Birthday haul & saw my big sister! :D

It was my birthday on the 28th, and it was great~ I got the game I wanted, The World Ends With You (fiiinally~) and my mum got me an acoustic guitar god yes. It's so beautiful. Obviously I love my really expensive electric guitar to death, but it's so heavy and annoying to retune constantly and much harder to practice on. Plus if I get guitar lessons next year I'd take my acoustic since it's lighter and not as expensive. :D

I went out for a meal with some family that lives in the same town (and my mum and little sister) and then, even more awesome, my big half-sister came to visit! In the last few years we've been told we have older half-siblings in their twenties and although it's really weird and disorientating they're awesome so I'm really happy about being able to see them.

She's going to Afghanistan again though and I'm worried about her, because she's in the military police and just... yeah. But they'll be teaching the Afghan police, and it sounds like she enjoys doing that.

And she is so awesome. XD When a tall, extremely pretty woman walked through - with a lip piercing and a tongue piercing - my mum just froze and then decided she'd probably get on with her. x3 I was worried, because clearly my mum doesn't like talking about my dad's kids from a previous marriage.

All in all, a really awesome birthday! And now I'm sixteen, yay~!

actually, my birthday was on the 28th, too, and i turned seventeen. and i bought an electric guitar, which i find is more fun to practice on. D:

but it's cool that you got to see your family! my dad left for california to sort out his grandfather's will or something; he doesn't get along with his family well. after meeting them for the first time in years over christmas, i don't really blame him.

anyway, i'm glad that your birthday was cool. mine was fairly low-key, but i wanted it to be.

"Afghan police" - It makes me laugh for some peculiar reason.

Glad you had fun~ and congrats on 16. ,x3
Aw lucky.. I kind of wish I bothered learning guitar, it seems like something actually enjoyable (after you get past the stage where you suck and can't play anything.. Which I didn't). ,,xD

Happy Birthday! Sounds like you had a great time. :D

Congratualtions on the guitar - my sister plays acoustic and it always sounds so pretty and ahh~ Enjoy it. Also, a friend of mine had her Dad come back safe from Afghanistan this week and she was crazy happy about it; it must've been nice for you to meet up with your sister for a while. :3

Oh no, the Afghan Police! Hide your knit blankets!

That actually sounds cool, although the only problem I have with acoustic guitars is that they can't play any awesome solos because the neck effectively stops at like, the 18th fret, depending on the kind you have. They are good to practice bending on, though. (Also if you get a nice bag and strap the weight of the electric is negligible. Look into that.)

Happy (now very late) birthday! :D

Is TWEWY good? Congrats on everything, especially the new guitar and stuff (you should post pictures) and getting to see your sis (and your mum getting along with her) and generally being sixteen!

Thanks very much, guys! :D

fc: D: Aww, you win. And I prefer low-key birthdays as well, it's nicer when people just go, "Oh, it's your birthday? Happy birthday!"

Felidire: Thanks! Aw, I like learning how to play guitar even if it will take about a year of suckage before I can actually do much. 'Cause I know if I keep trying, I'll get better eventually, so that's exciting~!

Kinova: Definitely. It's a great feeling seeing your loved ones come back and then they're completely safe. Heh, I personally think acoustic guitars sound much nicer...

Vyraura: It IS kind of annoying about the neck stopping so soon. Before I got my own guitar, I had to suffer with that every time I used my dad's to practice though as I play left-handed...

Dannichu: Yeah, TWEWY is great! So hard though. XD I should post pictures if I can... thank you~!
