Arena: Black Lotus Mausoleum
The Black Lotus Mausoleum is a vast area, easily large enough to fit several Wailord from end to end. It has a high vaulted ceiling, and is carved entirely from black marble. The ceiling his held up by several pillars carved like black dragons, and the walls are engraved with intricate but seemingly random shapes. There is a huge door in the farthest wall, but it is shut firmly, and impossible to destroy or open. It is flanked by twin dragon statues with their mouths wide open.
As the arena is inside, weather effects do not work. The Mausoleum seems oddly resistant to damage, and to repair itself of any harm in the last action of each round. The walls and ceiling cannot be collapsed, and the floor will take 5% extra energy to dig through.
If a battler gets too close to the twin dragons guarding the door, they will spew forth a torrent of Dark-type energy, dealing 5% damage to any within 3 feet of the door.
It had been two months since either of the battlers had spoke, and now they were sitting cross-legged on the mausoleum floor, looking uneasy. No matter where they looked, there was always a dragon statue in sight, and they did not look welcoming. With their mouths open wide, eyes glowering, it was as if they were warning the humans not to stay for any longer. The referee, however, took no notice – in fact, he seemed to have fallen into a deep stupor. He did nothing but stare blankly ahead, and no amount of slapping, shaking, and pinching could snap him out of it.
Giving up, one of the battlers had called for an emergency referee. The call was quickly answered. Suddenly, the doors began to rattle furiously, as if someone was trying to get into the room. Predictably, they did not budge. Muffled curses reached the battlers’ ears, then a large portal opened up in the middle of the room and a gigantic mechanical dragon stepped out. Quickly, she rummaged through a bag hanging around her neck and drew out two small red flags, then waved them to continue the stalled battle.

Spacial Core, eager to finish the battle, immediately braced itself against the floor and pointed one of its arms at Milla. The Mincinno could only whimper before a stream of water rocketed towards her. It was not nearly as strong as the Hydro Pump – Milla was merely pushed back a foot or so. Unfortunately, while the attack lacked sheer power, it made up for it with deviousness. Instead of freshwater, Milla found herself doused with salt water. She screamed as the salt chafed her skin and ate at her wounds; it was even worse than being pinned to a wall with sheer amounts of liquid, and she thought the burning would never stop. At last, Spacial Core’s water supply was exhausted for the moment, and Milla managed to catch a moment’s reprieve. The Mincinno was a sorry sight indeed, dripping wet and absolutely miserable.
It seemed that the ASB deities enjoyed watching small mammals suffer. Milla’s body stiffened as paralysis seized her muscles again. Try as she might, she could not move so much as a paw. Even her eyelids refused to close. She didn’t have to move to clear her mind, but she was so panicked that it was a difficult task. Fear, exhaustion, and pain kept disrupting her attempts at calming herself down, and in the end she only managed to receive half the benefits.
It didn’t matter if Milla had successfully completed her Calm Mind, though. Another torrent of salt water blasted against the mammal’s body. Despite her improved resilience against the elements, the burning pain and the ice-cold water were too much for her. When the Brine was completed, Milla was lying in a crumpled, soaking heap on the floor, comatose.

Final notes
Milla was paralyzed on the first action.
Since Calm Mind doesn’t require movement, I rolled a dice to see if she’d be able to use it. As a result she got reduced effects (only +1 sp. def).
Milla fainted on the second action.
Milla was quickly absorbed into her Pokeball – even unconscious, the Mincinno twitched in pain. Coloursfall needed the salt out of her wounds quickly. Spacial Core spent a bit longer outside of her capsule. Upon being coaxed, it gave her trainer a high-five; then it was recalled as well.
The referee struggled to distribute the monetary prizes – the lack of opposable thumbs was irritating. After receiving the money, the trainers teleported off with the help of Kusarigamaitachi’s Abra. The referee decided to take the old-fashioned way out, tottering towards the doors. Apparently she didn’t know the arena well. Upon reaching the doors she was bathed with searing dark energy, and it was with a curse that she backed off, opened up a portal with her ninjatoes, and jumped in.
The battle is over and Kusarigamaitachi is the winner. It gets $16. Lust and Spacial Core both get 2 EXP, and Spacial Core can now evolve as it was holding a Water Stone.
Coloursfall gets $6, and Coeur and Milla both get 1 EXP.
I get $5 for reffing; Pathos can claim the other $5.
