Mike vs. Blazhy

Alright, this is going to be pretty simple. Stockpile (20%), Stealth Rock, and then Spit Up.

Stockpile (20%) ~ Stealth Rock ~ Spit Up

Blazhy was fast picking out her next pokemon. She threw her next pokeball purposefully, smirking all the while, while the referee's ears perked up at the mention of ramen. The blinding burst of white light revealed a strange, purple, rock-like creature. Lutra bounced up to the pokemon curiously, studying it closely. All of a sudden, eight pale tentacles shot out of the top of the lileep, and the buizel almost fell in surprise, then quickly got a hold of himself and scooted closer to the lileep again. Phalanx blinked slowly at the curious buizel then slowly reached towards him with a tentacle.

The referee cleared its throat. "Ahem, this round is starting, so please stop messing around." Lutra quickly scooted back to his original spot. "Anyway, round start!" With that, the referee turned its attention back to its ramen.

Round 6 Start

Lutra relaxed his muscles, preparing himself for the lileep's attack, whatever it might be. The lileep, however, seemed intent on being as slow as he could. The sea lily pokemon slowly swayed in the rain and glowed softly, storing some energy for later use and not attacking at all. After a while, Lutra decided that Mr. Tentacles was not going to attack and walked towards the pin. The buizel curiously stared at the pin, prod it with a paw, then, determining it to be safe, quickly scooped it up and stuffed it in the folds of its fur, then turned his attention back to the lileep in case he tries to do something weird. Phalanx was still absorbed in Stockpiling energy, however, and ignored the buizel completely.

"Ahhhh it's a pig! Quickly! Somebody get it!" "Prepare to be iterated!" The referee and somebody else seemed to be panicking at something. The referee had even put down its unfinished bowl of ramen and was waving its arms around like crazy. A pig -- to be exact, an eye-hurting purple pig with an equally eye-hurting yellow crown on its head -- ran squealing through the diminishing crowd and between the battlers, then disappeared off the arena. "Ah, dammit! It got away!" "You're so zetta-slow! You could've beaten the pig!" "Don't blame me! You didn't do much either!"

The "bling" sound was lost over the arguing, and a white pin with a gray bear and black claws on it clattered to the ground, where it stayed, unnoticed.

All of a sudden, the pattering rain stopped. The gray clouds drifted across the sky lazily, and a few ray of sunlight shone through. Crowds began to spill onto Scramble Crossing again, not needing to hide from the rain anymore.

Lutra turned his attention back to the battle. Mr. Tentacles (Lutra decided that it is a fitting name for the tentacle-thing) was still just sitting there, storing energy or whatever. The buizel shrugged and focused. A swirling veil of water rose up from the ground and engulfed Lutra as he charged forward towards the lileep with a sudden burst of speed. Phalanx made no attempt to dodge -- mainly because he was too slow to anyway -- and Lutra smacked right into the lileep's side. The lileep grunted and took the blunt damage, then slowly waved his tentacles. Pieces of cement and concrete slowly broke free from the ground and circled the buizel, their edges dangerously sharp.

Quite a few pedestrians could be heard complaining in the background about rising taxes.

Lutra gulped, now a bit nervous. The sharp, hovering rocks don't look very comfortable to run into, yet it was the only was he could attack the weird tentacles thing. The buizel gulped and focused, once again bringing up a swirling veil of water from the ground that has yet to dry. He closed his eyes and charged forward, feeling the sharp stones dig into his fur as he crashed head on through the swirling storm of cement bits and into the lileep. Phanlax took the attack and shuddered; two Waterfalls in a row do hurt, even if he had a nice amount of stored energy to protect him. But the Stockpile does have its uses, and Phalanx rocked backwards, gathering his stored energy in his mouth, then shot it out as a powerful beam. Lutra was knocked backwards by the huge blast of pure energy and was sent flying through the air, before landing on the ground with a painful thud. The beam didn't hurt as much as it should though; with a Spit Up this powerful, Lutra knew that he should have taken way more damage than that. But, hey, he's not going to complain.

- A Pig Mazurka appeared during the end of the first action and dropped a Grizzly.
- Lutra didn't use Agility because nobody attacked him.
- My grammar is failing me. This is not good.
- A little bit of energy was taken off of Lutra for him to get the Pin.
- Waterfall didn't do as much damage due to the defence boost from Stockpile
- The "hottest" types right now are now Normal, Water, and Electric in that order.
- Blazhy's ordering first next round/\.

Mmhmmm... Well, the fact that Water is the second hottest type is going to cause us some problems. So this round, let's spam Giga Drain (health). If he Protects, use Stockpile (10%) because Stockpile is just that awesome, and in the case of Double Team, let's take advantage of the hottest type and use Natural Gift. Simple~

Well, use Ice Beam I guess; super effective + might freeze + won't miss like Blizzard = sure go ahead. Last action, use Milk Drink before you die D:

The clouds were slowly but surely beginning to clear, and Scramble Crossing quickly turned back to its usual busy self. Crowds now started crossing the streets again, now that they don't have to hide from the rain. The referee moved back to its original spot while balancing a huge stack of empty ramen bowls in its left paw while holding a new bowl of ramen with its right. Placing the empty stack of ramen bowl on the ground, the referee waved its chopsticks vaguely. "Round start!" It called and went back to eating.

Round 7 Start

Lutra winced. He wasn't expecting Mr. Tentacles, who had looked pretty harmless, to use such a powerful attack. The buizel scooted a bit further away from the lileep, who was just sitting there, unmoving as always, and charged up ice cold energy in his mouth. Lutra opened his jaws, and a glowing beam of light blue energy shot out, smashing into the lileep and forming a thing layer of frost. The sea lily shuddered from the piercing cold, his rock and grass typing making the beam hurt even more. Yet there wasn't really anything he could do but take the pain, since he was too slow to move out of the way. When the beam subsided, Phalanx decided that it was time to strike back, or at least regain some health. Lutra's body started glowing oddly, and small green spheres of light floated out from it, floating towards the lileep's, who then absorbed the glowing lights. Lutra felt a sharp stab of pain and cried out; he knew that his life force is being drained away, and Mr. Tentacles was befitting from it. The sharp floating rocks around him reminded him that escape is futile; either way, he's going to get hurt.

When the lights faded, Lutra was feeling pain all over his body. He shook his head and concentrated again, now determined to beat the lileep before Mr. Tentacles beats him. He charged up more ice energy and shot it towards the lileep in a glowing beam, mentally asking Arceus to freeze the lileep. Yet, like last time, the beam only created a thin layer of frost on the lileep that quickly melted. Mr. Tentacles -- Phalanx -- once again focused and was about to suck the life force from the buizel when he heard the referee shouting again.

"It's another pig! Quick, hit it!" "Factoring hectopascals, it's on your screen!" "Just attack it, dammit!" "Level i Flare--" "Not heeerrrrreeee --"

Despite the referee's horrified scream, a brilliant beam of white light shot through the street, barely missing the two battlers and one pokemon, and incinerated the pig in question faster than one could say "derivatives". The referee could be heard yelling something at someone in the background while a familiar "bling!" sounded and a pin dropped to the ground. This time, it was a black pin with the picture of a pig on it.

Phalanx shrugged and turned his attention back to the battle. Although he was a bit confused at what just happened, it had nothing to do with him, and there's still a battle to be won. He waved his tentacles and started sucking the buizel's health, watching coldly while the otter squirmed in pain. A battle is a battle is a battle, he reasoned, and there's no point doing something to save your opponent when it is capable of ripping you to pieces. As Phalanx absorbed the glowing spheres of life force, he started feeling much better.

Meanwhile, Lutra was left in a world of pain. Milk Drink... He's a male, dammit, and how's he going to do that? The buizel took out his pin and stared at it. Maybe if he just focused... Lutra poured some energy into the pin, and, to his surprise, the pin started secreting some sort of strange liquid. The buizel focused more, feeling more and more tired by the moment, and, all of a sudden, a cup of milk (according to its label, anyway) popped out of the pin. The surprised Lutra quickly stuffed his pin back into the folds of his fur and grabbed the cup of milk before it could fall to the ground. The milk did smell rather delicious, and, although it is of rather sketchy origins, he decided to drink it. And the milk was delicious -- it was smooth and sweet, and, as the buizel drank, he felt the pain fade away. When Lutra finished, the cup magically vanished and he was left feeling much better, if a bit tired.

Then the buizel found himself glowing strangely again, and a sharp jab of pain followed as Phalanx continued sucking out his life force. The lileep was looking a bit worse for wear; he was dripping with water and obviously shivering. It seems like the Ice Beams have done a lot of damage.

The streets seemed eerily empty for some reason, but the few people still around were chatting excitingly about how cool Ice Types are, complete with bad puns.

Erm, excuse me for being nitpicky about your calculations, but by my calculations Phalanx should've done 5% more damage this round. Could be because our scales are different, but even then Phalanx should've gotten 12% health back instead of 7%, right?

...>.> Not that it matters all too much, but it's bothering me. Clarify please?

Right, we're finally doing OK on Health, Lutra, so let's start to finish tentacle-head off~

Start with Hail, then use two Blizzards. If at any point it's commanded to change the weather, forget that and use Ice Beam all three actions; if it Protects or uses Mirror Coat at any point, drop Hail, use Bulk Up on the actions it is Protecting and Ice Beam on the ones when it isn't.

Hail/Ice Beam/Bulk Up ~ Blizzard/Ice Beam/Bulk Up ~ Blizzard/Ice Beam/Bulk Up

Awesome, exactly what I was hoping for. We can worry about health later, but Lutra's in trouble in terms of energy. Let's speed up the process with another round of Giga Drains, but this time target energy. By my calculations three Giga Drains should take him to around 18% energy, and his own attacks should take care of the rest. This round's gonna hurt, Phalanx, but just march through it and we can heal next round!

Giga Drain (energy) ~ Giga Drain (energy) ~ Giga Drain (energy)

Dammit, TCoD, stop dying halfway through my post.

@Blazhy: Just redid my calculations and found that Lutra recovered 55% health instead of the maximum of 50%, so there's your 5%. Nice catch, and thanks for pointing it out; I'll be careful not to make the same mistake next time! I promise!

Have edited reffing to reflect changes.

Would you guys like to change your orders of ramen? Lutra now has slightly more energy than before and slightly less health, although the outcome of the next round will still be the same unless the RNG gods decide to be mean.

Ah, it's no problem. I actually didn't catch it until I did some calculations to see how much Phalanx could drain.

Anyway, uh, I guess I've lost the element of surprise with those Giga Drains :( I don't mind re-ordering, but damnit, I was looking forward to my first energy-kill.

And I'm looking forward to snatching it from under your nose :3

Same commands as before, but forget about Bulk Up. If at any point it Protects, Mirror Coats or uses Giga Drain, chill.

You're still going to screw me over somehow, but oh well.

Ah, I spy a loophole. Lutra will still Chill if we use Giga Drain, so let's just do that and target health, energy, and health. :D

The clouds have all but parted now, and the sun shone brightly over Scramble Crossing. A small crowd had once again gathered around the battling trainers and pokemon, murmuring amongst themselves about the most popular pokemon type. Most people, however, were hurrying across the crossing, barely paying the battle any mind, only sometimes complaining about how there were random holes in the concrete ground around the battlers and how their taxes were going to rise again.

The referee of the battle was, as always, eating ramen. It only looked up after being glared at by one of the trainers. "Round start," the referee muttered casually and placed its empty ramen bowl in the growing stack next to it.

Round 8 Start

At the sound of "Giga Drain" from his opponent's trainer, Lutra sighed and settled down on the ground, getting into a slightly more comfortable position. He wasn't hurting all over like before and was pretty tired, but he could still keep on battling! The buizel looked at the sharp pieces of cement still circling him and sighed again. At least he can get some energy back... Lutra closed his eyes and rested a bit, trying to think about happy things like rainbows and food-themed arenas. His Chill was brought to a stop, however, when he felt a surge of pain. A stream of small, glowing blobs of energy oozed out of the buizel's body and floated towards the lileep, who gladly absorbed the life energy.

The buizel gave a sigh of relief with the Giga Drain stopped, and curled up into a tighter ball. The concrete ground was hard and uncomfortable, but at least he got to rest a bit. Saving up for the battle ahead, he concluded, and watched with slight amusement as as strange frog-like creature materialized out of nowhere. The creature was small and bright yellow in color, but its strange-looking legs were a striking blue. The frog jumped through the crowd, almost knocked over the referee's growing stack of empty ramen bowls and earning a loud curse, then headed straight for Lutra. The buizel closed his eyes and braced himself for the impact. Yet, he felt none. When he finally dared to open his eyes, Lutra saw a rather unamused Mr. Tentacles attempting to wave away some floating bubbles that were probably left by the weird frog. A "bling!" sound followed the frog's disappearance, and a blue pin with a white circle on one side dropped to the ground. Lutra continued to Chill again, hoping that he could actually Chill properly this time.

And, of course, he had no such luck, because Phalanx, following his orders, used Giga Drain again. Orbs of light green energy flowed out of the buizel, and this time, there was no pain -- however, Lutra found himself getting more and more tired by the moment. Lutra tried his best to regain some energy, but the lileep was also trying his best at sucking away some energy and succeeding at it. The buizel could only shudder a bit after the attack was over, feeling more tired than before and in more pain, too.

Lutra tried once again to Chill, knowing full well that it won't do anything much; and he was right. As the buizel attempted to rest, Phalanx once again flexed his tentacles and Giga Drained. Lutra felt the pain coursing through his body again, and he gave up all effort to stay calm and Chill and just tried not to yell out in pain. Globs of glowing life energy flowed out of the buizel's body, and Phalanx greedily absorbed it. He was in quite a lot of pain, too, and the chance to heal after so long felt pretty great.

The crowd was cheering at the successful Giga Drains when the referee signaled the round's end. The strange math-speaking person seemed to have disappeared.

If it helps any, try positionig yourself below the rightmost head. Hardly anything will hit you there. Also, if you have it, Lightning Anger...? I think that's the pin name? It's from Tigre Punks, and it's a circular slash pin. That helps immensely.

Alright, our current situation is decent. Now because Linoone is probably really tired of describing Giga Drain, let's not use it this round. Your default commands will be: Seed Bomb, Chill, and Seed Bomb. Mirror Coat anything special, and Sandstorm if there are any clones - the Sandstorm will destroy them, and we'll get a delicious Sp. Defense boost as well. Use Sandstorm as well if Lutra uses Protect.

The ramen the referee has been eating seemed to have changed -- instead of a nice, big bowl of freshly made ramen like before, it is now just a small styrofoam cup filled with something that looked like instant noodles. Actually, it was instant noodles, or, more accurately, "Insta-Noodles", as depicted by the large orange letters on the cup. Seems like the referee had ran out of money -- or at least got a lot of 100 yen coins to spare. The referee took a few seconds to look up from its food and waved the referee flags. "Round start," it stated plainly and went back to eating again.

Round 10 Start

Before any of the battlers could do anything, the concrete next to Lutra exploded. A drill -- or what looked like a drill, because it was spinning too fast to tell -- burst out of the ground and crashed into Lutra, then, drilling another hole in the ground, disappeared. A "bling" followed, and a strage-looking pin fell to the ground. The pin was bright orange and, for some strange reason, has the design of a rocket with a shark's head. Almost as strange was the fact that the holes disappeared as soon as the pin fell.

Still in pain -- why did it had to be him? -- Lutra uncurled himself and looked up at the swirling pieces of concrete around him and the lileep looking smugly farther away. At least he didn't have to take a beating for no random reason anymore, the buizel reasoned and charged up energy in his paw. Phalanx wasn't about to let the otter gain the upper hand again either, and he, too, started charging energy. However, Lutra was faster, and he charged forward, paw glowing white with ice energy, and, crashing through the sharp concrete pieces, punched the lileep in the midsection. Phalanx hissed in pain as the ice energy burned his body, but he quickly retaliated. Tentacles flexing, the lileep flicked out a bunch of energy-charged seeds at the buizel. Almost simultaneously, the seeds turned into plants, and Lutra was knocked backwards by the sudden growth of greenery. The leaves cut into his sides, and the impact from the sheer force of the flying seeds sent a surge of pain through the buizel's body, and he cried out as he fell to the ground.

Lutra scrambled away from the greenery, which were slowly starting to welt due to the lack of nutrients, and sighed. One more Ice Punch it is... His paw once again glowed with energy, and the buizel ran forward again, his paw drawn back, and crashed through the floating concrete pieces. He could feel the sharp edges digging into his fur, but he didn't really care anymore, and brought his ice-cold fist into the lileep's midsection again. Phalanx hissed again, but did not fight back this time. Orders are orders, and he was a bit tired. The fossil pokemon closed its yellow eyes and rested, trying to ignore the searing pain in his midsection. Lutra, who had retreated in fear of more of those weird seeds, looked on cautiously. Mr. Tentacles is dangerous, and Lutra wasn't about to let his guard down around him again.

After a while, the lileep still hadn't moved, and Lutra peered at it closely. His trainer had mentioned something about damage caps (is that a brand of hat?), but he wasn't sure whether he had hit it or not. The lileep didn't looked very beat up, so the buizel decided to attack again just in case. Ice once again covered his fist, and the buizel ran forward, through the sharp concrete bits, and punched the lileep. In return, Lutra found himself getting a face-full of seeds that exploded into plants on contact, and the buizel stumbled backwards, glaring at the lileep. Lutra was starting to bleed from the various cuts on his shoulder, and the weird seed-plant-thingshurt.

The crowd didn't seem to mind the weird seed-plant-things though, because they were cheering at the successful Seed Bombs. Others were seriously impressed by the Ice Punches,

Phalanx, meanwhile, cringed in pain, but -- perhaps he was too numb to feel it anymore -- the Ice Punch didn't hurt as much as the previous ones did.

Well. We're pretty screwed here, Lutra m'boy. Might as well at least knock it around a bit before we go down~

Right, there's no way whatsoever of telling if this strategy worked with Aeris, but Quick Attack into the crowd and hide before Phalanx sees where you are. Then start firing off Blizzards. If in any way it stops you running and/or hiding, scrap that plan and go with three Ice Punches, same as last time. If it Protects, chill for that action. Unless it exploits that loophole and protects on the first action to stop you hiding >:C

Quick Attack (run into crowd and hide)/Ice Punch ~ Blizzard/Ice Punch/chill ~ Blizzard/Ice Punch/chill

Not so sure about Wolf, but yeah, Mitama is just like Lightening Anger with less power, so it'll do. I used Lightening Anger and Drake for the final battle, maybe a bit of Yoshimitsu. Oh, and I think Mike and I can wait until the 18th :3

This is gonna be an exhausting round, but we need to do what we need to do. First, use Recover, to make sure that the next Pokemon doesn't kill you with Water Gun or something. After that, it's same to assume that Lutra would've hit you with a Blizzard, which will give away his location. Drag him towards you with Grass Knot. It's okay if you need to spend a little more energy to do so; we'll rest the next round. Finish off with Seed Bomb to knock off the rest of his HP. This should leave you with around 9% energy, by my calculations.

If for some reason you can't drag Lutra towards you with Grass Knot (it seems feasible enough :| Make some grass shoots grow in front of you, entangle Lutra, and reel him in), then after using Recover, Chill and then Mirror Coat (make sure to aim well!).

Recover ~ Grass Knot/Chill ~ Seed Bomb/Mirror Coat

Toxic shouldn't be dealing that much damage per action. It really shouldn't go above 10% damage per round. Having it deal 6, 7% damage per action is pretty crazy overpowered.
