both quadrupeds of a similar size, but once their red glows faded away, it became apparent how different the two were: one was a stout, metallic creature with huge blue eyes, and the other was a cute, brown-furred cat-like animal. As soon as Blazie’s choice was easily recognizable, Lord Shyguy flew into a string of muffled curses. Pyrite the Eevee grimaced at her trainer’s language. Po the Aron looked up uneasily and shifted his weight, then looked back down at his feet in alarm as his heavy body began to sink ever so slightly into the malleable arena.

Despite his still-tight muscles, Hindenburg was still the first to move; perhaps the power of the spirits inhabiting the pudding gave him the extra push he needed to outspeed his opponents. He closed his eyes and mentally reached towards the jittery Po, latching firmly onto the Aron’s spiritual being. Po shuddered as he felt an ominous tingle through his body. That sensation was followed by a searing pain as Hindenburg forcefully balanced their mental and physical states, leaving Po looking worse for wear and Hindenburg exhausted but with far less bruises and tears.

Just as Po was released from Hindenburg’s Pain Split, Pyrite began to claw at the pudding underneath her. Seeing this, Po gave a panicked squeak and dove into the ground, too, using his sensitive ears to tunnel away from where he thought Pyrite would be. Fortunately for him, Pyrite didn’t seem in a hurry to attack him, and after several moments Po stopped digging.

Meanwhile, on the surface, Hindenburg was faced with a dilemma. Neither of his opponents were visible, but they clearly hadn’t used Protect, either… While he rested his non-existent chin on one appendage, his muscles decided to seize up once more, sending the balloon Pokemon plummeting to the ground. Hindenburg growled with annoyance. Paralysis had saved him from a difficult decision, but it was, needless to say, extremely uncomfortable.

After resting for a short while, Pyrite pricked her large ears and frowned. She could no longer hear the light scraping of metal on the surface; instead, the sound seemed to be coming from a few meters to her right. The Eevee decided to try her luck. Cautiously she tunneled forward; hearing the shuffle and squelch of shifting pudding, Po panicked again and dug deeper. Pyrite’s frown deepened. Now she was positive that Po was lurking in the pudding, but if she didn’t return to the surface soon, she’d probably be disobeying her trainer. Reluctantly Pyrite began to tunnel to the surface.

Still underground (or underpudding, to be apt), Po strained his ears to ensure the exit of his opponent. Once all was quiet, the Aron sighed and helped himself to some of the pudding literally encasing him.

After a minute or two, Hindenburg at last regained control of his muscles. At that exact moment, a small figure popped out from the pudding – Hindenburg craned forward eagerly – but the creature was brown and furry. Hindenburg sighed. With Po still absent, he had no choice but to chuck a misty ball of energy at the sky (Mike said it’d be raining why wasn’t it raining) and dully watch it land in one of the five holes in the pudding.

As if on cue, Pyrite began to do a slow, solemn dance as soon as a wet splat signaled the Weather Ball’s demise. As if attracted to her elegant movements and somber humming, clouds began to close in overhead. The raindrops fell slowly at first, seeming to tap out a rhythm to Pyrite’s dance; when her dance wound to a halt, it was like the clouds opened up all at once, sending sheets of water pouring down onto the pudding. The Eevee shook out her fur in an attempt to dry it, but her efforts were in vain.

Po quivered slightly at the distant roar of rain and thunder and decided to make himself a companion. Using the only material available to him – that is, pudding – Po sculpted a blob with four stubby legs and breathed some life into the rough structure. Two pits of solid, glowing blue opened up where its eyes would be, and the Substitute turned these pits towards its creator. Suddenly, Po wasn’t sure if making a Substitute for the same of companionship was the best idea.

Terrain notes
There are two patches of sickly purplish pudding where the two Toxics struck. A short tunnel has been dug under the surface of the pudding, the two entrances/exits roughly six feet apart. Two more tunnels have been excavated: both slope sharply down and then abruptly level off, but only one returns to the surface.

Final notes
Blazie attacks first next round, followed by Lord Shyguy, and finally, Mike.
Since Pyrite’s commands specifically said to attack Po on the second action, I rolled a die to see if she would manage to hit him. Due to the wording of Shuyguy’s commands (come to the surface) and the fact that Po was instructed to tunnel away from Pyrite, the chances of Pyrite actually hitting Po were very low.
On the second action, Hindenburg was fully paralyzed.
