HG/SS Headbutting what the hell

I want a Heracross, and I need to headbutt trees to get it, fair enough.

So I get Headbutt on some of my Pokémon, and begin hitting trees.

And hitting them.

And hitting them.

But nothing ever falls out what so ever, what the hell.

Seriously, am I doing something wrong or am I just horribly unlucky?

Not every tree has Pokemon in it. If a tree has Pokemon in it, a Pokemon will *always* fall out. Try different trees.

Go to the tree in front of the guy who gives you headbutt, there should be some there. Not sure what time of day, though.
