Try to stop. First, the hydro pump shouldn't be too bad for you what with the resistance, so dragon dance to prepare for the next double team. The ice beam and toxic will be annoying, though, so double team. If the ice beam hasn't identified you, have a well-deserved break; otherwise, double team.

Nenya might as well not have heard her trainer's commands at all; the enraged dratini pays them no heed and continues to vent her spleen on Dominic. The mudkip, resigned to the fact that he can't hope to outrun the raging dratini, instead tries to repulse her with one of his strongest attack. A vicious streamer of water blasts from the mudkip's mouth, but unfortunately Nenya's wild, energetic thrashing throws off Dominic's aim and the attack misses entirely. The mudkip is left to suffer the dratini's ire until her insane power rush finally subsides... which, finally, it does.

Nenya backs away from Dominic, the flames wreathing her body sputtering down to nothing and the light fading from her eyes. She still looks muddled and uncertain even after the last remnant of the outrage drops away, though, staring at Dominic as though she's never seen a mudkip before. Dominic himself isn't in the shape to do much of anything save stare back, slowly working towards getting up again. While still in overall good health, the mudkip is feeling the outrage attack acutely. As he pushes himself up, Nenya startles and lets out a snort, backing away from the mudkip and watching his progress with wild eyes. Before Dominic gets a chance to fire his ice beam after the dratini, Neny is off, slithering as quickly as she can away from him. Dominic waits for her to slow so that he can take aim, but she only speeds up, curving around until she is tracing a wide circle around her opponent. With the speed boosts afforded by her dragon dances, the dratini fairly flies around the arena, no more than an indistinct blue streak in the air. When at last she does stop, Dominic finds himself, to his dismay, completely surrounded by dratini clones. A full nine dragons stare in at him from all sides, head bobbing from side to side as though they're just waiting to duck out of the way of an attack.

Dominic decides to strike the dratini directly in front of him, drawing a geyser of freezing-cold water up from the depths of his reserves and spewing it straight at what he hopes is Nenya. It's not, though, and the ice beam does no more than leave a small slick of ice on the ground. All the rest of the dratini collapse, staring blankly up at the sky as they lie low as the real one among them does the best to still the unnatural panic that lingers after her outrage attack. As dissociated as Nenya is from reality at the moment, she hardly notices when Dominic gives a bubbling cough, then spews a gout of hissing sludge over another of her clones. Staring dazedly up at the sky, the dratini rests, trying to put her thoughts in order and her mind at ease. Dominic, meanwhile, only wishes he could have the opportunity to do the same.

And, as luck would have it, Dominic gets his break somewhat earlier than anticipated. Settling down across from Nenya, Dominic rests his weary head on the dirt and relaxes, secure in the knowledge that he's not going to have to fend off any attacks this round. Nenya, still caught in a trance of confusion, is not similarly reassured, but she is content enough to lie around and concentrate on putting her thoughts back in order.

Time passes and the two pokémon show no sign of stirring. Nenya's confusion seeps away with the help of the long period of rest, while Dominic's desperate fatigue recedes at an equal pace. A hush falls over the battlefield as, for the moment at least, all is at peace.

Nenya is the first to rise out of her resting trance, stretching upwards and flexing her tail as she returns to full alertness. Her clones do the same all around her and then, as Nenya prepares her next attack, they slither forward in a huddle, so that Dominic, who is blearily getting back to his feet, can't see what's going on in its center.

In fact, Nenya is projecting her life energy outward, breathing a steady stream of dragonflame at the ground in front of her, where it twists and reshapes itself into the shape of a dratini with cold silver lights for eyes. The group of dratini draws back again until the substitute is more or less equidistant from them all, prepared to protect the real Nenya if she is threatened.

Somewhat grumpily, Dominic surveys his possible targets. Any one is good as another so far as he's concerned, so he picks one near the middle and starts to concoct another vicious toxic attack in the hopes of hitting the real dratini with it this time. And, when he spews a fountain of gooey slime at the dratini's mouth, as per his command, the substitute darts over to block the toxic's path--his choice might have been the right one. Dominic smirks, and the clones fade out of his vision; now that he knows where the real dragon lies, the illusion holds no more power over him.

Nenya thumps her tail against the ground in annoyance, but at least she'll have the opportunity to get revenge; sparks ripple up and down her body, gathering in number and strength until she flicks her tail in the direction of Dominic and casts a thin tendril of electrical power at the mudkip. Dominic tries to dart away but isn't fast enough; the thunder wave hits home and causes him to sink into a brief fit of seizing. Even as the initial shock fades, the damage is done; Dominic's muscles are tense and stubborn, now and then spasming without warning and causing the mudkip to stumble.

Dominic is still able to complete his mud-slap, though. Spitting water to the ground in front of him, Dominic mixes the dirt up into mud before swatting a big dollop of it at Nenya. Her blazing substitute intercepts the attack, of course, and the mud-slap strikes with a loud hissing as some of the substitute's flames are extinguished. Overall, though, the fake dratini looks little diminished by the attack, and the substitute's intercession means that Nenya can start her own attack unmolested.

The dratini stretches up towards the sky, letting out a low, steady humming sound as she calls to far-distant powers. Dominic follows Nenya's eyes, apprehensive, and sure enough, a cluster of dots appears high above in the area the dratini is watching. Dominic cowers, trembling from more than paralysis, but this time there is nothing to protect him from the fury of the draco meteor. Howling green meteorites slam into the ground all around Dominic, obscuring him behind fountains of dirt and sheets of unnatural fire. The trees around the perimeter sway and smoke as small meteorites howl through their upper boughs, and the ground shakes beneath the bombadment.

The last of the rocks smash to earth, and for a couple of moments the arena is quiet, save for the crackling of the flames. Then Dominic, covered in burns and dirt, hurls himself over the lip of a crater and tumbles down its sloped side to the outer arena. Twitching worse than ever, he lies where he has fallen, overwhelmed by the sheer power of the attack. He tries to relax, and gradually his tremors die away as he dissociates himself from the battle and his injuries.

Nenya watches with interest as Dominic starts trying to rise, his treacherous muscles conspiring to keep him on the ground. The mudkip growls with irritation, dragging himself towards the dratini, the sheer force of his frustration giving him the determination to keep trying despite his paralyzed state. As the mudkip finally collapses in a twitching heap, ultimately unable to overcome the paralysis, Nenya smirks. No refresh there.

The dragon blows out a dense, grayish mist that rolls sluggishly out around the arena, shrouding craters and pokémon alike beneath a blanket of clammy dark haze. Dominic stares into the gathering fog, trying to remember where Nenya is before it becomes totally impossible to see her. Soon enough, even the light of her substitute's fire is masked by the deep haze, and Dominic gives up, closing his eyes and trying to settle down a bit. The acute fit of paralysis has faded for the moment, and Dominic is able to rest with minimal distraction.

Nenya also settles down to chilling again, but not without a shiver. The cold of her own haze seems to sap the strength right out of her body, leaving her feeling sluggish and weak. Curling into a tight coil, the dratini tries to ignore the cold and relax, but she must reluctantly admit that the atmosphere she's created isn't the most comfortable to her.

A few feet away, Dominic is concentrating on ridding himself of the paralysis that's taken hold of his body yet again. A tingling sensation sweeps through the mudkip's body as energy rushes into his muscles, loosening cramps and restoring control. Dominic smiles and stands up, stretching and flexing to work the last of the discomfort out of his limbs.

Nenya has no idea what Dominic's up to, unable as she is to see the mudkip through the haze, but it doesn't really matter; one way or another, she's going to keep chilling for a while. The dratini remains quiet and still, eyes half-shut and glazed as she retreats into her own thoughts, leaving the battlefield behind in all but body. Meanwhile, as Dominic scans the featureless haze, he finds a faint glow coming from not too far away, most likely cast by Nenya's substitute.

Nenya continues to chill, lying motionless behind her substitute. Dominic, who is counting on her to do something, waits patiently, eyes roaming the mist. As time goes on, though, the mudkip starts to grow restless. No attack seems forthcoming, and in its absence, he doesn't really have anything to do.

Dominic sits back on his haunches and sighs, waiting for the haze to dissipate so that he can at least see well enough to determine what's going on. As time passes, the fog thins a bit, until Dominic can clearly make out Nenya's substitute and an indistinct lump behind it that is, presumably, Nenya.

A bit apprehensive but without anything better to do, Dominic creeps a little closer to the pair, trying to figure out what they're up to. The substitute swivels so that its glowing eyes can stay trained on the mudkip even as he tries to circle around it to get a good look at Nenya herself. With the haze continuing to dissipate, it's easy enough for him to see what Nenya's doing--nothing, in fact. The dratini's breathing is sluggish and deep as she lies in a limp coil, and she appears completely unaware of her opponent's proximity.

Dominic snorts and stomps a paw in annoyance. So what's he supposed to do--just stand around and wait until Nenya decides she's rested enough to try chucking more space rocks at him?

Dominic jumps back a pace as Nenya's eyelids flutter. The dratini gives a cavernous yawn before stretching, then raising her head off the ground. After a nice long rest, the dragon type is raring to go on the offense again--and with an incredible bang. Dominic cringes as Nenya throws back her head and lets out a by-now familiar rattling howl; this time, though, he can do a little more than just brace for impact. Planting his feet firmly, the mudkip projects a web of energy out across his skin, where it forms an irridescent film. As draco meteors start to slam into the arena all around him, the mudkip stands strong; when one finally strikes him dead-on in a burst of raging fire, the mirror coat draws strength from the attack, supplementing it with Dominic's own until it simply cannot be contained any longer. Dominic releases the enhanced attack as a jet of pure energy, which rages straight towards Nenya--until her substitute pushes her out of the way. The searing beam cuts right through the avatar, scattering it into a hundred little wisps of flame that flicker for a couple momemnts more before dying away entirely. Dominic is left outlined in a faint blue aura; despite his injuries as a result of the draco meteor, he's feeling energized as his emergency reserves of water energy well to aid him in his weakened state.

Nenya snorts as she looks at the ruin of her substitute; well, so much for that. She's feeling a bit drained after calling up another draco meteor, but renewing the haze that had been hanging over the arena ought to put that to rights. Letting out a long exhalation, the dratini blows a dense cloud of gray fog into the air around her, where it twines around Dominic and obscures the devastated terrain.

Fortunately, Dominic has no need to see in order to use his next attack; gathering icy energy at the back of his throat, he spits a glowing blue ball of it up into the sky. It shoots up and is lost to sight in the midst of the haze, but Dominic knows that, once it hits the upper atmosphere, it will blossom into a bank of dense clouds ready to pelt the area with hail.

Nenya, on the other hand, is preoccupied with matters closer to home. She needs a replacement for her old substitute and, though puzzled when a hailstone plummets through the haze and bounces off her forehead, isn't concerned with much else at the moment. Breathing out another steady stream of dragonfire, Nenya imbues it with her own life energy and shapes it into a likeness of herself. The fiery dratini that results is just bright enough for Dominic to make out through the haze; little does Nenya know that she won't have much time to admire it.

The mudkip draws in a tremenous breath, condensation slicking his skin as his body temperature drops and he prepares a vicious, icy attack. When he exhales, it is to blow an incredible blast of ice-laden wind at Nenya and her substitute, which promptly throws itself atop its creator, pinning her to the ground. The blizzard attack shreds through the haze, gathering hailstones as it goes and only increasing in fury. Frost snakes over the ground and snowflakes eddy through the air; only the warmth of the substitute's body, and her sudden proximity to the ground, prevents Nenya from being encrusted in ice and lashed by the furious winds.

As it is, it's the substitute that takes the beating; by the time the blizzard abates, it's been ripped to fiery shreds, and what remains falls to pieces as Nenya cautiously raises her head again, shivering in the suddenly-cold air.
