Animorph vs Involuntary Twitch

Gah, sorry about that. I normally double check the attack guide anyway and put in what moves missed, but i was sorta tired when i wrote this. Just thought "Grrr growl!", so yeah. (swagger failed btw)

Round five

While Jim continues rolling about, Ganteiana tries to keep track of his dizzying movements as she takes a few cautious steps forward. She still feels a bit reluctant about boasting, but she doesn’t want to mess up a second time. Clearing her throat, the Torchic puffs up her feathers and begins to brag about how beautiful and wonderful she is, sounding a bit meek at first, before starting to gain a little confidence. Cheerfully strutting forward, she preens her fluffy feathers, looking expectantly at Jim, hoping he might show his face again.
However, instead of being angry, Jim utters a delighted squeak of agreement when he hears her. She couldn’t be more right! Hearing his trainer’s orders, the Sandshrew realises he’s going to have to work harder to impress such a beautiful creature as Ganteiana – this feeble rollout isn’t going to work. Struggling to gain some speed, he presses forward, much to Ganteiana’s disdain, the pain from his burn apparently forgotten for the moment.
Trying to maintain a smile, the fire pokémon takes a few steps backward as Jim’s movements become even more reckless, barrelling past her and missing by only a hair’s breadth.

While Jim rolls around the room with a bit too much vigour for Ganteiana’s taste, the Torchic begins to feel a bit sick from all the zig-zigging about. With a sigh, she decides it's time to knock some sense into this demented Sandshrew, charging about with reckless abandon doesn’t make for a good relationship. On the other hand, she can’t help but feel that setting fire to the poor little guy is at bit harsh. However, as Jim rockets past her head with a silly giggle, Ganteiana comes to the conclusion that this is no doubt a necessary evil.
Looking at Jim apologetically, she takes a deep breath, before spitting out a dazzling torrent of fire at the oblivious Sandshrew. Jim’s laughter immediately turns into startled squeaks of pain and surprise as the fire engulfs him.
Ganteiana winces as she watches the living fireball roll wildly about in an attempt to put out the fire, bashing into plant pots, cubicles and windows as he winds about in an erratic trail. Maybe she was a bit too harsh there. However, as Jim races about, he unknowingly crashes right into Ganteiana, knocking her back and onto her rump. With an indignant chirp, Ganteiana springs back to her feet, starting to become irritated. Obviously Jim took her flamethrower completely the wrong way, and decided to knock her around in retaliation! Not to mention it hurt like hell.
With the fire finally put out, Jim slows to a less than graceful stop, sprawled out on the floor and in obvious pain. The Sandshrew looks at the Torchic with hurt eyes, wondering why on earth she did something so nasty.

Frowning over at Jim, Ganteiana’s heart is softened a little by his beady eyed gaze, but if he starts with that rollout crap again, she’s going to have to take more serious measures. As Jim slowly gets to his feet, he looks more puzzled than anything else, completely at a loss as to why Ganteiana didn’t like his moves.
Ganteiana isn’t providing any answers however, and is instead keen to show off to Jim the real way to impress someone. With a cheerful smile at the downcast Sandshrew, she begins to whirl around to an erratic beat, blurring into a fiery mass of orange and red as she eagerly dances, occasionally slashing out viciously at thin air and jabbing her head to the rhythm.
When she finally slows to a stop, she feels more pumped than ever, and looks expectantly at Jim, who slowly begins to clap, a forced smile on his face. The burns and scratches over his body are starting to get his attention more now however.

Ana, keep on your toes. We don't know what tricks he's going to pull here... he may try to play with your heart again, so we're going to have to be defensive. Start off with a Double Team (2 clones). Then chill, but retaliate with slash if he tries to hurt you. Do that twice.

Okay, Jim you're not looking so hot right now...so I want you to Rest. After that, feel free to use sleep talkx2, because you sound so gosh darn adorable when you mumble in your sleep.

round six

Ganteiana wastes no time putting her new found vigour to good use, as she takes off at a sprint, winding around in a wide circle. Her talons click loudly against the tiled floor as she runs, her head bobbing up and down in time to her movement. Since the rest of her commands are dull, the Torchic makes the most of this fun one that involves a bit of effort.
Jim looks up as Ganteiana dissolves into a fiery blur, and blinks rapidly in surprise as two more fiery blurs abruptly split off from the leader. When the clones appear, the three Torchics begins to slow down, before gradually stopping altogether and standing in a row, looking at Jim expectantly.

Despite his hurt feelings, Jim gives a small smile; two more to admire is great. On the other hand, he’s still really smarting from his previous scorching and he’s having trouble doing any admiring. Ganteiana probably wouldn’t mind if he took a quick rest, any person in a good relationship would agree…
His mind still whirring with half-hearted excuses, Jim slowly slides down onto the floor in a limp heap, his scaly tail curled around him. As he slips into the healing trance, his troubled thoughts fade, and his body begins to glow with a light blue ethereal aura. The angry red burn on his chest is quickly cooled and soothed by the gentle blue glow, gradually fading away and leaving the white skin unmarked.

Ganteiana is frozen for a moment in complete surprise as she stares at the sleeping Jim. Annoyance quickly begins to set in however; as she wonders if he got so bored with her that he dozed off.
Fluffing up her feathers and chirping indignantly, the three Ganteianas stomp over to the peaceful Sandshrew and look down on him sternly. Ganteiana’s temper rises further as Jim utters an unusually loud snore before muttering something incomprehensible. She responds by giving him a sharp poke with her talons, hoping to get his attention. Her clones mimic her frustration, though their poking is insubstantial.
When Jim continues to stir, Ganteiana thinks she might be getting through, but when the Sandshrew abruptly leaps to his feet, she is sent reeling back from the sudden move.
A little embarrassed, Ganteiana tries to play it cool; quickly righting herself as she turns towards him. But apparently Jim wouldn’t have seen anything anyway; his eyes are still closed, like he’s sleep-walking. Ganteiana looks at him, now a little puzzled and uneasy. Jim’s movements are jerky and erratic as he continues mumbling garbled strings of words, all while waving his arms about. A fine, almost transparent, mint green mist slowly materializes as he gestures, cloaking his body in a ghostly film. The effect is vaguely hypnotic, along with the blue aura, Jim is starting to resemble some sort of bizarre Christmas decoration. His weird job done, Jim slowly sinks down again, curling up on the floor and looking generally peaceful. All the while, the trance does its work, as the blue aura seeps into his skin, washing away the painful burns and scratches on his battle-worn armour.

Ganteiana doesn’t feel any less confused upon seeing this, and her feeling of unease remains. She’s about to give Jim another poke when she remembers she’s got some commands to follow; she was a bit distracted for a moment there, time for a breather.
Still eyeing Jim questionably, Ganteiana sets herself down on the floor, relaxing her muscles and stretching out her legs.
She isn’t left to her own devices for long though, as Jim begins to mutter in his sleep again; staggering upright as he is apparently urged on by his subconsciousness. The Sandshrew takes a few uncertain and shaky steps forward before raising his fist and pulling it back.
Ganteiana is understandably alarmed when the sleepwalker trudges over to her like a zombie, looking ready to punch. Nevertheless, she remains where she is, hoping he’s not really going to do anything he might regret…
Not so. Jim abruptly lashes out with his fist, delivering a swift punch that rips through the clone he targeted. Even as he punches out a second and third time, the clone is already ripped out of existence.
Needless to say, Ganteiana isn’t sure what to make of this. Although she is a bit relieved that he didn’t strike her, maybe he knew which was just a clone? Still, he was putting his own health before hers, that’s just rude.

Even as Jim flops down again, he begins to stir almost immediately. Muttering sleepily, Jim sluggishly stands upright, stretching out his limbs. While the healing trance has left him physically healthier, he is ironically left a lot more drained from the effort of the trance and the subconscious attacking. In fact, just standing is making him feel light-headed, and his gaze is unfocused and bleary.

Uh, Ana. Shake it off. He's... he's really not all that into you. I'm sorry-- it's hard to bear, but the fact remains that you're in a battle against him, and the priority is winning, not getting lost on little details.

So make sure he doesn't get to chill. He's about to collapse from exhaustion anyhow. And, though these orders may seem a little vague, do your best to follow them: I want you to do everything you possibly can to wake him up, stop him from getting a restful sleep, so those chills won't come into effect. If he wakes up at any point, chill.

round seven

Jim flops down onto the floor, more than glad to take the weight of his shaky legs. He lies sprawled out, not feeling particularly comfortable, but too drained to even shift position. He gives the two Torchics a slightly uneasy smile before closing his eyes, although her disgruntled look doesn’t improve the atmosphere.
Ganteiana marches over to him, her copy tagging behind her, more than a little unsure about her orders. She really doesn’t want him to do that creepy sleep-attacking thing again though, so she does what she can. As Jim lies weary and defenceless on the floor, Ganteiana tries to balance on one leg while she awkwardly tries to partially cover his mouth with her clawed foot.
Jim’s squeak of surprise is muffled, and he blindly punches out before trying to push Ganteiana’s foot away. Ganteiana quickly tries to press back, but with only one leg to balance on she ends up falling on her rump instead, squawking comically.
Despite his exhaustion, Jim’s automatic reaction is a stuttering apology, and he lurches clumsily to her side to help her up, all dejection from her past actions forgotten.
However, Ganteiana is so irritated and embarrassed from the fall that she completely dismisses Jim’s affection, instead jumping back to her feet and scowling. Jim doesn’t get a chance to press the matter further, before he’s distracted by the fact that he has a safeguard up that he doesn’t remember conjuring.

Puzzled, Jim automatically puts forth some effort to keep the green glow strong. Unfortunately, even spending such little effort is too much for him, and he falls to the ground as his legs buckle beneath him in exhaustion. Gritting his teeth, Jim sprawls out on the ground, trying not to get distracted by Ganteiana, who is behaving weird again.
Before he can even manage a smile, Ganteiana lashes out with her foot, and delivers a very awkward slap. Jim recoils, more in surprise than pain, then slowly turns back to face her, blinking rapidly. Ganteiana simply glares at him sternly, her clone by her side and sharing the same expression. The overall effect is more than a little intimidating, and Jim begins to feel his affection for the foul-tempered Torchic beginning to dwindle.
Irritably rubbing his cheek, Jim turns away and tries to relax his aching limbs, but Ganteiana persists, trying to slap him again. Jim tries to ignore her, but her constant pestering prevents him from getting a very restful break.

When Ganteiana finally gives up, Jim sighs in relief and shoots her a dark look before trying to rest again.
Ganteiana just glares at him irritably, before promptly settling down on the floor, looking sulky. Her last command has left her confused though, so she just decides to take the easy one.

Battle notes

- Jim's attraction distracted him from chilling on the first action, while he recovered less energy on his second action because he was getting slapped about. =P
- Ugh, I thought I'd already posted this. I need to keep better track of things, but being behind on NaNoWriMo and all...
- Involuntary Twitch attacks first.

All right, Ana. You're doing a good job. :3 Now, for this round, your objectives are the same: keep him from chilling in whatever way possible.

Oh, but since he's awake, let's immobilize him first. Fire spin the first round, with extra emphasis on slowing him down and less on actually damaging him if you can. Then--(awh, wish Torchics learned Taunt) try a swagger now that he's sufficiently not in love with you, telling him how stupid he was for falling for your tricks and making him soooo confused. If that gets to him, next round dodge anything he throws at you or chill if he doesn't. If swagger didn't work in the second action, though, do it again.

Fire Spin ~ Swagger ~ Dodge/Chill/Swagger

Okay, Jim, I'm sorry to say this, but she's not into you...You should take your frustration out on her. Then, go for her head with a Poison Jab...and, if your up to it, if she hasn't been poisoned, use toxic if she has, then use slash

...Breakups are always painful.
