my opinion about Dodge is I guess, I'm very happy that he's trying, like, he's not responding just "I don't know" to everything. he is actually giving stances, however soft. him questioning us on the Ever read, saying he actually read it as mafia behaviour, is something that sticks out maybe a bit positively to me. (I guess that's also not just speaking when spoken to, despite what you said?)

As for your parenthetical, he said that about Ever in direct response to a question from me! But okay, maybe I should be more charitable.

in general, I don't think only speaking when spoken to is alignment indicative for a newer player. I had no fucking clue what I was supposed to talk about in my first games. I mean that's the whole reason I was asking Dodge and missingno? stuff earlier, in hopes that I could help them get into things.

I WILL SAY the prodding I've been getting from you and the others has been super helpful in moving me from 'I Have No Opinions' to 'I Have The Beginnings Of An Opinion,' so it's been appreciated!! ٩(^ᗜ^ )و ´-

I don't currently have strong reads on anyone. I'd like to reread a bit and post something more in depth but I got caught up with vibeo games last night and now I'm at work, so am not sure I will have time before day ends. My purely vibes-based feelings are that in general I don't find it suspicious if people only respond when asked a direct question, especially on day 1 of a daystart. I'm also having more trouble than I thought I would following along with the threads (especially on my phone) so hopefully I can iron out some of my thoughts as I adjust to reading along.

Just to be clear, I don't think that only speaking when asked questions is wolfy, and if I did say that somewhere, I miscommunicated. I was talking about that because MF mentioned it in her reads list as a way to group the people she found scummy, Mawile and missingno, and I thought it was odd that Dodge arguably also met that description but was in her town category. However, it may have been just that, a way to point out something that happened to be in common between her mafia reads without being a sufficient condition for a mafia read. (I mean, in general, I guess evidence that someone is thinking about the game outside of when they're talking to someone is towny, but I recognize that's not how a lot of people prefer to play, haha.)

yeah there is not really any proof for anything I could see yet, makes sense for day 1 but I'm still not sure if I should vote for anyone or not.

If you're town, your vote is a strong weapon! It helps stop mafia from being in charge of who is killed during the day. Also, even if you don't feel like you have any good reasons to vote, seeing who you vote and why can help other people make reads. That can help them use their roles more effectively, which helps with getting concrete proof of things down the line.

No specifics I can really point to, I just don't get a mafia read from either of their posts, and in my mind I kinda consider it like "not mafia? okay bet so town" lmao! I did see Mawile's no elim vote as innocuous enough especially when randomized ties are on, so it surprised me a little to see people ping that as suspicious. But that's coming from someone who doesn't remember much how it plays mafia games usually so :V

Anyway hi I have managed to catch up on the thread but at this point I don’t think any further rereading is going to be able to happen until I get home tonight and my phone battery is low. I guesssss I will provisionarily Vote: Mawile for now to see what happens and reevaluate later.

I generally agree with the evaluation that Ever’s MF vote seems towny, for what it’s worth.

it's generally been my experience that a higher proportion of mafia members can be found in the middle of people's reads lists than on the top and, notably, the bottom, even when those sections are the same size. (the directions I'm talking about are town reads at the top of the list, wolf reads at the bottom of the list). so I think I need to be looking more at the people I'm whatever about than at the people I find possibly suspicious. and this probably goes for most others as well. but also like I don't wanna do that because it's just like taking something I don't find actively suspicious and trying to launch them into the sun for no reason, which is why I haven't brought this up yet because wtf do you do with this knowledge man.

dunno lmao but I still feel like the bottom of the list might be the wrong place.

as for why mewtini I literally have nothing I can actually tell you, sorry. she just keeps coming to mind whenever I try to think of who I would want to vote besides the people who seem to have emerged as the "obvious suspects".

For today, I think I will Vote: No Elimination.
I'm not sure if it'd be worth it to vote someone off immediately on day 1. I'll probably vote for someone properly on day 2, but since nothing has really happened today no elimination just seems like the right option for day 1.

I think this makes the votes between no elim and mawile even (for now)

Maybe someone will turn things around, who knows............ (dots for dramatic effect)

Can you say more about this? Where do you think their TMI would come into play - like, knowing that town are on the wrong track, or what? I find it, I guess you could say "interesting" that missingno has been one of the more active people in this game while expressing literally one opinion related to anyone's alignment, haha, but that seems to be the opposite of how I hear TMI used.

tmi in the sense that they have knowledge that makes them not give a fuck about votes being thrown around. eg if mawile is town then i would see this as being a bit weird for missingno

is that any different from most of the thread? I'm not sure anyone particularly cares about the votes being thrown around except Mawile

i’m going off of what you and i were both saying, though; as a new player i would have expected them to be more reactive to those votes than baseline.

Mawile on the other hand is by no means new, so that could mean something for it. I'm glad it's posting more now though I haven't been swayed much as it was mostly setup speculation.

tbh they focus on mech earlygame as town too though :v which is why im so unsure
