• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

  • Aaaah, I see. At home, when I'm home, we've got two PS2s, but we use mine to play games on (well, I use mine to play games on; nobody else in my house really games), and my sisters' is used as a DVD player because my dad lives in the 70's and hasn't quite adjusted to the idea of CDs yet, let alone DVDs, and my PS2 plays everything in luminous green. I wish I had a bigger screen, though ):

Haha, "I still enjoy the tactical element of it". That's what people say about Pokemon, but really they just think Minun's the cutest thing ever. You know it's true.

Well here in Canterbury, because of all the tourists (we have a lot of people coming over from France and Germany, and even places like Japan), there's a lot of independently-owned restaraunts and things that are really quite pricey. The other night I went out to a local pub with my Amnesty group and some people ordered sandwiches that came to nearly £8. Crazy stuff.
Also, how can you not like tomatoes? Do you not eat them in anything? Do you not eat lasgane or anything? Sorry; tomatoes are in pretty much every meal I can make, so the idea of someone not eating them is unfathomable.

Yeah, I did really well at GCSE for reasons unknown to everyone (especially me); 3A*s, 4As a B and 2Cs, but then I went and messed up at A-level and came out with 3Cs. But I've done pretty well at uni so far, so it's all good. How're all your GCSEs looking?

I went to my sixth form too, and it was quite good. Not having to make new friends was a plus, and I liked nearly all of my teachers (except Mrs. Fuller grrr), and I think sixth form was better for me than college because if you don't do your work, the teachers come and kill you, while in college, you'll just fail.
My sixth form was joint Catholic/CofE and there weren't more attractive people there than usual, I think. Maybe you're (or, well, your friend's) just lucky X3

Oh, I don't wear *smart* things. I have about one or two things I can wear if it's a formal occasion, otherwise it's brightly coloured t-shirts with stupid things written on them, oversized hoodies, well-worn trousers and yellow trainers. I'm not a formal person XD
Is that because you have a PS3 or because you never play your PS2? I use my PS2 all the time; I love Disgaea, FFX and Singstar to bits <3
I tend to play Pokemon on my own rather than with others; I get most of my Pokemon playing done on coaches and trains to and from Kent, London and Devon; near enough five hours between London and Exeter, and I need something to keep me amused :3

Wagamama's is fairly good because it's cheap, though; my friends and I don't eat out much, but if we do, it's almost always Pizza Hut, and we could really use a change. The only other cheap-ish places nearby are some kebab places that just look gross, and a Nando's that has about two vegetarian options.

We had hardly any linguists at my school; only one class of about 25 took French for GCSE and a whole bunch of us failed (not me, I got an A - which to this day is an absolute mystery because I, no false modesty, suck at French), and only a handful took German.

I don't actually know anything about any of those unis (I could maybe pinpoint a couple on a map...?) except Kent. Which you should go to :D But that's getting a little far ahead; do you know which sixth form/college you'll be going to yet?

I have a big collection of stupid shirts :D
(the sombrero, sadly, is not mine)
Well, I've never seen Kai, but I've seen the anime for the first and read the manga.
As far as I can tell, the manga is slightly scarer in ways. |D
I still have a few of my backdated consoles, but I mostly give them to my friends who don't have them; I gave one friend my old DS so I'd have another person to play Pokemon with, and I gave my GC to another so she'd be able to play SSMB more and hopefully improve. Selfishly motivated generosity ftw :D

I've been to Wagamama's once, I think, in Canterbury. It was quite nice, but I'm not a very noodle-y person. I don't think I got a chance to try the desserts, though, and white chocolate and ginger cheesecake sounds utterly gorgeous <3 I'll have to give that a go if we ever go there again :3

Five years younger? Holy god, that's weird o.O
My school had its own sixth form centre attached to the school but we only had a handful of subjects we could study there. Though, in fairness, we only had about 60 students per year, so we didn't need that many (there were four people including myself in my AS chemistry group, and my friend Hannah was the only person who studied French, so she basically got one-to-one tutoring). Your subjects sound really hard (I know from experience that chem and bio are), so good luck with them!

Well, when the time comes, have a look around the uni's you'd like to go to to see if they're any good; going to a uni with a good reputation isn't worth it if you won't like it there. But Banksy is a firm tick in the "Merits of Bristol" box. Hehe X3
Haha, sorry ^^ It won't happen again.

Nope, I don't have a DSi; I'd still be using my chunky DS brick if my uncle hadn't randomly decided to get me a DS lite for my birthday last year for some reason. I don't update my consoles unless I really have to in order to play the newest Pokemon game. I'm such a fangirl :D
The Flipnote Studio thing sounds really cool, though. I only ever draw on pictochat, and my doodles on there are normally a bit rubbish X3

I normally go on the Saturday because I tend to plan to go for the weekend, but see everything I want to see on Saturday and don't bother paying another £10 to get in on Sunday, too.

Oh god, I totally forgot you were 15 XD I'm jumping the gun a bit here, huh? It's so cool that you know what you want to do already; I'm halfway through university and don't have a bloody clue what I want to do in the long-term. o.O

I don't want to say it, but Bristol's a better university than Kent, so when the time comes, you should apply there, and use Kent as your reserve choice. Bristol's got a really good reputation (although the city's a bit... not-so-nice, or so I hear), but it'd be a long way for you to travel, would it not? Which other unis do forensics? One of the... I can't decide if it's a good or bad thing, actually, about doing sociology is that everywhere does it, so there were absolutely loads of universities to choose from. I ended up picking most fo them at random XD
Oh yeah, I'm sorry; I forgot about the no chatspeak because of my facebook addiction ='(
I'm so sorry! I have a horrible habit of reading them, deciding I'll reply later, and then forgetting and it's terrible and I'm horrile and I'm sorry D:

I absolutely loved the drawings-with-music, they were absolutely awesome XD You're improving so much with your drawings; I haven't drawn anything of substance in ages x.x
I have absolutely no plans for the Expo yet; if I do, it'll be a lot closer to the time because I am absolutely crap about planning stuff in advance, but it will almost certianly be the Saturday. I always get the DLR to the Excel Centre; I'm not sure which side that is, but it's the side near the tube/DLR station, if that helps.

Are you gonna come and see Kent uni for an open day or something? If you are, let me know, and I'll see if I can come and meet you and show you around and stuff or something; that'd be so great! Kent's a really cool university in a really cool city; I don't know if you know Canterbury or not, but it's big enough to be a city and have all the things you need, but small enough to not be overwhelming and too busy. My friend from London thinks it's a bit small, but I'm from a tiny town in Devon and I love it.

Where else are you thinking of going?
    Saw whut the drawing?

    Arright o:

...lucky ol dog xD Did you say yes?

Oh and remeber that friend of mine the little 'band geek?" the male one/

...people ship us what the crap D:
Actually now that I think about it, how would we enforce that rule?
You don't know who makes it to the finals or not until halfway through the week, so what do you do, just not include those in the poll?
