• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Well by obtaining them, I meant like buying/getting them for your deck. I was thinking for the rarer cards/super powerful, we'd start out without them in our decks and have to buy, earn them in tournaments, things of that nature. As for how long it'd take to use them, that'd depend on what dorm you were in or whatever. Example:

Osiris Red: 10-15 turns for strong cards
Ra Yellow- 5- 10
Obelisk- 3-5

I'll be posting my plot idea in a few hours, still need to find a way to phrase it properly.

Again, that system has potential. But, it has the same exact problem that this duel-sim FMC mentioned solves: the turn-based system can be difficult to handle if it's done improvised. If the duel sim works, we could have the duels that way, but still follow the whole "get rarest cards later on" idea.

It's been five years since the Hikari no Kessa/ Society of Light has been defeated. Life has gone on since the catastrophic events of Duel Academia. Life is fairly good and happy. All is well.

Earlier in the year it was announced that a select few would be hosting transfer students from another school. In a weeks time the Start of Term dance will happen and students will be meeting their roommates. This seems good, but is is not. For you see, there has lately been a large case of robberies and if that were to happen to an exchange student, things could get tricky. If the exchange students were to be stolen from, the school could get a bad reputation or run out of business. This is a problem, and one that threatens the school like no other...

I have three ideas for player types:

There are three options here:

1.You are a student who has had either their entire deck, their prized card, or something of value stolen and you've gone to the Chancellor. She's told you that they school will inform you if they catch the thief or thieves but you fill this is not good enough. As you go through the year, you'll be trying to find the thieves and their purpose.

2. You are a transfer student ((these show up later so you may want to double up if you plan to play one)) who has transferred to the school. Your first day there you've noticed that people are suspicious of each other and have set a goal to find out why and how to fix it. You may also have your own goals as well, but these are your priorities.

3. You are one of the five thieves who have been stealing things. It turns out that after the Hikari no Kessha was disbanded, you were left poor and empty. You along with the other four have a plan to get back at the school, even though its savior is gone. You plan to use the stolen property to gain money to buy and build a rival school, much grander than Duel Academia. You may have your own goals as well, but this is a priority.

Duel simulation works too. That or we describe the more important turns in detail and give a brief summary of what happened between terms, worked out over PM.

*pokes head in* Well you could always use an online duel sim thingy to do the battles and then type them up RP-style after. I know a good one, I'm getting a link from a friend of mine soon, I can link you guys if you wanna do it that way.

But wouldn't that be ruined if the person you dueled wasn't online?

Also I'd be interested. *cuddles her Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon based deck*

My dragon is better. >:C

And by the Exo, if we're evil in your RP, will we get to use the Dark Monsters? If so, I take Dark General Freed.

Yes. Those who are evil will get their greedy little hands on the monster that's their medium. I expect one member to Beeline for DaD. I personally stake a claim to Dark Horus and Horus LV8.

I'm not quite sure if I should drop grepher and put in Dark Voltanis.

Oh, hey guys, I got an idea!

In the ancient times, not long after Arceus created the world. There was a group of smaller deities, who all controlled something in life, such as love, sorrow and conflict. Things went smoothly, and they went with their duties. But things got out of hand when Arceus decided to create humans, and the smaller deities did not like the idea. Despite their disagreement, Arceus continued with his plans, which sent them into a rage, and they rebelled against him, challenging him in a battle for the control over the world.

They were almost a match for him when they fought together, but in the end Arceus fended them of, shredding their powers in the process. And he came to the solution he would rule everything himself, and prepared to kill all of them. But, as he prepared the final blow, one of them said "We will be reborn in your world when the time is right, and we will find a way to regain our powers, and then we shall destroy humans, the curse you placed on our precious creation, and then we shall destroy you!"
And in a single blast, all of them died, and Arceus took their duties, and continued watching his world, not knowing those words were true. As one day, ten thousands of years later, they were reborn, born into the bodies of normal Pokémon, but with their memories and a small part of their powers intact, and a determination to get revenge.

However, Arceus did notice this, and tasked a group of Pokémon to find and kill them, giving them some special powers to counter the shreds of godly power their enemies had. He trusted them, and hoped for their victory, for were the rebel gods to get their powers back, hell on earth would break loose.

So, either you can be one of the reborn rebel gods, or you can be one of those chosen to fight them.
Is anyone interested?

MG's idea does sound interesting.

Back on the subject of the YGO RP, though. Which plot idea would the public prefer?

I wouldn't mind joining, MG. However, I'm going on vacation from today until Sunday evening, for the American holiday known as "Thanksgiving." If there's still a spot left for me then, let me know.

I might still log in if I have a chance to, but likely not much until then.

I don't want to start off until we have a tried-and-true duel system. Otherwise, it would take countless posts to resolve a single chain

Well, I checked back, and FMC said that her friend was going to give her a link about the Duel Simulator.

So I suppose we could talk to her about it...?
