[OOC and Sign-Ups] Secrets of the Clow

Sylph

Take me to Wonderland
In a shadowed room, lightly scented with faint jasmine and lilac incense, a grown young woman sits in a large cushioned chair, a table before her where a single book rests. The woman rests her hand on the face of the book, lightly stroking the symbol that dominated the book’s cover.

“Mewro Faros…”

The symbol of the book glows brilliantly under her touch, a single orb of light phasing out of the book. Second by second, the orb unfolds and moulds into a small figure as to fit in the small room without fear of knocking anything over. The Woman held out her hand under the moulded orb and awaits for the small kitten-like creature to alight on her hand. The small kitten looks up at her, a small smile on his pink face.

“You called, Mistress?”

The Woman smiles down at him, petting one of his ears lightly, a sad look in her eyes. Mewro Faros looks up at her concerned, wrapping his arms around her hand.

“Why are you so saddened, Mistress…?”

The woman chuckles sadly, drawing her hand toward her and places a soft kiss on his head.

“Mewro…please, at this time, call me Shana.”

“…This is serious. Shana, are you sick?”

She chuckles, pulling Mewro into a small hug. She then looks over the book, petting the space between his wings.

“…I’ve grown quite old…not in body but in spirit and mind. I’ve learned so much about this world of yours and the cards. Magic, spells, beings of great power beyond that of Pokemon. But it has come…the time for all this fun to end and this magic to change hands to another worthy of your power. Though parting will cause much sadness, I will never forget you and the time we have spent together.”

Shana opens the book before her and takes out a single deck of cards from the hollow cavity of the book’s pages. She lifts the deck to eye level and smiles, whispering the name of one of the cards to do her bidding.

“Windy.”

A sudden gust of wind rips through the room, catching only the cards in her hand and scattering them briefly in the air of the room before disappearing all together.

But in her outstretched hand, seven cards remained still.

“…You seven stayed. Why?”

Mewro chuckles under his breath, flying up to her face and tapping her nose lightly.

“Windy, Firey, Watery, Earthy, Light, Dark, and Create. These are the seven most powerful cards…thus will not simply leave. They will remain with you until a worthy successor appears before you and them…and best you at the final test.”

“…Is Mue the final test?”

The small feline creature laughs, shaking his head before pointing toward the woman.

“No Shana. You will be the final test…and your appearance will be not unlike that of Mue. You will be the guardian…and the only one to decide the most worthily of successors.”

Shana smiles down at him, resting her chin in her hand.

“I sent the cards out to find my successor. How many are you expecting?”

“Only fate can tell how many are now drawn into this matter, Young Mistress Shana.”

-------------------------------------------

You were once a normal trainer, or maybe you were a normal citizen or someone of another profession. Whoever you may be or have been, be it average and good or a victim to the criminal system, you are now given a great power. However you may have obtained it, you now hold one of the cards that were scattered all over the earth.

You were drawn to the region of Kanto, the home of the current master. Your mission is to collect all the cards, or at least most of them if you feel you can not steal from another Captor. Each card has a power of its own, with it’s own usefulness and weaknesses. You will have to bond with the spirit within your card, which has taken the form of a worldly Pokemon, and use it to tame wild cards, and win tamed cards from others. The Card Spirit is known by a marking on their body, the only way to tell them apart from the norm without seeing their mighty power.

Each of the Chosen Captors also receives a staff, the head of which takes the shape of a flying type. This staff is…a Pokeball of sorts, allowing you to control and capture the Card Spirits. The staff will shrink into a piece of jewellery when not in use; a necklace, a ring, a pendant. You must carry it with you at all times, to defend yourself and call your Spirit to your aid.

Your mission is to now rise to the top and become the Clow Master, holding every Clow Spirit and guarding the book that holds them from evil. Whatever your reasons behind doing it…

Rules:

-Godmodding, one liners, and chat speak will get you thrown out of here. I’m serious, it’s annoying.
- You can lose your card. It happens. It’s up to you if you want to get another. Be it stealing it from another Captor or risking capturing one in the wild.
- I’m not afraid to snap some twigs and drown a char bundle or two.
- You start with one card. The card will be given to you based on your sign-up. FMC will be handing out half the cards and I’ll be handing out the other half.
- No. You can not say you magically captured a card…well, ok, you used magic, but you can’t say “I hit with staff and caught, derp!”. It takes effort and actual skill to catch stuff you know.
- Shana has the seven strongest cards. She will be using the Create card to put you through challenges at her whim. Be ready for them.
- If you were a trainer, you can have pokemon with you, they just won’t be doing anything useful in catching the cards. They would just be props and stuff…and maybe drag your bloody ass to a hospital when you fail a capture…or anger the card.
- If you have a team, no legendaries. That’s just cheap.
- If you are a criminal, I’d like to know how you became one. I’m curious.

Name: Silver Stone
Age: 12
Gender: Male

Appearance: Silver is a tall and skinny boy, with a sharp-looking face and high cheekbones. His eyes are almond shaped and a dark blue, and his hair is a steel grey, falling to just under his chin. It's usually rather messy looking, and spiked up in the back. He's rather pale, and he always looks well groomed (besides the messy hair). He usually dresses in a black suit with a purple tie and white dress shirt under the expensive blazer.

Personality: Silver is very proper, and can seem a bit stuffy and snobbish at first glance. He hates getting dirty, and wears that suit of his everywhere, insisting he must be ready for a formal gathering at all times. He's incredibly intelligent, but seems to lack the ability to know when to use his smarts, and is terrible at making decisions. He's used to being waited on, coming from a wealthy family, and won't hesitate to throw his money around.

Biography: As the heir to the Stone business (and fortune), Silver was taught to be proper from a young age. He was also taught the ins and outs of using steel type by his father, Steven. He was raised in wealth, waited on hand and foot, and never lacked much of anything. This made him a tad snobby, despite his father's attempts to educate the boy.

Staff: Skarmory - The head of the staff is shaped like a Skarmory's head, a large yellow gem instead of the eye. The shaft of the staff is about three feet long when extended fully, and a silver-grey, like the rest of it. The end has a smaller yellow gem set in it, and is shaped like a Skarmory tail. It's jewellery form is that of a large silver ring.

How You Met Your Card: Silver me The Wood in the large forest just outside his father's Rustboro branch of the company, while he was on a picnic with his parents. He had wandered off, and smacked right into the Torterra's face. After a short attempt at battling the beast, it let him 'capture' it.

Other: He has the following Pokemon:

[Sputnik] Metang (X) (Shiny)
[Kace] Shieldon (F)
[River] Lairon (M)

By god I haven't used him in ages.

FMC, Accepted. You are given the card "The Wood"

TheWood.png

The Wood has the power to make the trees, bark, roots, etc twist and form at will. The mark on this card in on the face pale...or beak what have you. This card however is known to turn rebellious when under moonlight, attacking for the stronger presence instead.

Take from that what you will.

Name: Auric Peters
Age: 15
Gender: Male

Appearance: Auric is obviously used to a life in the wilderness. He has rough, tanned skin with scars and calluses all over. His tangled black hair can vary greatly in length every time one sees him, since he only thinks of cutting it off when it gets troublesome. He is usually mostly clean, showering at least every other day if he's not out camping, and his teeth aren't decaying, but he has an unpleasant smell. His amber eyes are probably the only things untouched by his life in the wild (because the alternative would be very bad), though he is always alert. He is small and fairly light, but he is fast and fairly strong.

Personality: Auric believes he will, in the future, become an amazing pokemon trainer known by everyone; everything else he does is just a means to an end when it comes to that. He generally optimistic about his own goals, though he has more perspective when it comes to other people. He doesn't like to lose battles and thinks he is an expert. However, he doesn't battle or train much any more, and instead is focusing more on earning money more reliably. He gets bored easily if he isn't doing anything, so he isn't good at much beyond training. He's not great with people, but he isn't terrible, either. While he has limits on what he'd do for money, he is willing to go through great effort for the right reward, although he doesn't sell what he owns if he didn't acquire it with the intent to sell.

Biography: Auric was just another kid who only passed English and math because students weren't allowed to fail, not paying attention because he was just looking forward to becoming a trainer. As a child, he only really studied pokemon types and moves, and watched heroes battling at the major league battles. He left as soon as he reached his tenth birthday, having persuaded his mother to buy him a squirtle, and left with the promise that he'd become the Pokemon Master by the end of the year.

He didn't, of course. Ten year olds never actually won the major leagues; there were tournaments for beginners, with under two years of experience, but that was all. Auric wasn't that good, anyway, but he was pretty decent, and his pokemon were strong. He decided he'd just do it next year, and continued training, since he'd gotten enough badges to legally stop going to school. Besides, what else was he going to do? He wasn't an academic person, and he hated the people who stuck around, the ones who gave him irritated glares when he didn't get mathematical concepts just by staring at the board. He loved travel, too, and he liked his pokemon a lot.

The problem was, he never actually had any instruction in living off the land, so he had to buy things from stores, and the most common trainers - ten year olds just starting out - had too little money and wouldn't fight an older kid anyway. Anyone better was too good. He might have turned to a life of crime, but he was still dreaming of being a hero, maybe, some day, becoming famous because of his amazing team. He stuck to the legal stuff instead, helping people out, checking out suspicious locations that were low-priority for police, helping capture the occasional criminal, and especially rescuing people. If he was given a place, and something for Orange to sniff, that was enough, and he'd get there within two days with a supply of food and water. An older trainer who introduced him to the concept taught him basic lifesaving techniques that could keep a guy alive until the paramedics came, and Auric managed to get through a few days of mind-numbing boredom to get the actual certification. After that, money flowed just enough; he could support himself if he bought things second-hand or on sale. He encountered more than a few dangerous characters on the way, but he dealt with this by learning to fight with sticks or fists, as well as always keeping Red outside its pokeball.

Staff: Murkrow - The metre-long staff is apparently made of polished black wood that sometimes looks like stone. One end of the staff curves forward, and a pointed yellow structure resembling a beak juts out. Red gems, resembling eyes, are embedded on either side of the top of the beak. On top of the staff, there appears to be a brimmed hat with three points. It can transform into a short gold chain.

How You Met Your Card: TBA

Pokemon:
[Orange] Arcanine (M) Flash Fire
[Blue] Blastoise (M) Torrent
[Red] Ditto (X) Limber

The Fight can grant his caster and their Pokemon immense strength for a short period of time. He is very competitive, seeking to fight better and stronger opponents. His mark is over his right eye.

Name: Torei
Age: 12
Gender: Female

Appearance: She is a rather short girl and on the plump side of the body shape. She has short mousy brown hair pulled into two short pig-tails on either side of her neck's nape. Her eyes are sky blue and she has a tanned skin tone that suggests a tropic lifestyle. She is 4'10'' in height, wears what appears to be a hat fashioned to look like a Munchlax eating her head, a short blue dress with a white belt holding her pokemon, and yellow tights that end at mid thigh and black sandals. She has a light brown messenger bag worn across his chest, fasted with a Gyrados fang from her Grandpa's Pokemon Red.

Personality: She is a very upbeat and energetic girl, often told of being "spunky". She is very strong willed like her Granny and will never give up once her mind is set on something. She is claimed to have "Monster Strength" for a girl her age, and those people would be right. Despite her small appearance, she is very strong in body. She is the type to walk over to one of her friends and punch their arm in greeting, only to watch them clutching their arm and exclaiming that it hurt.

She had strength, she just doesn't quite know how to use it yet.

She has a deep love for pokemon and Folklore, both passed down to her from her grandparents, spending her days watching and learning from the pokemon and reading old books about pokemon of myth.

Biography: She has lived on a far-off island in the tropics, raised by her grandpa and grandma, up till the point where her granny had to leave for personal business back in her home Region. Not long after the departure of her granny, she found a odd key on a necklace on her pillow.

Through she may dress like a child in a family that gets average pay, in reality her family is very wealthy. Coming from a family of business people, her Granny inherited a large portion of her father’s company when she moved out to the tropics with Torei’s grandfather and started a branch in the main city. It was through her granny that Torei met Silver and his family, her granny and Sliver’s father were old friends from their trainer days.

Raised the way she was, she never acted spoiled do to her family’s wealth and treated it as a nice thing to have when you want some candy and poke’supplies. A polar opposite from her friend Silver in that respect. Despite this, they are thicker than thieves.

Staff: The staff has the head of a Ho-oh with a large smooth gem as a eye that changes colors in the light, a long rainbow coloured shaft, and ends in a coil of the ho-oh’s tail feathers with another large smooth stone that changed colours.

When it is in it’s dormant state, it is a small key on a necklace around Torei’s neck.

How You Met Your Card: While walking along the edge of her jungle home, she noticed a small little critter sleeping under a tree. She quickly ran up to it and found that it was a small Munchlax with a odd little dot on it's belly. Excited to have a friend for Nibbles, she picked it up and carried it off. Oddly enough, the Munchlax didn't mind being carried off. It was later that Torei learned of it's true nature of being one of those odd cards.

Other:

[Nibbles] Munch lax (M)

Nibbles is a happy little Munchlax that loves to eat and store food in his fur. Him and Torei met each other when they were partaking in some honey some silly person spilled on a sweet smelling tree.

[Swift] Eevee (F)
Ability: Run away.

Swift is a young little Eevee that has only been alive for a few weeks. Torei found her and her sisters in the wild, watching their mother try to fight off a large Serviper. *Attempts Transmutation on thread*

Live damn it!

Anyways...guys, get your forms in please, I want to start this thing soon.

hell, if you want, make another character if no one else wants to join this. But be sure you know you can handle two characters.

Name:Simon Buck
Age:13
Gender:Male

Appearance: Simon has brown-blond hair which is usually just left as bed-head. He has green eyes and wears brown glasses. He wears a red hoodie and jeans most of the time. He has a pretty average body shape, albeit a bit tall. He has lanky arms so his hoodie doesn't really come down to his wrist.

Personality:Simon is pretty much your average schoolchild. He's not smart, but not dumb either. He reads a lot of books in his spare time, and likes computers. He is a good cook but is a bit picky about what he eats. He is a bit lazy, preferring to stay at home than to go out.

Biography:Simon lived in Goldenrod City. Simon went to public school, learning how to raise Pokemon, moves, types, abilities and most subjects you would expect from a school.

When he received his card and staff, he left home, saying he was going on a journey, took his Pokemon out of storage, and caught the magnet train to Saffron City.

Staff: His staff has the head of a Dodrio an the staff with a brown shaft at the top which turns black at the bottom. The eyes are small purple gems. It turns into a wristband when not in use.

How You Met Your Card: Simon found his card just after finding his staff. The small, wooden Xatu he had on his desk seemed a bit different on the day after finding the weird wristband, but he ignored it. Later, when his mother shouted at him to ask him whether he was doing homework, he lied and said yes. He carried on playing with his Anorith. His Anorith looked round to the table and started squeaking in a high pitched tone, something it did when it was worried. Simon looked at what all the fuss was about, and saw his Xatu's head had turned a weird shade of yellow. He scrambled up to see it properly, and this time noticed the mark on it's forehead. Over the net few days, he studied it carefully, eventually finding the nature of the card.

The Little can shrink anything by a touch into a miniature version of itself. The shrinking wears off after a day, or if the card reverses it. It's mark is on it's chest 'bib'.

Psymon:

The Libra can determine if one is lying or not. When someone lies near it, it's head feathers will turn yellow. It's mark is on it's forehead.

Mendatt Aerians
15
Mostly male.

Has long dark green hair and dark blue eyes. Quite tall, and always wears robes, though what color they are varies, and he always is barefoot. He looks human until you notice that his hands have small bulges of metal on the back, and his fingernails are silver claws.

He likes food in general, and has a... eh... Unnaturally potent metabolism. He eats a lot. He uses no contractions when speaking, and has a higher voice than the avarage male. He has extreme control over his emotions, so much that it has become a reflex for him not to show them. He very loyal to anyone who can call him friend, which, due to his apparent lack of emotions, is a very small group of people.

Mendatt is mostly human, but his grandfather was a lucario, and a dragon-type pokemon is somewhere in his bloodline as well. His family blames it on inherent madness that comes out every few generations and tries to ignore it. He has a very small telepathic ability, so small that it is almost merely empathic, and is unable to communicate telepathically with anyone he does not know well. He is very light, and can jump quite a distance, but weaker than the average human, however little sense that makes. For some reason, he is only partially male.

His staff is long and wooden, with lines of silver inlaid in it winding around it counterclockwise, and a silver Rayqauza winding around it clockwise. The silver rayquaza has blue gems for eyes, and where the lines would be, they are gold instead of red.

The staff turns into a silver hairpiece with a blue gem when not in use. When going to a formal occasion, he braids his hair and uses the hairpiece to wind the braids around his head like a crown with the hairpiece on the from, but when not going to a formal occasion, he just uses it to keep his hair in a ponytail, or rather, two ponytails that both hang down the back of his neck.

How You Met Your Card: (Edit this in when you are told what yours is.)

Hi. I'd like to say that I really wished you kept the form the way it was. Like...Where it says "Bio: ______", I'd like the Bio part to stay in. It keeps everything clear and I'll know when one part ends and another begins. Please.

Name: Celeste Wilder
Age: 13
Gender: Female

Appearance: Celeste is a tiny girl, barely stretching over the five-foot mark. She's petite frame-wise as well, with a flat, boyish figure and only the barest hint of curves. She doesn't appear unhealthy but she's a bit of a waif. Her hair however is very long, thick and wavy and she loves it like it's her baby. ... Inanimate baby. Whatever. It's golden-brown and reaches down to her waist, with straight bangs covering her forehead. Her eyes are brown and her clothes vary, obviously, but she tends to look at least quite fashionable. (She can afford to do this. Trust me, she's never gone camping or had to leave home.)

Except maybe that weird fluffy hat she has.

Personality: More than likely, after five minutes of being stuck with Celeste you'll start wanting to throw her out a window. The obnoxiousness that most seven-year-olds have already grown out of, she still has in massive quantities and she's hardly afraid to show it. She's bold and very outspoken and if you try to argue with her, you'll just get your head bitten off. Even if you're right, you're wrong. Trust me, you should probably just go with that.

She constantly asks irritating questions and often answers them herself (although these answers are always hideously wrong), so if you happen to have some sort of abnormality be warned that she'll be picking at you about it for days. Her interactions with people aren't always the most positive, but she does love talking to at them about absolutely everything. If you're insane enough to be her friend, she's less abrasive. A little.

However, more positively, she is very independent and is hardly a lazy person – she doesn't like sitting around doing nothing and is generally rather organised. It helps when you're an outspoken kind of person.

She might be special and magical, but Celeste's really more interested in the performing arts – that is to say, Pokémon contests. This whole card-capturing business is a bit iffy for her, really. She does, however, quite like the challenge... and who backs down from things like that? Wimps, that's what! Who, rather.

Biography: Celeste comes from Lilycove City in Hoenn and as such has been brought up watching contests. She's always done pretty well in school – even though she doesn't always pay a lot of attention to schoolwork, her organisation skills tend to let her get her homework done anyway – and as such she never really had the drive to go on a Pokémon journey or anything like that. Her parents weren't trainers either, so it's not even a family thing.

However, when she turned 13 she decided that she really wanted to go visit the Kanto region – and because everyone in the Pokémon universe doesn't seem to mind pre-teens going off into the wild by themselves, go there she did! Of course she was given a Pokémon for her tenth birthday who went with her for protection. Swablu are totally hardcore, shut up.

Staff: Togekiss – The head of the staff has three rather dangerous-looking white feather-shaped prongs curving out of it, the left tipped with blue and the right with red. At the base of these prongs there's a clear gem set in the end, which has a swirled pattern inside it. It's really quite pretty. The shaft of the staff is white, with swirled red and blue patterns until the handle. If it didn't have massive wing-shaped things bursting out of the middle it would probably look very boring. The handle has raised intricate patterning on it, so much that you'd think it would be rather uncomfortable to hold after a while. Unlike most of the captor staffs, it doesn't really look very much like the Pokémon it's supposed to resemble. It transforms into a wing-shaped pendant necklace.

How You Met Your Card: After receiving Electra as her 'starter Pokémon' (for all intents and purposes), Celeste got into the whole idea of BEING AN AWESOME TRAINER for a little bit. Of course, this involved leaving the safe haven of Lilycove City and wandering around the routes surrounding the waters leading to Mt Pyre. Finding a Kecleon by the riverside with a funny pattern on it, she went into ninja mode and tried to sneak up on it. Needless to say this ended horribly, and three hours later and a lot of scratches she was totally dragging this mo'fo' home. Also there was that thing when it turned into a freaking card. She was sorta mad about that.

Pokémon: Electra/SWABLU [F] | Natural Cure
Electra is sort of grumpy and bad-tempered. You don't mess with her or Celeste, man. She should've probably evolved a while ago but due to both sheer stubbornness and the fact that she likes sleeping on Celeste's head this hasn't happened yet. How sad.

Boomer/NIDORINO [M] | Poison Point
Celeste caught Boomer by accident, actually – he sort of got smacked in the face with a Great Ball that she'd won in the Trainer ID contest and was particularly unhappy with. He's a happy kind of chap, but he's not very good at fighting. He's really quite glad his trainer(?) doesn't like the whole badge-collecting thing.

Other: I laughed the entire time writing the staff description. :C

Mine is not a trainer.:sweatdrop:
But if that argument fails... I will try to think up another... It does not give him any extra powers or anything.
That came out oddly... I meant think up another trainer. I mean character. You know what I mean...
And sorry about changing the bio. Template thing. I keep editing this post.

When writing how we met our cards, can the Clow Cards manifest in a toy of their Pokemon? I have a cool idea about a toy Xatu for mine, so i wanted to know.

Yep, sure.

Also!

Jessie:

change.png

The Change can switch the minds of two people who come in contact with it at the same time. They switch back if they come in contact again, and if they stay swapped longer than 24 hours, it is permanent. The Change is mischievous and runs very fast and likes to hide. Its mark is on its belly stripe.

Name: Liza
Age: 13
Gender: Female

Appearance: Liza has very bright red, curly hair of average length and bright green eyes. She is pretty skinny and bony, but has a very round face. She has always thought that she would look better if her face was more ovular and her cheeks were less chubby-looking, but she doesn't plan on going under the knife anytime soon.

Personality: Liza is energetic, and determined. She is also very proud, and the one thing she hates most is being underestimated. She feels a constant desire to prove herself, and would do almost anything on a dare. In fact, she has been known to break limbs on dares, such as jumping out of a tree (though not on the top branch). She is a bit hot-headed, and would do even things so childish as sticking out her tongue or daring things like putting a venomous snake in someone's bed to get back at people.

Biography: Liza's family, while not being filthy rich or even rich, was in the upper part of middle class, having a nice bit of money to spare on birthday presents and the like. She grew up with two younger siblings: Jennie, who is four years younger than Liza, and Nick, who came two years later. She was fairly popular at school, often being able to give out small gifts like candies to her friends.

On her tenth birthday, she was given a Poke Ball, which contained a Charmander. Delighted, she named him Tage. She was able to head out on her journey only a few days later, with her birthday being in the middle of July. She first competed in the Indigo League, earning all eight badges over time but failing the preliminaries of the League. At 11, she visited her family for a short while, celebrated Christmas with them, and then took the train to Jhoto to train there. She once again earned all eight badges, and this time did fairly better in the League, though still not getting any fancy title or anything.

She then headed to Hoenn after turning 12, earning a total of 3 badges so far, mostly due to a lack of Water types to Surf with and her discovery of Pokemon Contests, which she enjoys, though not as much as battling.

Staff: Liza's staff is a Charizard, which is coincidentally her favorite Pokemon. A rather angry-looking model of the Pokemon's head is perched on top, with rubies for eyes. Just below this are a pair of beautifully carved draconic wings in the position a Charizard keeps them in while resting. About three-quarters of the way down the staff, a Charizard tail begins to branch off, spiraling down the lower part of the staff and tapering to a point. It has some almost lifelike flames at the tip, carved from a wood made up of a mixture of orange and yellow flames, which differ wildly from the light tan wood that the staff is carved out of. The staff itself is a tiny bit on the thick side. In dormant form, it is a pair of ruby earrings.

How You Met Your Card: Sometime while wandering in Hoenn, Liza came across a little Riolu, with a crescent moon on his forehead. At first, Liza just ignored it, thinking that it was just some lost Pokemon, but it kept following her. She eventually asked what it wanted, and it made a happy little noise, jumped into the air, and turned into some kind of card. Confused at first, Liza just kind of stared at it, but managed to accept the odd transformation and kept the card.

Other: Liza's favorite types are Fire types, by the way. And no, I didn't model this off the anime character. In fact, I just noticed the resemblence.
