Okay but actually mewtini was the person I had in mind when I was like, it seems like this person has a lot of opinions based on things that seem relatively thin to me. (Looking back, I guess it's not so much the volume of reads bc she hasn't actually expressed reads on a number of folks, but like, hmm... stagnancy?) Would you like to conduct some science?

i would usually disregard posts about myself when we aren’t close to EoD, but i am literally about to board a flight so i will make my post now: Pls i am so excited to play tcodfia and i finally randed town i will be devastated if i die d1 and i have bad luck as per usual and end up as wolf next game

also i can’t wxplain this, it is literally just vibes, but i’m realizing that the mawile pile-on feels too uncontested and i’m lowkey getting scared so i’m going to follow my sleep-deprived heart and do something epic

idk how to read the fact that no one has really defended mawile other than me but i don’t have time to think about this game right now and i refuse to no-vote

@DarkAura Have you got any thoughts on Mawile and MF? If they fall under your "seems authentic" umbrella, what specifically from them did you think was towny?

(I have never played BotC over voice chat. That sounds really fun and also probably more in line with the original game!)

my opinion about Dodge is I guess, I'm very happy that he's trying, like, he's not responding just "I don't know" to everything. he is actually giving stances, however soft. him questioning us on the Ever read, saying he actually read it as mafia behaviour, is something that sticks out maybe a bit positively to me. (I guess that's also not just speaking when spoken to, despite what you said?)

As for your parenthetical, he said that about Ever in direct response to a question from me! But okay, maybe I should be more charitable.

oh my bad, I hadn't noticed/remembered. I thought it was unprompted. also this was in another post but I wasn't attributing the only speaking when spoken to thing to you, I was just replying to it generally since it was on my mind.

that’s real … i’m just not sure how to read this when the day has been pretty slow and some people have barely checked in/not shown up at all. i guess i feel like it’s just sort of silently continued to gain votes

not really... some of missingno's and Dodge's replies to our questions have felt a bit forced but we are literally being like "pretty please can you come up with something, anything would do" so like, duh? I don't find it indicative on either of their parts

this game is making me go so grrrr because like. I want to vote in the middle of the reads list whatever. but the middle is just full of people that I feel like I can't vote for reasons that aren't game-related. either they haven't had enough time to post much, or they're a new player, or they are dearest friend mewtini, or

Okay, my emotions are successfully appealed to, but for posterity, what I meant about stagnancy/agenda is that I feel like mewt has held onto reads based on ~early events even after other things have happened, like still assessing missingno based on not caring about my random vote; or not, to my memory, having more thoughts about MF other than the easy early +town. But like, I don't want to go after mewtini for not going deeper into the game.

mewt, why the Dodge vote?

The thing I wanted to say about Mawile is, I had felt like no one in the thread had been interested in defending him. Like, missingno didn't vote a possible counterwagon even when I specifically asked him about it. But now I don't think it's true - mewtini of course, but also DarkAura slight townreading him, xrunner voting for the other competing wagon sort of counts. (Also, now that mewtini has brought this up I don't think the thread atmosphere around Mawile counts for much.)

To fold in the point about agendas, to me it seems like no one has a super strong opinion about the direction of the thread, which could mean that mafia are comfortable with where things are going (i.e. Mawile is town), or that mafia aren't but don't feel like they have the influence in thread to do anything about it, or that mafia are just inactive. Or that people just aren't going to care for another few hours! So I dunno

mewt, why the Dodge vote?

1. from my limited memory, even though dodge is a less experienced player than some of us, he had gotten more comfortable posting his thoughts by the end of the last game i played with him
2. i agree that he has seemed very self-conscious and deferential as you said (i independently had that thought) and i think it doesn’t match up with the amount that he’s played
3. this is evil but i feel the least bad voting him because i ended up somewhere between him/butterfree paranoia/missingno

also yeah i haven’t gotten as deep into the game as i would’ve liked. this Day fell during a very unfortunate time for me (traveling home/through timezones the next few days, Grad School quarter ending) and i spent literally 12 hours yesterday doing coding for my quarter project lol

honestly this entire game is sort of occurring at a weird transitional time for me but i am really looking forward to being able to play without the pressure of having to do schoolwork

oops i forgot to write the reasoning. as in

i don’t really know why i’m feeling unsure about butterfree, i get paranoid about her pretty much every game and especially after cats mafia. i think part of it was her mawile vote but idk. missingno i have already talked about but yeah, my read there is frozen-ish and i haven’t gotten to reeval other than i am not sure i like their I’m Town! bit. but also they’re new and i don’t like voting out newbie slots d1/before they get time to settle :-(
