FR/LG Assistance with in-game team...

Icalasari

YAY! NEW AVATAR! :D
I believe this is the right spot. Anyways, just beat Brock with my level 36, ev-trained Charizard that I trained exclusively on that file (can you tell that I was bored?) and now I am deciding the rest of my IN-GAME (else this would be in competitive) team. Help? It may become a bit competitive later on

Flare (Charizard)
Female - Level 36
Naughty @ Nothing
Flamethrower
Wing Attack
Scratch (Will be Slash later)
Metal Claw (Swords Dance later?)

Parasect OR Vileplume
Clefable
Arbok
Slowbro/Gopduck (can't remember which is found in Fire Red) OR Poliwrath
Dugtrio

Suggestions? I cannot trade on this game

...Ok, maybe this does belong in competitive, but I am on the wii and I'm sure as hell not retyping this on here

Wait, you trained your Charmander to level 36 before fighting BROCK?? O_O I am impressed.

Choose either Vileplume or Venomoth (Because both are awesome)
Choose Golduck because he's better than Poliwrath in my opinion.

I would actually say go for Slowbro. You don't get Poliwrath from the Slowbro line. You get Slowking, whereas Golduck doesn't get a further evolution. Stats-wise, Slowking's got a better Special Attack and Special Defense, and can learn better Psychic attacks. (Golduck doesn't naturally learn Psychic)

I agree on getting Vileplume though. He's awesome~

In-game teams really don't matter, especially with your Charizard all buffed up already. Use Pokémon you like - the game will be much more fun for you. (;

Just checked as I was finally assed to. Psyduck is the Firered exclusive. Else I would have probably not even had a problem with choosing (Slowbro ftw!)

And Aurora, I am kind of obsessed with making my in-game teams semi-competitive... Why else would I ev train and level up a Charmander to level 36... Before even facing Brock (besides for how funny it would be :D)? *Will be doing that with Squirtle when I get a new Leafgreen :D And also will be recording the battle this time >.<*

I would have likely not made this thread if the Paras I caught to compare stats with other Paras didn't have 9 speed... At level 7... x.x

Use the Pokemon you love. Who said there was a law that you were stuck using Pokemon only to win the most battles.

I know, but I usually train the Pokemon I love for my most serious teams. With ingame, I get the best early-on Pokemon I can, unless there is a Pokemon I REALLY want...

I think you should just use the Pokémon you love as well. That's what I always do, and it makes the game more enjoyable.
