Most battles don't go further than the eighteenth round; this battle was about to delve nine rounds past that, and with much still to come.

Bromine quickly shielded herself with a pulse of energy. It would not in any way interfere with enemy attacks, but would quickly heal away any lasting anomalies. Miffed by this, her opponent pumped out electric pulses from each one of his smoke blowing holes, several of them succesfully landing the mark and causing a numbing jolt.

The Vulpix proceeded to move as he'd done earlier, letting a small fire overheat the air below Mollser. Not very pleased with this attack and how it messed with his gases, he prepared a blob dripping with assorted toxins, then lobbed it straight into his enemy's eye.

Amping up the arms race of pure anger, the fox Pokémon responded to this by making the cooking system burn even harsher. With a stroke of luck, she got it to just the right temperature for several of the opponent's gases to react violently. The result was a little inner explosion.

While a counterstrike would have been great, the landmine Pokémon would have to recover from that first, and had no objections to just fluttering about lazily until the end of round.

I don't believe Vulpix can learn taunt, so we should be in the clear here. Rain dance first, then pain split, but wait until she's moved first. If you can't do that, then try and fire off the pain split even if she protects and hope that she's worn out her defenses from last time. Finish with sludge bomb.

The bar of expectations would have to be set a little high after the mutual crittery from the previous round. While there would be no more dancing with the damage cap for the time being, though, it would still prove to be a decisive round.

Usually being at least moderately polite, Bromine didn't know many sick burns outside of the literal ones. Valiantly, she still tried barking at her foe about how he was such a meanyface and all, but he actually appeared to be less insulted with each statement.

Not minding the Vulpix, Mollser began to work on his orders. First, he puffed up and released a cloud. This wasn't one of his typical venom gases, however -- it was actually a raincloud, put together with a little help from minorly present Water-type powers. It climbed a few ways up and stretched to roughly the diameter of the arena before starting to pour.

And now the trainers and referee would have to do this marathon battle while soaked. It was quite considerate to whip that move out.

While the fox Pokémon kept at her non-jabs -- aware that her command was to try it until it worked -- the Koffing easily proceeded into the most complicated move among his orders. Establishing a mental link between himself and his opponent, he tried to equalize the two mental states. With a bark from the referee, however, he was forced to stop halfway, having only crippled his enemy without healing himself.

After this, the landmine Pokémon dropped a quip about showing some real bile, then proceeded to drop something else: another Sludge Bomb attack.

Even after the end of the round, Bromine was still going for the pathetic insults.

Oh, huh, I'd always assumed that pain split just didn't count as a direct healing move, so it could slip by. I guess I'll double check though. Watch this space.

Sludge bomb all round I guess. Use disable on pain split or disable. Close your eyes and use shock wave if she tries swagger, confuse ray or hypnosis. Also do this if there's any clones about or if sludge bomb has been disabled.

Bromine let out a sigh as her limp-wristed (limp-jawed?) shot at smack talk came to a rather overdue end. A new batch of commands rolled in, and it was time for the increasingly weary battlers to butt heads again.

Except Mollser's batch was a bit more than he could handle. He got that Sludge Bomb was the baseline, but started to get confused with the multiple Disable specifications, and then Shock Wave got thrown into the mix. It was his turn to remain functionally motionless as the opponent attacked.

With the only exception that said opponent didn't attack, instead blocking no particular attack with a shielding barrier.

Seeing no intention of movement in her foe, the Vulpix proceeded to her next command. She had to hesitate a jot to figure what she had to do, but quickly realized one of the possibilities was rather unreasonable. Going with the other, she lunged at her target, ramming headfirst with a tackle that added minor telekinesis to sheer movement.

The psychic energy pushed the confused Koffing away further than would be usual, nearly upsetting the unsetady balance of gases within him. Furious, he decided that he had no time to mull over his complex orders, and instead rushed recklessly to deliver a highyl untechincal body slam. After the impact, he could hardly keep his motions in control and hit the ground facefirst before floating up again.

As he reeled to get back in position, he was struck by yet another Zen Headbutt, and quickly figured that he would be better off using actual attacks. He still had no idea of what exactly, but took a guess, going with a nasty blob of sludge and explosive gases. Bromine's Safeguard prevented the scaterred venom from penetrating her skin, but it was no less unpleasant, specially coupled with the burst damage.

Just after that one attack was cleaned away, the aforementioned Safeguard was dismissed.

Additional notes:
- According to Negrek, attempting to Disable two different moves takes up two conditionals, which means Mollser crossed the four-conditional limit. This led to inaction at first, then Struggle, then an erratic action.
- It's outright stated in the Attacks and Abilities Guide that "Bide requires three consecutive actions to execute effectively." As such, I'm pretty sure you can't release it in the second action.
- bulbasaur attacks first next round.
 
Protect against Explosion or Self-destruct. Hypnosis if Mollser is not asleep, however Zen Headbutt if he has a Substitute or a 2nd/3rd action Uproar. Rain should pass through clones, allowing you to identify them. Default to Zen Headbutt.

Hrmm, try closing your eyes against the hypnosis and fire off a shock wave. If it works as planned, you'll not be asleep, so he'll continue trying to hypnosis you while you whittle away at his health. If not, just snore if you're asleep, or go for a sludge bomb if he opts for a zen headbutt.

The rain progressively thinned into a drizzle as the battle reached its thirtieth round. Both trainers showed mild signs of fatigue with the long-running battle, but knew it still had much of a course to run.

Bromine's gentle brown eyes sparked an eerie red light. She sought her foe's eyes... But they were well hidden beneath his eyelids. Expecting that one wouldn't manage to go an entire round without seeing anything, she kept her stare fixed, patiently awaiting for an opening.

It would never come. Mollser was instead running blind with wide-range electric attacks that left no room for mistake -- although at least one accidentally hit one of the humans as well. Defiant to the end, the Vulpix continued holding onto hope for at least a split second of eye contact; it didn't take long for her to succumb to the constant zapping, however, as she had already been thorougly battered previously.

By the time her opponent's eyes opened again, hers were already closed.

- The Shock Wave barrage did exactly enough damage for a knockout.
- Next round, bulbasaur sends out, then Byrus issues commands, then bulbasaur issues commands.
 
Explosion. If he protects, detects or moves out of range (Like with dig), just fire off a natural gift. Also do this is there is a substitute. Use flamethrower in place of natural gift if it gets disabled. (Sweep it around if there happens to be any clones)
