Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.
Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.
Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?
No time to discuss this now, deferring to next post.Another suggestion regarding the Dex Registry- can the movepool size restriction be widened a little? 4 egg and tutor moves per line (not including the tutor moves you're allowed free because everything else learns them) seems pretty stingy since most canon Pokémon seem to learn an awful lot more. And a maximum of 48 out of 100 TMs and HMs per Pokémon at its third stage of evolution seems few to me, especially if one's trying to get a Normal-type through, which historically need to learn TMs of moves they really have no business using.
Perhaps you could get the opportunity to add tutor moves as a Pokémon evolves, like you can level-up and TM moves, and the rules could be changed for fakemon with only two stages, since the current system treats them like basic and stage-one Pokémon in a three-stage line.
I might do that.perhaps set two-stage to be equivalent to second-third, and standalones equivalent to seconds, for consistency with attack and energy cost modifiers.
oh, and furret has 45 tm/hms. just for reference.
I don't think it would make sense to have happiness be contingent upon evolution line situation... some pokémon are harder to get than others.Perhaps lower the number of happypoints a three-stage evolution line requires to evolve?
Because five happypoints plus a battle with an oval stone seems a bit much to get a Death Nurse.
You get the same number of happiness points as you would experience for any battle. How is it harder to acquire than EXP?Happiness is ridiculously hard to acquire. It's akin to getting six exp points, really.
I might lower it a bit, but the free capture is supposed to be a cool bonus rather than a major incentive. Anyone who completes a significant number of battles can easily buy a large number of pokémon anyway, unless they lust only after rarity sevens and eights or something. Also the referee's free-capture system seems skewed a bit high; sixteen battles for a $30 poké seems slightly ridiculous.
There isn't at the moment, and I'm not inclined to copy and paste all the descriptions into one place. I may make an index of all the posts that contain item information. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but is there a place that lists all the current items in use and their effects? If not, a sticky with that info would be nice.
Polling ten second-stage pokémon I cam up with an average of 43 TM's/HM's (range 32-59), so 48 seems entirely reasonable to me. I will probably add a couple more move tutor slots and perhaps one or two more egg moves.Mike the Foxhog said:View Post

The azumarill line is rather an outlier in any case, but I will probably lower happiness requirements slightly.Let's put it this way: it takes the same amount of experience to get an Azumarill as it does to get a Tyranitar.
It just seems like a bit too much.
I am redoing my damage and energy scale so that at least damaging moves no longer use PP to determine energy cost. If I keep PP in use for determining the energy cost of non-damaging attacks, I might add either a base energy value or a PP cost to the A&AG.I think that the base PP for a move should be put into the Attacks and Abilities Guide. It's annoying to switch back and forth between here and Bulbapedia to look up energy and damage.
Yes, happiness points will go down to four.Maybe lower happy points to about four? I've found that Pokemon that evolve through happiness in the games don't require too much effort to raise (my Budew evolved at around lv. 12, iirc).
In addition, I'd probably skew the pro rarities a bit. I find it ridiculous that you can get a Spiritomb for less than an Unown; I understand you use catch rates, but it still creates some problems.
