Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.
Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Look, I make styles on a color scheme basis, not a Pokémon basis. I'll make a Raichu style if I want to make something orange, yellow and brown (which is unlikely). A person's first concern when it comes to website layouts should be that it looks decent, not how much they like the Pokémon that happens to be on the banner. My favorite Pokémon is Charizard, but as it happens a Charizard style would just look ugly, and thus I have no intention of creating one; liking Charizard does not make me more inclined to want to have a bright orange, yellow and blue style.
It kind of irritates me when people tell me they want styles for their favorite Pokémon because of this. :/ I'd be sympathetic if you just thought orange, yellow and brown looked really good together in a layout, but odds are you just want to look at your favorite Pokémon on the banner. I have better things to do than to make hopelessly ugly styles just so that somebody can look at their favorite Pokémon on the banner. I'd end up having to make all 493 into styles and half of them would be completely eye-hurting.
I'd rather not. Orange and brown aren't the best colors for a decent-looking style. :/ -
