Attacks and Abilities Guide

if transform is used on a pokémon which is on the field, but for whatever reason cannot be seen (such as after falling while in the middle of the sky), does the user still gain movepool and abilities?

ed: if protect is used on a large pokémon with a much smaller pokémon close to or on it, would it be possible to protect both?

No, the transforming pokémon must be able to see its target to complete a perfect transformation.

Yes, you can shield a small pokémon through a large one using protect, if the one using protect can put itself between the small pokémon and the pokémon making the move.

What would happen in the case of an imperfect transformation? Is it possible to order a transform to be botched in some way (no legs, more legs, something)?

It's one of the other transform options:

The user may also transform into [...] a pokémon not currently on the field. In the case of the latter, only the pokémon's physical form and types will be gained--neither its movepool nor its abilties will be acquired. Additionally, if the gender of the pokémon to be transformed into is not specified, it will be chosen at random.

If the user isn't able to see its target, but tries to transform into it, you get that kind of transformation instead: typing, gross physical attributes, but none of the abilities or other perks.

Yes. Ditto always retains transform, no matter what it happens to be at the moment.

Although it can be disabled/imprisoned/what have you, but the option is always there.

How is energy for non-damaging moves that don't fit into the categories in the Energy and Damage Post calculated? I mean for moves such as Spite, Recycle, Teleport, Quash, etc.

Can a pokemon grab another and Teleport both of them away?

Assuming that one has multiple Red Cards (either due to Recycle or being rich), can they be used to ban different moves on a single pokemon? Does Red Card take an action to use?

Can a pokemon give its hold item to another without knowing the move Bestow? If so, does that take up an action?

Generally, those effects cost 4% energy.

Yes, you can use teleport to move any pokémon you're in physical contact with.

Red card does not take an action to use, and yes, you can use it to ban multiple moves if you have more than one. You can only ban a move on the action that it hits you, though.

Pokémon can give items to allied pokémon (opponents won't just up and accept items from strangers, hence the need for bestow et al), but it will take an action to do so.

The description for Helping Hand is pretty vague. Does it multiply the base power of the ally's move by 1.5, or does it do something else in this league?

Would it take an action for both pokemon involved, or does only the giver need to spend an action?

Would Grudge take energy to put up like Protect or Destiny Bond, so that if the user faints, the move is banned, or does the user use it after they're knocked out?

And would the following conditional be acceptable:
'Use X but if you are going to be knocked out by an attack Grudge it'

wait, really? it ... makes the pokémon lose energy first, then gain it back?
No, it just reduces the amount of energy chill gives back.

Grudge has to be set up in advance, yes, and it takes energy. There is no way for a pokémon to know ahead of time whether it's going to get knocked out in a round, so that command string is invalid.

does mass remain constant, or also scale?
Yes, mass also scales down appropriately.
