Nuclear Weapons Ownership?

Oh yeah living in constant fear is fantastic!

hint: no it's not
Well it's fantastic for us, because.. nobody gets ideas for world domination. XD
Ok, scratch that. They still have the ideas, but don't exercise them out of the fear of being blown to pieces.

If these people live in constant fear of being nuked, because they attack other countries, and kill people for their own stupid reasons; then I think that fear is well deserved.

Well that's because America used to sound more and more like a cartoon villain who'd already achieved world domination (and doing a pretty shit job at that). We don't want to steal your spotlight.

Frankly, I think this is ridiculous. Imagine if North Korea managed to build a rocket that reached America (it wont, their rockets are absolute shit on account of the fact that they use ancient Soviet technology and third-world implements. I'm only (very) concerned about South Korea myself), I imagine the USA's first reaction would be to bomb the hell out of NK, tap themselves on the back for a job well done and grab a pint.

Only it's not like that. The people in North Korea don't want to kill others because of stupid reasons, they're constantly scared. You can't bloody threaten an entire population with an impeding nuclear holocaust when the overwhelming majority of it doesn't even have enough to eat, let alone know what the hell is going on outside the country (most don't even now what's going on inside the country, for god's sake).

North Korea is, by far, one of the very few countries I actively want outside involvement in. It's a fucking farce of a land ruled by a horrible man ("To rebuild a glorios nation, only 30% of the people would have to survive") and I can't believe the American World Polizei, in all its wisdom, hasn't grasped this opportunity yet. I mean, here you've got a country which is an actual threat (to South Korea anyway), commits slow genocide on its own people and generally is a complete Mickey Mouse La-La Land and you guys invade places like Iraq?

If you're gonna play World Police, please do something that helps other people instead of your oil supplies. Please?

EDIT: wait you're Canadian, Canada doesn't have any nuclear weapons what the

Nuclear weapons are only good for one thing.

Destruction.

As such they don't belong here.

Well correct me if i'm wrong, but unless they were disposed of you guys should still have plenty of nukes. Why don't you take matters into your own hands for a change?

If you hate America so much then stop relying on them or expecting them to help; if your country wants to help Korea, tell america first and then go handle it yourself.
Oh yeah, your country probably cares as little for Korea as America does.

and I don't blame them for worrying about their "oil" at the moment, because their exchange rate is appauling. XD

Mmmh yes I had forgotten about Belgium's massive nuclear arms reserve

And what I'm saying is that if you have to shit up everything at least shit up a country that needs it. Belgium and Portugal won't do anything because well, they don't meddle with foreign affairs nowadays.
You guys on the other hand have a huge history of doing just that so please go right ahead.

Why is America (and others, but they're the assholes, so we'll focus on them) allowed to have 50 billion nukes, but whenever another country (that didn't sign the non-proliferation act) starts developing them, America and even the U.N. sometimes are all over them?

"Blarg, you're a threat to the world. Stop or we'll stop you."

Yay, expertise in this subject... The US nuclear stockpile is mostly a warning. Sure, it's a functional stockpile, but it's a remaining aspect of the cold war era. The idea lies mostly in the idea of MAD. Because when you've got a weapon that can wipe out a nation, that nation is a lot less likely to threaten you with their version of your weapon.

In my career field, we like to call the troops that maintain the nuclear stockpile 'nuke polishers' Because that's all they do, really. Keep them all clean and shiny. The regulations involved in such close quarters and handling of them is astounding, though. All nuclear certified equipment used to handle and touch a nuclear weapon has to be maintained in immaculate condition. They will literally class a trailer with a small scratch in the paint 'unserviceable' and cannot be used anywhere near a nuclear weapon until the appropriate repairs are made. The US military is exceedingly anal about its nuclear weapons. Forget your passcode to get into a nuclear weapons bay? Drop to the ground immediately or you will get shot...

Because of this extremely protective approach, the US government is a bit hesitant about other countries putting nukes on the assembly line. Considering most of these countries in question are in conflict areas doesn't help that much, either.

Makes me happy I'm munitions systems instead of nuke systems, so I don't need to go near them. I just get to play with normal missiles and bombs.

(For the Record, South Korea and the vast majority of its citizens love the US and fully support the US bases there protecting them from North Korea. As such, it's one of the most popular places for US military to go, because the people there are wonderful. ^^ )
