Well, it's not really a weather machine.
The stage itself is simple: Earth. The ground is firm but Pokemon can easily use dig and such moves. There is a pond near that is easily accessible to aquatic Pokemon.
The magic in this stage, however, is the weather. After every two turns, the weather will change between very sunny, raining, hailing, and, somehow, sandstorm.
Any Pokemon is allowed, but be wary of the weather's effects. This one should be fun to ref, also.

Upon hearing her trainer’s commands, Stantler rose to her feet. This wasn’t exactly her idea of a fun battle, but hey, whatever works. She lowered her antlers, pointing them menacingly at Carls, before concentrating and channeling bug-type energy through them. Flashing red and blue lights began to form at the tips, droning and quivering until the large deer had charged the attack as much as she could. The beams shot forward, Stantler’s head snapping back slightly, and the two rays entwined as they hit Carls on the side. The dog whined, shook her head slightly, and settled it back on her paws.
As the lights faded away, the dog began to mutter. Stantler tensed, thinking that she had awakened her, but her eyes remained closed. Slowly she rose to her paws, and, still muttering, began to summon spherical shapes around her body. The orbs kept circling, faster and faster, changing colour as they went, before turning a deep, solid green and shooting into Stantler. While most of the spheres slammed into the deer’s shoulder and flank, two or three hit some sensitive spots on the head, drawing a grunt of pain from her. After completing the attack, Carls collapsed and started snoring again. A little drool escaped from the corner of her mouth and dribbled onto the soil.
Stantler was rather miffed at this.
Attacking while sleeping? She must be hacking
. Yes, that must be it! It took her a few moments to realize that the discomfort of the sandstorm had dwindled, to be replaced by intensifying rays from the sun. The already humid air heated up a few degrees, causing Carls to pant in her sleep.
The Poochyena didn’t seem to be muttering and firing puny, weird spheres every which direction, and Stantler, taking this as a sign of encouragement, began to charge more bug-type energy in her horns. She took aim and fired, this one nailing Carls’ left shoulder. Just as the attack connected, she stood up, the Signal Beam still biting at her leg, and began to murmur under her breath once more. This time, though, she seemed set on revenge: dark energy fueled by the desire to take vengeance gathered around the Poochyena’s paws and teeth. Stantler backed away slightly, taken aback by the display of hostility, before her opponent was upon her. Relentless clawing and biting ensued, the sting of the wounds made sharper by the bitter aura lacing the blows. Try as she might, Stantler couldn’t fend off her still-sleeping aggressor, so she curled up as best as she could and took the blows. As suddenly as it began, the assault stopped, and Carls fell back down in a heap – right on top of her opponent. The deer grimaced and none too kindly pushed the little puppy off of her.
Carls hit the ground roughly and slid a foot or two before coming to a halt. This time, instead of slumbering on, she lifted her body off of the ground with a cringe. Man, did she feel battered. And since when did she get so bushed? There was no time to ponder about that, though; out of the corner of her eye she saw Stantler start to wave her antlers around in a hypnotic motion. In reply, the Poochyena threw up a translucent green shield. Though the two Pokemon were making eye contact, the psychic pulses that Stantler was sending bounced off of the barrier, and Carls’ only followed the deer’s motions with a mocking expression.

Oh, and about the red light thing in the first reffing, I coulda sworn that in the anime, Pokemon came out in a red light. But it's been ages (literally) since I've watched it, so I may be wrong. Thanks for pointing that out, anyway.
