Why does Ash look younger in Best Wishes?

I didn't really notice Ash's appearance changing at all in Best Wishes, other than the hair and clothing style? Then again, maybe the lack of change is the issue being noted. The big change I noticed was in the Ultra Adventures episodes that take place in Alola. The new art style did make him seem a lot younger, and it just looks off compared with what I'm used to.
At first, I thought that was what the thread was talking about, but apparently it was the series of episodes before Ultra Adventures where people started noticing something off. Interesting to note that people started noticing something strange with the art that far back.
