Well, it's not really a weather machine.

The stage itself is simple: Earth. The ground is firm but Pokemon can easily use dig and such moves. There is a pond near that is easily accessible to aquatic Pokemon.

The magic in this stage, however, is the weather. After every two turns, the weather will change between very sunny, raining, hailing, and, somehow, sandstorm.

Any Pokemon is allowed, but be wary of the weather's effects. This one should be fun to ref, also.

Though sleeping, Carls was still somehow able to hear her trainer’s commands. She stopped tossing around with incoherent mumbles and lay still, her rapid breathing slowing. At the mouth of the tunnel, Stantler had cloaked herself with dark energy which seemed to have a mind of its own: it writhed and rippled as if it was anticipating something. Indeed, just as the slumbering Poochyena began to feel strength flowing back into her limbs, the blackish aura lashed out into the tunnel and engulfed her, leeching away the energy and transferring it to Stantler instead. Carls let out a piteous wail as her strength was drained away, leaving behind a terrible cold instead. In contrast, Stantler was feeling much more chipper, and had to resist the urge to throw a bunch of cocky insults at her opponent.

While Stantler was relishing her stolen energy, Carls groggily blinked her eyes open. She was beyond exhausted at this point, and probably would’ve been tempted to chill even if her trainer didn’t tell her to. As it was, she collapsed back on the floor of her tunnel, doing her best to relax and loosen her muscles. Once again, though, dark energy crept down the tunnel and scooped away the energy Carls so desperately needed. It hung above the dog’s nose for a moment, as if tempting her, before retreating and slithering back to Stantler. As the murky aura around the deer faded, the rainstorm finally let up. The fat drops of water ceased to pound the ground as the gloomy clouds were chased away by a particularly bright sun.

By now, Carls was so frustrated with getting her energy stolen that she couldn’t agree more with her trainer’s commands, tired or not. She dug swiftly with anger-fueled limbs, erupting from the ground in a shower of mud to slam into Stantler’s belly. The deer turned out to be meditating, eyes closed in fierce concentration, so fierce that she only staggered when her opponent rammed into her. The force of the attack guaranteed that there would be a bruise forming in that area, though. After a few more seconds Stantler opened her eyes and stared at Carls, who was too fatigued to stare back.

Sorry. Dragon was always very lenient, and I figured there was no possible way you could have started...

Um, if Carls try's to chill, or uses any move that would prevent me from snatching it, use Snatch. Otherwise, chill yourself.

Welp, that's it. You are gonna faint, anyways, but...

I want you to use Dark Pulse on your first round, and Rock Smash for your two (or one, possibly.) You'll be avenged, my young pup :3

Carls heaved herself to her paws with a grunt of effort. She would’ve liked to rest, but her trainer wanted her to earn it, so earn it she would. Not far from the black dog, Stantler regarded her opponent from the corner of a lazy eye. Her head was lowered in concentration as a murky aura began to gather around her paws. Clearly she wasn’t chilling or bulking up her stats, so the deer settled herself on the ground, spindly legs folded underneath her and head gingerly touching the still-muddy floor. Stantler really wasn’t that tired – in fact, she would rather clobber Carls instead of rest – but even she could see how exhausted her opponent was. Carls would faint eventually, regardless of if she lifted a hoof or not.

Meanwhile, Carls had gathered as many negative thoughts into the shadowy pool around her as she could. With a frustrated cry she released her hold on the shivering energy, causing it to explode outward in a circular pulse. Stantler quivered as the caustic wave, imbued with vindictive thoughts, washed over her, filling her body with an ominous cold and her mind with a colourful array of swear words. The raindrops falling from the now somber sky only added to her shivering.

Shaking off the remaining chill left from the Dark Pulse as well as a few raindrops, Stantler shifted into a more comfortable position before opening her eyes to peer at Carls. The Poochyena was trotting up to her; Stantler shrugged slightly before letting her eyelids fall shut again. Carls took no notice of this and instead drew back a paw and clenched it as well as she could before bringing it down hard just behind the deer’s shoulder. Against her will Stantler gasped: the sheer power of the attack had left a quickly-forming bruise where it struck. She curled up a bit tighter, hoping to shield the tender spot from further attacks.

Carls smirked slightly, glad to finally cause some real damage to the deer, even though her paws were quavering from pure fatigue. Again, she drew back her paw and scrunched the individual toes together to create a makeshift fist. Stantler braced herself as she heard Carls hiss, just before the now rock-hard paw slammed into her shoulderblade. This time the attack was more bearable, but all the same she couldn’t help but cringe. Next to her, Carls had dropped into a crouch, too tired to even stand. Only the adrenaline in her blood kept her from falling over completely. Overhead, the sun valiantly broke through the cloud cover, chasing away the wispy forms and casting brilliant rays of light.

Stantler gave her trainer a slightly perplexed look before cloaking her body with writhing, greedy energy. Surely Carls wouldn’t chill if she saw her preparing a Snatch… Sure enough, the puppy was stumbling to her feet, her eyes narrowed to glittering yellow slits. Her vision was lined with black fringes, reaching out and threatening to drag her into unconsciousness. With one last, huge effort, she lifted a paw off the ground, albeit not as high as before, and made a half hearted paw-fist. With a cry she brought it down, but she was so exhausted that the damage was nowhere near what it should have been. Despite that, Carls had managed to hit Stantler in another one of her weak spots, causing her to whimper and look at the tender skin worriedly. Her energy spent, Carls collapsed on the ground again, and this time she didn’t get back up. The murky edges around her vision creeped forward until she could only see black, and she wasn’t even aware when the white beam of her Pokeball drew her back.

As Carls was drawn back into safety, a whining wind picked up, carrying sand and dirt from some nearby desert. As the sandstorm started whipping through the arena, the clouds overhead stopped their insistent pouring and drew back to reveal a placid sun. Stantler turned her head away from the wind, fearing that sand would get in her eyes, but the unrelenting attack on her exposed side still caused her a fair amount of discomfort.

I reduced Rock Smash’s power due to lack of energy, as well as its likelihood of causing the defense drop by half. Regardless, the Rock Smash lowered Stantler’s defenses.

Use hypnosis, then two dream eaters. Unless Hypnosis misses, in which cas, use hypnosis again on the second turn.

If wee ghostie protects itself in one form or another, preventing you to make it go to sleep, use psychic.

(Ghost Eater(s) for what? Health, energy...?)

Hmm. Well. Use Protect, first turn. Then, Uproar if you're awake, and Sleep Talk if you dozed. Obviously, if you are awake you can't hear me if that Uproar worked so YAKYAKYAKWORDSWORDSWORDS. If you are asleep, again, Slepp Talk.

RandomTyphoon popped Carls’ Pokeball back on her belt, whispering a ‘Good job’ to her unconscious Pokemon before plucking another sphere from the strap. As she threw the Pokeball, a burst of white light erupted from it, quickly taking the shape of her Gastly, Cheshire. The ghost stopped to take a look at his surroundings before turning to his opponent and proceeding to make all sorts of comical faces at the Stantler.

Cheshire started the round by raising a translucent green shield, then slamming his entire ghostly form into the shield, his tongue still hanging out, as if for added support. Cackling, he twitched his tongue at Stantler, the gesture spelling out the phrase ‘I dare you’.

Stantler glared frostily at Cheshire, feeling as if she was being made fun of somehow. She reached out with her mind, eager to wipe the cheesy grin off of the ghost’s face – and abruptly slammed into the very barrier Cheshire was pressed up against. Desperately she used her psychic powers to tap and prod at the shield, hoping to find a hole somewhere, but her efforts were fruitless. Stantler growled irritably and reluctantly allowed her telepathic fingers to retreat back into her mind. In contrast, Cheshire was giggling madly as if the entire battle was a hilarious sitcom.

He wasn’t sniggering for long, though, as Stantler started to stare at him. Cheshire found himself unable to rip his gaze away as soothing pulses of energy kept his attention and lulled him to sleep at the same time. He fought the heaviness creeping into his eyelids for a few seconds before his drowsiness won, and he fell into an unnatural slumber with a final snort. Stantler sat back on her haunches, pleased with her work – wait, what was that? Cheshire started to mumble in his sleep and the large deer was uncomfortably reminded of Carls, eyes still closed but beating her senseless all the same. Luckily for her, though, Cheshire didn’t seem to be interested in pounding her face in. Instead, the ghost chanted a spiteful arcane curse under his breath, the words seeming to echo through the air. The fact that Cheshire’s eyes were still closed only made the spectacle more sinister. Stantler felt the malicious energy of the words sink into her skull, making it feel compressed somehow. Suddenly she found it harder to remember the last attack she had executed.

Despite being very anxious about what Cheshire did to her brain, Stantler forced the issue out of her head and trotted over to the ghost. He was bobbing about a foot lower than he was when he was awake, with his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth and dribbling with… Was that glowing drool? Stantler shivered inwardly and shaped glowing psychic energy into a rough hand, which reached out and delved into Cheshire’s semi-solid skull. In less than a second the ghost was writhing in pain even as the purplish hand scooped out large portions of his dream, leaving gaping black voids where lush grasslands used to be. Eventually the psychic appendage retreated and presented Stantler with the silvery dreamstuff, who eagerly lapped it up before the precious energy was lost. Just then, Cheshire started mumbling again, and the aforementioned glowing drool that had collected in a small pool under the ghost turned a pale green colour. A wall of the same colour abruptly shot up from the puddle, but dissipated again when there was no attack to threaten the Gastly. Alas, the temporary shield offered no protection against the sandstorm which was still raging across the arena, causing discomfort to both battlers.

Since Dream Eater’s target wasn’t specified, I just went with health. Not like Stantler needed much energy, at any rate.

Blinking away a few grains of sand that had gotten into her eyes, Stantler once again reached out with her psychic powers and delved into Cheshire’s slumbering mind. She sniggered when she saw that the landscape already had a good chunk ripped out of it due to the previous Dream Eater, and outright laughed when she noticed Cheshire staring at the quivering void in fear. Her chortles could be heard in the Gastly’s dreamland, echoing creepily, and he twitched in his sleep. Stantler paid no heed and proceeded to rip out yet more of the lush landscape, nearly crushing Cheshire as soil and rocks rained down around him. When Stantler released her psychic hold on the ghost’s mind, she felt invigorated: the dreams she had consumed had vanquished several wounds and bruises she had picked up from the battle. On the other hand, Cheshire was thrashing and moaning unhappily in his sleep.

He didn’t stop crying out there, though. The tortured sounds continued until the ghost made a hacking sound and a thick, heavy mist spewed out of his mouth. It was as if his body was leaking, although the Haze was an opaque whitish colour instead of purple. The chilly tendrils wrapped around the arena and pressed close to the battling Pokemon, and while Cheshire only shivered slightly, Stantler felt a horrible cold that seemed to suck out her strength. Her mental powers suddenly seemed to dull, even as the bruises around her left shoulder were smoothed out and healed.

By now, Stantler could hardly see a few inches in front of her snout. With an annoyed snort she reached out with her mind once more, searching for Cheshire’s signature aura – ah. There. Again the ghost shrieked as psychic energy tore out yet more of his dream, and even though the assault wasn’t as powerful as before, it still left Cheshire panting. Amidst his pained gasps, he started to murmur, then cough. Unbeknownst to Stantler, was glancing in all directions in hopes of locating him, the ghost was collecting some of the toxic fumes that made up his body into his mouth, cooling the gases so they reverted to a liquid form. With a final hack a glob of toxins was hurled towards the large deer. However, the Haze had thrown off Cheshire’s aim, and it only grazed Stantler’s side before plopping down uselessly on the ground. What little poison that seeped into her side was fast approaching her bloodstream, though, and Stantler winced slightly as a prickling sensation filled her body. The howling winds that fueled the sandstorm raging across the arena began to pick apart the heavy mist, although it was far from gone.

As if the nasty taste of the Toxic had shaken him awake, Cheshire blinked his eyes open after the attack was executed. His head was pounding, as if someone was ripping holes in his skull – wait, that was what happened in his dream, right? He tried to peer at his opponent through the mist – when did that get there? – the Gastly was certain that the Stantler had caused his agony, but said deer was lying on the ground, resting. With a shrug, Cheshire amplified his telepathic reach. He locked onto Stantler’s energy signature, hoping to find some juicy strength he could copy, but the white blanket covering the area seemed to have erased the deer’s previous concentration like chalk on a slate. He pouted, and as if to match his mood, clouds gathered in the sky above for the umpteenth time and poured their contents on the battlers.

A thick Haze covers the arena, and it’s slightly shredded due to the sandstorm. However, Pokemon will still have trouble aiming moves.

Final notes
Scyther attacks first next round.
Cheshire’s first Sleep Talk became Haze, while the 2nd became Toxic.
Because of the Haze, all attacks’ accuracy has been reduced. The reduction fluctuates depending on how far away the Pokemon are from each other when they attack.
Toxic only just hit, and so it’ll take longer for it to progress.
Psych Up did nothing because Stantler’s stat changes were nullified due to Haze. Bad luck there.
Once again, Dream Eater’s target wasn’t specified, so I went with health.

I had to go to Niagra, so I'm a bit late for this, but...

Scyther has been DQ'd. He is barred from making any challenges for a period of two months. RandomTyphoon receives $8, and I receive $5 for reffing. Both Carls and Cheshire receive 1 EXP, while Stantler receives 2 EXP.
