Happy Birthday Lincoln, Darwin.

I didn't know Lincoln was born on the same day until the New York Times pointed it out to me. 8) Go google for choosing Darwin Day for their logo! :D

Calm down, Vlad. At least we HAVE Darwin on our money. Be thankful it isn't David Beckham.

Anyway, happy birthday to both~

If Britain does, I'll miss their pound coins. D: Oh well, I'll move on.

Yay for Darwin and Lincoln~

I've already been to a huge birthday party for Darwin today they threw over at the Darwin College. It was gooood :D

The Queen's on every UK note. Darwin's on one side of a tenner, Queenie's on the other side. The guy on the other side of a twenty is Adam Smith, who made pin factories (or something) and the fiver has (or at least used to have) Elizabeth Fry, who was epic.

Same with coins; one side has one design, the other has Queenie's face.

When you say Queenie like that it makes me think of Blackadder II's Queenie, which automatically makes it awesome.
But yeah do they print some new notes every time there's a new head of the royal family? Will your next notes feature William then?

Haha it's in these situations that I feel sorry for Charles. He waited his whole life to be King and ol' Lizzie turns out to be extreme as hell and will never abdicate/die.
At least he's got his free bus pass now.

I am totally cheering for her to beat the record.

offtopic polltime: who would win in a fight between lincoln and darwin

i've got my five dollar bills and pennies money on lincoln

I wish the US $10 had someone cool on it. Instead we got Alexander Hamilton. What the hell did he do again?

My teacher held a discussion in class today about who was more influential (in two of my classes, actually).

One voted Lincoln, and the other voted Darwin.

I would personally say Darwin, because the thing Lincoln's pretty much known for is the Emancipation Proclamation, and the abolishment of slavery probably would have happened anyways. Darwin on the other hand is the father of modern biology... meh, that's just me I guess.

Lincoln's importance is mostly limited to the US. Darwin provided the pillar that supports modern biology. No contest?
