Remembrance Day Parade

So, on Sunday, I'll be participating in the Rememberance Parade in my town, now that I'm in the ATC (Air Training Corps/The Air Cadets). I'm kind of nervous; I was going to put this in the Coughing Cupboard but... I decided not. XD I guess it will be an interesting experience.

We'll basically be marching through town (hopefully not doing too much turning and stuff because I'm really shit at commands like that) with traffic stopped and like, the whole town staring at us. XD That'll be fun... .__. My friends have delighted in the fact that they'll come and cackle at me.

The bad thing is, I need to get all my uniform ready before then, because I got my uniform late. Which means that before Sunday, I need to hem my skirt, polish my shoes to the extreme, iron EVERYTHING with perfect creases in the right places, learn how to do the Windsor knot and bun my hair all properly and neatly (will take forever since my hair is so long and thick) AND shape my beret. Which I am doing now (this consists of soaking it in water and shaping it, and then plopping it on your head for two hours. XD)

Wish me luck~!

Re: Rememberance Day Parade

*wishing luck* I remember when I went on my first Remembrance Parade. Only thing to remember is to wiggle your toes when you are standing at attention and stuff; otherwise you might faint, and that hurts...

Thank you~!

Yeah, I've been encouraged to do that. There's actually someone assigned with the role of helping those who faint out of the parade. o_o

I'm part of the Scouts, yeah I know what am I still doing in there. I'll be doing it in Wickford

Good luck!

How long will the parade take? All you Air Cadets-types always look so swishy in those parades, with your shiny-shiny shoes and things XD
Hope you have a great time :D

Whoo~ And the parade is done. And it was awesome but I totally messed up at the start. Everyone was marching and I was like LEFT, WHICH LEFT!? but I got there in the end~

It was about an hour and a half, most of that time spent listening to loads of prayers and hymns and stuff. But we did do a lot of marching. I was late so I had to sneak in and talk to Ma'am and get her to do my stupid thick hair in a bun. XD And then my aunt ran in with a poppy for me while we were all in line. It was so embarrassing having my family all grin at me and take pictures at really annoying moments. XDD The downsides of having an RAF family.

Thanks, everybody~! And yes Danni, we sure do look so swishy. 8D Except I didn't have shiny shoes, my shoes haven't arrived yet because I have a really awkward shoe size. So I had to do it in my school shoes. XDD It was AWESOME walking home though, with my lovely beret, everyone just staring and going *___*

I just went in with my Squad, and our GelTex jackets made us sound like a clone army. Also, there was this guy in Church sung really loud and nearly deafened us. And after that Army(Pongos), Sea(Cowards), Scouts(wannabes) and St. Johns(crappy berets according to Sarge) left us. Probably because we had the most numbers by far(5-ish for Scouts, 4 Army, 2 Sea, and 7 St.Johns, while we're 20) and we looked smarter.

THEN the Army guy who was supposed to tell us we were allowed into the buffet forgot, and so we went hungry for 15 minutes more. Also we had a bit of fun with Coke cans.

Also I'm the only male Cadet who knew how to do a Full Windsor knot which was a massive egoboost.

What Squadron are you?
