• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Sojaveña Wilds Silver Ravine Mystery Dungeon

Ah, so you didn't know she was a child, he nearly said. But he bit his tongue. Normally he would speak freely, but perhaps it would be best not to offend the little legendary. She might take offense and end this fascinating conversation. And then he would be bored.

He nodded sagely. "I see. There must be precious few humans who can be said to have truly aided the legends. She must be a remarkable youth indeed to have proven herself in this way."

Malachai was fairly certain no hint of sarcasm had made it into his tone. Still, privately he found the strange way Virga described the choice to be worthy of a little teasing. So defensive, for a mighty god of storms! He smiled thinly to himself.

"How has she performed since founding your alliance?"

Virga had the distinct feeling she was being condescended to. But she wasn't in any position to blame the decision on Mew's insistence. The only recourse was to stand by it.

The Corvisquire clacked her beak. "My human has been. Adequate. She has demonstrated unexpected creativity in times of great peril with an... affinity for throwing caution to the wind. One which appears to have carried over to this place, as she recently decided that the most effective means of striking the enemy required her to hurl herself from a cliff." Virga was unable to keep a laugh from creeping into her words. "A habit developed from carrying so many flighted partners, no doubt."

She glanced up at the Noivern. "And your human? You mentioned cultivating her conviction, but to what end?"

Malachai laughed along with his flying companion. He liked this girl. How bold! How absurd! While he couldn't wisely counsel reckless action as a general principle, he imagined he'd prefer it to anxious agonising. Laura was doing less of that of late, at least.

"To whatever ends drive her," he replied. "At first I expected those ends would be the typical League competition, the drive to excel in combat sports. I do enjoy participation in those, with certain givens... But as it turns out, she has a more unusual goal, one which interests me. Should it escalate, she could find herself the enemy of a powerful corporation, and the powers that control it. That would be most exciting, indeed."

With a glance, he could see the thoughts turning in Virga's mind. He purred amusedly.

"I get bored, lady Virga," he confessed. "I must find ways to fill my years, else I should lose the will to live. And I am not yet enthused to die."
