vBulletin was the forum software, but it was never the host, so it never lived anywhere under vbulletin.com (unlike with Invisionfree). It's XenForo now, though (but, again, not hosted by XenForo).

Nah vBulletin is still around, the other forum I mentioned uses it. The difference is that you have to host it yourself since vBulletin is just the software. InvisionFree handled hosting and software. I assume that's why they went out of business, because I'm not sure how they made money. Ads I guess.
 
I'm still lurking around as well, in the vague hope of someday reconnecting with someone I lost touch with back in... must have been 2016, if not earlier. I was keeping regular contact with Dar for many years, but sadly I think their number may have changed, because I haven't gotten a response in about a year.

About Invisionfree, that sucks. I used to read the Bogleech forums a lot (although I didn’t post there) and still read and comment on the site itself.
 
So many good sites of days past have either now become dead links or replaced with nasty porno sites. The internet has become a depressing place.

Ahh, Bogleech... Where Cosbydaf first posted his Godzilla Creepypasta (to anyone who knows or cares about it, I'd argue it was one of the few genuinely good Creepypastas out there, let alone within that genre), I remember the exact thread it was posted in... good times.

Actually had an account there, by the way. If you ever saw some guy with a Doomguy avatar and a signature featuring a Half-Life themed parody .gif of the "What is Love" meme, that was me. Can't remember the account name, though.
 
I still occasionally think about Tcod, and I am just now realizing that the forum is still here lmao. It's been almost 15 years ago now since I last logged in, but I still remember the time I spent here quite fondly haha. Now, let's see if I can find the contact info of some old friends...

Oof, I miss Dar too :(

To reply to the OP, I'm vaguely still around, though I was never super active in the first place except in Fish jumpers, which I believe doesn't exist anymore after the forum changes? I don't remember when the changeover was either.
