Yeah!!!!!!!!
Despite how annoyed I am at the number of sprite contests recently, I'm starting my own because it looks so fun. D: *Hypocrite*
Oh, and I will not be saving a spot for anybody, sorry. If you start working on a sprite for this contest but somebody else submits a sprite and takes the last spot sooner, too bad for you. :[ And I do not accept JPGs.
Round 1
Theme - Turning Pokémon into inanimate objects.
Anybody who knew me well at all from the old forums should remember my old avatar with a Drifloon edited to look like a balloon. You'll be doing something similar - simply pick any Pokémon you like and turn it into an inanimate object. You've got quite a lot of possibilities here, hm? Before anybody asks, you'll have to edit them completely into the object - remove the face, any limbs that can't be edited to be part of the object, etc. There should hardly be any evidence left that it was once a -living- thing. (I should be able to tell, if only just barely, what Pokémon it was edited from, though. Otherwise it might as well just be a scratch sprite.) Oh, and you can't use parts from other Pokémon, whether they're edited or not. If you're turning a Riolu into a lamp, you'll have to make the lampshade from scratch.
Entrants-
1. PichuK
2. Kai
3. ultraviolet
4. Caazper
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.
Judging-
Originality - 15 points possible.
You'll be judged here based on how original the edit you made was. Changing an Electrode into a beach ball certainly won't net you many points in this category.
Shading - 10 points possible.
Does the shading match the object? Did you edit the original Pokémon's shading to be more dull or shiny, if necessary?
Scratching - 5 points possible.
You'll almost certainly have to scratch some stuff for this round, and in this category you'll be judged for how well you scratched. If it's clear you didn't scratch anything at all, you get a default zero in this category.
Overall - 20 points possible
Pretty much everything else. Do the colors match up well with the object, does the Pokémon actually look like the object you chose, are there still hints that it was once alive, etc.
Winners get a gold, silver, or bronze plaque with their sprites and names on it, for first, second, and third place respectively. (Aha. How original.) They'll also get their name on a little "winners" list for that round.
Have fun! ;)
