Open My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

Ember cowered anxiously as she rode on Chrome into the Antechamber with the book. The nature of the room was very unnerving to her. She knew it was Chrome's job to deal with these mechanical things, but they were such a far cry from pony magic and her dragon magic. She much preferred to stay out of the Antechamber if she could help it.

The little dragon hopped off Chrome's back as he went about positioning the book to be scanned and making sure the door was properly locked and sealed. Using her claws to prop herself up she peeked at the leather-bound book, but quickly scrambled away when Chrome began the scanning process. Ember stood behind him with her eyes covered as the book's light shone through the window and bounced all around the room, being reflected by the smooth walls of the Antechamber. She tried to ignore the light and mechanical odor, and once it was all over she uncovered her eyes and stepped out from behind the unicorn. She climbed up onto his back again so she could get a better view of the screen, which now read the scanned contents of the mysterious book.

"So what's it say?" she asked, squinting.

As Starlight left the town, her eyes drew toward a different 'forest' of sorts... an enormous grove, filled with apple trees! It looked almost like a paradise... full of easy food. Sure, the apples themselves weren't yet of harvest size and ripeness, but that didn't seem to matter to her. As soon as she was mostly out of sight of the rest of the town, she began to scamper over toward Sweet Apple Acres, wandering deep into it.

(I am just going to jump in... XD)
Maple walked into Ponyville, looking around. She had just gotten here. She was a filly, who did not have her cutie mark yet. She smiled. She was curious to see the town. She started walking around, and saw Sugarcube corner. She walked into the place, seeing sweets and cakes and desserts of all delights. She licked her lips hungrily, and then froze when another pony walked in.

(That's fine. We'll just pretend that your post was a few weeks after the other posts)

Dinru sat at a table, simply munching on a muffin and mulling over recent events when a pony she didn't recognize suddenly appeared before her, frozen in shock. "Excuse me, can I... help you?"

(yay! We're back in action! Maybe this will help settle the new scene?)

It had been almost three weeks since the mysterious baby dragon had appeared in Ponyville, and an equally mysterious black smoke had arisen out of a magical book. Since then, while there was a little talk about it directly after the incident, the populace mainly went about their own way, considering the matter over with, some forgetting about it, some not even knowing anything happened. Only... it had only just begun...

Applejack was busy prancing through the family apple orchard, examining the trees for the upcoming harvest season. While things were looking just fine at first, something felt a little odd for some reason. Applejack ignored this feeling though, shrugging it off. She continued onward for another couple minutes until suddenly she saw a sight that caused her to simply stop and stare. "What in tarnations?" she wondered out loud. Before her, a group of trees had been completely mutilated. The apples, sure, were gone... but so were the branches, the leaves... it almost looked like something had taken bites out of the tree trunk itself! Applejack looked on in horror as she passed from tree to tree, seeing the same, gruesome sight. Her view was focused so much on the plight of her prized trees that she wasn't even watching where she was going... BOOP! The filly found herself smack right into something hard and grayish... a rock? But this rock was huge... and glowing! And... rocks don't just lift their heads and glare back at you with deep, glowing green eyes! This wasn't any rock... it was a dragon! And this time, it was big... bigger than most of the houses in Ponyville. The dragon had been laying right down in the middle of the slaughtered trees, and in its maw sat the trunk of an apple tree that had been ripped clear out of the ground. It stood up and growled back down at Applejack, crunching the treetrunk in half, sending shards and splinters everywhere.

Applejack began to back away from the immense creature, panting a little, trying her best to remain calm, as well as calm the dragon down. "Woah, hold on there partner... I'm not lookin for any trouble..." The silver dragon, however, didn't buy it. Her head lowered toward the tan pony, and she let loose a might, ear-piercing roar! Applejack then did just about the only thing she could think of at the moment, and she ran for it! Hopefully someone would be able to help!

Size wasn't the only thing that Starlight had gained over the last few weeks. Her gorging of apple trees had helped her grown, but she also found herself equipped with a whole new ability. As she watched the fleeing pony, a pair of large, leathery wings spread to her side, lifting over the nearby tree stumps. She leaped forward, batting her wings, and lifted herself up into the air, beginning to chase after Applejack... back toward the place that perhaps started it all - Ponyville. She wasn't quite skilled enough with her new wings to be able to fly long distances, but what she could do at least was make great leaps, perhaps hundreds of feet at a time, bulldozing through the apple grove forest.

Applejack wasn't considered one of the most athletic and swiftest ponies for nothing... Despite being up against a leaping dragon, she remained well out ahead of Starlight, but wouldn't be able to lose her. She galloped into town as fast as she could, calling out to anyone who would listen. "It's coming!"
