The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

I'd probably be a lot more excited about this if I hadn't sucked at every handheld Zelda game so far. :(

Choo-choo!

My friend Jake will probably buy it. Zelda's fun, trains rock my socks, so this is good so far.

Just PLEASE no cheap touch-screen gimmicks. I mean, using the touch screen is fine, just not 'tap the sword to pick it up!' stuff.

I know!! I've been so excited about this since when it was first announced at GDC 2009! I can't wait for it. I'm not the strongest fan of a steampunk Zelda, but as long as it has a good storyline and character development, I'll buy it in a flash!

Old news? Honestly, even though I wish there were more Steampunk themed games, this... I dunno, actually x.x Now, if Nintendo went and gave us a Weird West theme, or Cyberpunk, then you'll have me looking.

As soon as Developers stop shoe-horning gimmicks into every game they make, I'll be happy.

They're not shoe-horning anything. Nintendo's just turning Epona into a train now, that's all. And Navi's some little dude that helps you fight now.

[22:39] Spaekle: this is phantom hourglass without water
[22:39] Spaekle: how innovative
[22:40] Spaekle: linebeck needs to come back and be an engineer
[22:40] Spaekle: or at least a hobo
[22:40] Friend: Fucking train! Since when does Hyrule have trains?!
[22:40] Spaekle: zelda goes steampunk
[22:41] Friend: that was not steampunk. that was fucking thomas the tank engine.
[22:41] Spaekle: touché
[22:42] Friend: steampunk zelda would be amazing, but not with windwaker graphics.
[22:42] Spaekle: yeeeeeah

I mean, I guess I shouldn't be making any real decisions about it until more information is known. I'm really not liking this whole thing with them recycling the boat concept with a different vehicle, but Nintendo has managed to make most Zelda games with weird concepts pretty damn awesome. I'll probably end up buying it no matter what.

This is because Nintendo is the epitome of the phrase, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

And if a series is practically dead? Do what they did with Metroid; give it to an American 2nd party developer based in Texas. They'll give some pretty amazing games.

MEH, BLAH BLAH BLAH. Tis another Zelda game, who gives. Kinda looks like crap, but that's just me, I'm not a real fan of hand-held Zelda games. Only the Seasons/Years. Hope this series doesn't turn into another Sonic.

Shit, when are they gonna start calling this "Link"? Screw Zelda. D=

Oh, do you mean Seasons/Ages? Those were amazing games; they stick out as being some of my very favorites in the entire series. It's too bad they're not very well-known - apparently they weren't even released in a lot of places?

I actually seem to like the handheld games the best, although that may just be because I prefer handheld games in general. I'm so glad I finally found the Minish Cap. :V

Maybe because the handhelds have all been made by 3rd party? (Capcom)

Eh. I dunno if I'll get it. I liked Phantom Hourglass but I don't think I could get through something so similar again. XD By similar I mean similar mechanics, similar system etc. Maybe if it gets good reviews, I dunno.

I love the Zelda series, but sometimes I just want to sream, "FORGET THE HANDHELD SYSTEMS FOR A WHILE. WE NEED ANOTHER CONSOL ZELDA GAME!"
Twilight Princess was amazing, I want to see what they come up with next... Except for now. Trains are not the best of gimmicks I must say. I'm probley not going to get it even though I love most top-down veiw Zelda games.

I'll only want a Zelda on the Wii if Link is left handed. I refuse to play the Wii version of Twilight Princess exactly for that reason. Plus, the 'Cube version IS the original version of the game =P
