That's the most common response to him, actually. That, or "omg he is cute." As if they expected him to be some hideous monster or something. :P He's adorkable is what he is.

Yeah, asking out of the blue would be odd, especially as it's been a while since that day happened. In any case, you should ask him after break! Or perhaps during the break? Maybe he'll have less work then and his schedule will clear up.

Well, you shouldn't say something along the lines of "if you just didn't want to go, you should have told me" but perhaps you could ask what he was busy with? And I think winter break is coming so maybe you'll have another opportunity then? Or are you going to try until after winter break?

Yay, that's great! Glad to know that the full glory of his hair is shown in these photos. I hope I don't sound too stalker-like (and if you don't want to answer that's fine), but how is his hair? I'm imagining curly, shoulder length hair or Oscar Wilde-type hair (and omg I love Oscar's hair <3).

Facebook is actually my saving grace too: although he never uploads pictures of himself, there's a whole album of the party where I met him and he shows up. In formal wear. Looking way too sexy and adult in this one pic (being that he's adorkable and not even posing in that photo, it's unexpected :3).
