As the audience looks on, holding their breath, Luke Skywalker waits for Addlemunch to make the first move. Addlemunch, poking his foreleg gingerly, has an idea. Knowing that Luke will be reactive in this critical final round, he floats over, drawing grassy energy into his mouth from his body. The energy coalesces into a seed, which Addlemunch casually spits in Luke’s direction … and just when the seed makes contact with Luke’s body, his entire body gleams brightly in a reflective coating, sending the seed ricocheting back to plant itself in Addlemunch’s shoulder. Little tendrils of roots quickly work their way into his system, and Addlemunch’s beady eyes widen as a feeling of horrible distress overcomes him. His special prophetic power finds itself the fuel for the seed’s growth, and without it, he feels rather blind. Nevertheless, putting his trust in his trainer, he repeats the process, and soon the seed’s twin is embedded in his other shoulder. He’s positively jittery at this point, looking around as if everything is out to get him. Even those audience members seem suspicious …

But he has to do this, one way or the other. Determined to get the upper hand decisively, he sticks his snout into the air, remarking that there’s absolutely no way a weakling like his opponent could walk away from this victorious. So caught up is he in his insults that he hardly notices Luke flash for a third time, but his attention is definitely captured when he catches wind of his own badmouthing getting reflected back at him. Furious, Addlemunch bristles, and his limbs start shaking. How dare that hack use his own insults against him! For his part, Luke just cracks a little smile at Addlemunch’s impotent rage. It’s not like he can channel that into something useful at this point, after all.

The ref signals with an eager flag, and the two combatants regard her anxiously, awaiting the verdict ...

Thanks for the nerve-wracking, nail-biting, insomnia-inducing battle, ILS. I never had any idea until I saw that final score who would walk away with this one, it was just that close. We match up well, we'll have to do it again sometime, and when that happens we'll make sure we don't have a tricky round limit to work around :P

Interestingly, I thought all along you were gonna win. :P The second round came as a total surprise. It was a great match, regardless, and we have to absolutely fight some other time because this was amazing. Even though I lost, it was worth it.
