• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Game tools?

So recently I found out that Sphere is used to make rpgs, and I already knew that there are other RPG Makers out there, but I was wondering if there where any such programs or tools for the classic platformer. I have been wanting to make one for some time now and would really appreciate the help.

RPG Maker XP is simple and diverse, but Eclipse can probably work. Sphere is too complicated, trust me.

I think you miss understood me. I'm wondering if there are similar programs/tools for platforming games, like Super Mario Bros. I'd rather make one of those than do the generic Pokemon hack or Pokemon game built from scratch.

I know.

Hence the suggestions.

There are scripts out there for rmxp to make platform games, also, I believe that game maker is the best too for platform games.

I...actually downloaded Game Maker long ago. Kinda forgot about it, but then again I couldn't quite figure it out. I'll keep the suggestions in mind then and work with Game Maker some more so I can find out how to work it.
