Arena- The Record Bakery

Well, The Record Bakery is aiming to break a world record (unsurprisingly), so all around the arena room are plates and plates of pastries. There is a 10% chance that a Pokemon will be tempted out of attacking by all of those delicious pastries, and a 5% chance that a pokemon will bump into a table, spilling pastries. When pastries are spilled, the store owner will come out, shake a fist, and throw a rock at a random pokemon, dealing 5% damage.

Fire pokemon will have a +2 attack, since the room is filled with steaming hot pastries, and hey, the oven's next door.

Then, sure let's send out Castform.

Ah, use Hail, for the heck of it, to pelt Mareep and transform. Then use Powder Snow, and finish with a Chill if Mareep attacks first, and if you attack first, use Weather Ball.

Hail~Powder Snow~Chill/Weather Ball.

Ehh, Hail? In an oven? That would be creepy.

OK. We'll take the defensive. Light Screen, Reflect, then Magnet Rise.

Oh, and Minkow and I will be sure to overload you with reffings :P Thaks, anyway.

Within the Record Bakery, business continues per usual, the employees bustling about their menial tasks, tossing dough and chopping up fruit. At the entrance, two trainers arrive and shake hands. They head inside and greet the owner of the bakery, and their referee, and head to a slightly over warm room. There are twenty tables laid out in a 4 by 5 configuration, and on each are pans and pans of piping hot pastries. The trainers and referee look enviously at the pastries as the owner heads off to check on something else.

Scyther tosses a pokéball in front of him, releasing a Mareep. The sheep takes a sniff of the pastries, but doesn't go for any. Yet. She looks at her trainer for reassurance and lets out a small baa.

Minkow extends his hand and sends out his Castform. The small gray blob of pokémon hovers and moves above a table of pastries, licking her lips in excitement.

The battle begins, and Castform is the first to act. She closes her eyes and is motionless as an aura of blue energy gathers around her. Moments later, the aura shoots upward and spreads out over the entire room. Little drops of ice and snow start to fall, and as they do, Castform takes a different shape. She is a tad more wispy and has turned from dull grey to shades of blue and purple.

As Castform transforms, Mareep goes into action, summoning a wall of psychic energy in front of her. She continues this and summons another shield of energy around her.

As the psychic energy screens flicker in the hail, Castform moves forward and summons a flurry of snow. She leans back and then blows forward at the mareep. Mareep's shielding blocks the attack, reflecting it away and causing it to dissipate when it hits the side wall. As Castform begins another attack, gathering a ball of grey energy, Mareep slowly begins casting a platform of cackling electricity underneath her. As Mareep does this, she slowly begins to rise up until she's hovering over the ground. Meanwhile, Castform throws the ball of energy upwards and it ricochets off the ceiling, absorbing energy from the hailstorm and bouncing down towards Mareep. It hits the mareep's shields and while some of it has been deflected, most of it gets through to the inner shield. Again, some of it bounces off, but a large portion of it hits the electric-type sheep pokémon.

~ Focusing on maintaining energy, hovering slightly off the ground.

Ref Notes
  • Scyther attacks first this round.
  • Light Screen + Reflect is energy-expensive, but it prevented a good bit of damage.

Use Rain Dance,Thunderbolt, then Thunder. If Castaform protects or something, chill.

Get rid of that Rain Dance by using Sunny Day, don't want you to transform into something weak to Mareep, then knock that sheep over with a Solar Beam, if it rains, use Protect and finally, chill. If raining throw another Protect.

Sunny Day~Solar Beam/Protect~Chill/Protect

Indeed. My apologies for the delay.

The trainers issue their next commands and the two pokemon move into action, careful to not be distracted by or knock over any pastries. Mareep, still hovering, summons a cackling thunderstorm above with a strange, arcane dance. It starts to rain, and as it does, Castform changes form. Mareep smiles with glee, given that she now has a type advantage. However, Minkow and her Castform have the edge, for as the rain picks up, Castform summons a different weather, causing the sun to shine through the ceiling windows. The rain stops, pooling up along the floor and on tables and in pastries, and once again Castform transforms, this time she appears similar to the sun, an orange-yellow ball with smaller ray-esque balls around her. She sits on a wispy white platform as she begins drawing energy from the sun for her next attack.

As Castform holds position, summoning a beam of solar energy, Mareep precariously maintains her defenses as she summons her own attack, a bolt of electricity that cackles and dances. It strikes downwards towards Castform as she releases her own attack. A massive beam of bright energy jumps towards Mareep, and in her shield drops away as her focus breaks. The attack's damage is still diminished by the psychic shield in front of her, but Mareep winces in pain as she summons a larger ball of electricity, eying the pastries and her opponent.

Castform merely floats, bobbing up and down slightly, basking in the sun. She eyes the pastries warily but holds her position, closing her eyes as she recovers some energy. She keeps her eyes closed even as a large column of electricity strikes her. Her altitude falters and she almost falls upon a pastry, but she slowly rises up again and holds her position. Moments later, she opens her eyes, perky and refreshed, and looks to Minkow for her next move.

Ref Notes
  • Castform beat out Mareep with the weather moves because she's the weather pokemon.
  • Castform recovered 10% via Chill.
  • Minkow attacks first, then Scyther, then I show up some time and ref.
