Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

One-Shot Word of the Wise

I heard a voice from behind me. I turned on my swivel chair, taking my gaze off of the computer screen.

"You should go read a book! Stay on the internet too long and you'll be in danger!" a girl snapped. It was my friend, Nalani, who visited me at home. She had dark black hair that swung down on her back. Her emerald green eyes showed a fierce spirit, and Nalani was fierce.

She turned around, heading for the door. When she got to the door, she turned back around, her face having a bit of sorrow and compassion. "The computer's dangerous...." She tured back around and left.

Poor Nalani. Evn though I didn't know what happened to make her like this, it pains my heart to see her blaming stuff for it.

I was still thinking about whether to read a book or stay on the internet. I was having so much fun on the internet, and I didn't have any good books to read! Turning back to my computer, I kept on playing on it for about five more hours. Oh, how I wished I listened to her!

I started to grow weary. Odd, considering it was only 5:00 PM, and I only feel tired at about 11:00 PM. Ignoring the feeling, I returned to the computer. After an hour, I felt like laying my head right on the keyboard and falling asleep. A loud beep jolted me up.

The computer was the cause of the beeping. Suddenly, the computer screen started turning blue. As everything was wiped off in a blue color, some red began to form on the screen. It looked like I was typing something on there.

But I wasn't.

The computer did it all on it's own. After it finished, I carefully read through it and gasped.

"Your friend was wise to warn you. Now it is too late," Is what it said.

In the middle of the screen, a distortion appeared. A hand came out and grabbed my shirtcollar. It pulled me inside of the computer.

Everything looked like pixels multiplied by a million. Then, as quickly as it appeared, it faded away into a black void.

I should have listened to Nalani. She was right. I am currently typing this from the computer mainframe I fortunatly found. If anyone reads this, I am stuck inside a never ending void, all because of my carelessness.....
