Music Dragon vs Walker

Arena: Sky Canopy
The Sky Canopy is a circular platform big enough to house even the largest of Pokémon; it is made of moss-covered stone. The platform is balancing on a tall pillar, which stands in the center of an even larger lake. The lake is off-limits for the battle, however - all fighting will take place on the platform. The Canopy is unnaturally sturdy considering its old and withered state, and can endure even an Earthquake attack without breaking apart.

The view from the Canopy is breathtaking; beyond the lake just below the platform, one can behold lush forests, endless plains, deserts and mountains and ancient buildings - the Sky Canopy happens to be situated very high up in the air, hence the name. A fall from the platform will guarantee a knock-out, even though you would land in water.

Rumor has it that the Sky Canopy once housed a certain colossus...

The Beast squints his large eyes at Luminous; the staryu’s shape twists and turns, converting into that of a circle, followed by a square and many others. The Beast giggles; the entire arena changes shape as well as colour, shifting like a disco ball. Stunned by the sudden beauty, the aerodactyl forgets what he was meant to do, and instead begins to dance rather awkwardly to the music that only he can hear.

Luminous stares in dismay. His once fearful opponent is now so… strange. The staryu would laugh if it could, but instead it decides to take advantage of its foes momentary insanity and recover its lost health. Within moments, the staryu begins to sparkle, humidity shining on its rough brown body; its scratches and wounds close within seconds, leaving Luminous feeling much healthier, albeit rather tired. The staryu checks to see if The Beast is still dancing –

And unfortunately, he isn’t. The aerodactly came to his senses with a start and glared at Luminous rather furiously. But instead of attacking, The Beast lay down on the ground, covering himself with his wings and wrapping his large tail around him; he quickly fell asleep. The intimidating Pokémon, when sleeping, actually looked rather cuddly. More importantly, he felt the paralysis that plagued him lifting, and his aches and pains no longer ached or pained him. Though for some reason, his sleep didn’t seem to restore any energy at all… instead, he felt rather sapped.

Luminous stared at the sleeping Beast in confusion. Its orders were somewhat… puzzling. The Beast hadn’t used Rock Tomb, but it was Resting – so should it chill or use Bubblebeam? The staryu wasted far too much time trying to figure this out; eventually simply gave up and decided to chill, though at this point there was little time left.

The Beast mumbled in his sleep, unaware of his opponents’ predicament; annoyed, Luminous was glad it knew what to do now, at least. The staryu spat out a stream of bubbles, not quite powerful enough to wake the aerodactyl up but enough to cause him some discomfort. He twitched in his sleep, moaning a bit, while the bubbles popped on contact and dripped water onto his rocky skin. Luminous felt rather satisfied at this, despite being left rather tired; it wished it had chilled more in the previous action.

Notes
- The Beast was confused on the first action.
- Luminous regained less energy on the second action, due to wasting most of it.
- Walker attacks first.

First off, chill. If The Beast taunts you, Bubblebeam him instead. After that, spam Water Pulse. If he uses Sunny Day, Thunderbolt instead. If he Protects, do nothing.

chill/Bubblebeam ~ Water Pulse/Thunderbolt/nothing x2

If you're still sleeping, attack using Kamehameha. As soon as you wake up, use Torment - then, once you've got the guy Tormented, feel free to chill a little... regain some energy, you know.

(Speaking of energy - don't you just love Pressure, Walker?)

Kamehameha / Torment / Chill x 3

The Beast twitched and grumbled in his sleep. His eyes slowly opened, taking in the arena around him – it took him a moment to realize just where he was. Once he did, though, he immediately got up, shaking himself awake and snarling at Luminous. The aerodactyl can’t remember what happened while he slept, so he assumes the staryu did something unpleasant.

Hissing in anger, The Beast begins to lash out at Luminous, mocking it for how it constantly uses the same attacks. Can’t it come up with any sort of strategy? Anything? The Beast had heard staryu were meant to be smart, and had expected a real battle, but man was he disappointed! Luminous just kept doing the same thing over and over! The Beast laughed, clearly enjoying himself.

Luminous, of course, felt quite differently. The staryu was nearly blushing with shame and anger; it wasn’t that repetitive… Stupid aerodactyl, who does he think he is? Luminous fumed silently, however; instead of attacking, it let itself drop to the platform. Its tired body was more than enough to convince the staryu to rest; even in such a short time, it would regain enough energy to feel a lot better.

The Beast apparently had similar ideas. Snorting, he sat down on the spot, staring at Luminous while he covered himself with his wings. Though he wasn’t as tired, he wasn’t bouncing off the walls either.

A bit hesitant, Luminous raised itself from the platform, staring at The Beast. It had used Water Pulse several times before and felt a bit worried about it now, but not so much that it wouldn’t use it. The Beast winced as a powerful burst of water struck him, soaking his rough body even further than it already was; he leered hatefully at Luminous.

Since The Beast found it preferable to continue relaxing, Luminous should have no problems attacking. But it did; the thought of using another Water Pulse terrified it. Despite its previous success with the attack, all it could remember when it thought of Water Pulse were the aerodactyl’s harsh words, and it shivered in fear. So way was it using that attack again, not so soon after it had just used it.

Clearly pleased, The Beast shifted his position; after this round, he’d have plenty of energy to spend knocking the life out of that stupid, stupid staryu. And he intended to do just that.

Scary Face ~ Sandstorm ~ Sandstorm (if previous failed or was cancelled) / Curse

Alright Luminous, here's our chance. First, use Rain Dance. There's no sand up here to speak of, so I doubt we'll have to worry about the upcoming Sandstorms. Then use Water Pulse, and finish up with a BubbleBeam.

Rain Dance ~ Water Pulse ~ BubbleBeam (whivit if you let sandstorm work up here i am going to kill you until you die from it >:( )
