Closed Legends of Arylettopia: Tarnished Gold

It's been two years since the incident with the Golden Shards, and all is well in Arylettopia - at least, as 'well' as in normally is.

The darkness in Queen Arylett's heart is still there, and seems to become stronger every minute, threatening to consume her. What is more, the Horrid Thing - the human boy who was possessed by a fragment of the aforementioned evil force - is 'visiting' much more regularly - sometimes he attacks multiple times in a week, sweeping across the land and attacking Arylett with an as-of-yet unknown motive - and each time more of his secrets are revealed...

Rules:

1: Please note that we already have a plot that has been planned out, discussed and revised various times. Do not try and steer it in your own direction.

2: Life in Arylettopia is not all perfect-happy-bunnies-rainbows. Do not make your character have some fantastic, amazing way to cure every single bad situation. In real life, not everything is convenient, and so nor should it be here. Try to think realistically.

3: Similar to rule one, do not take control of anything that you should not be controlling - the plot, other people's characters, important NPCs and so on.

4: Please go into detail with your posts, as well as your signing-up form. Try not to post one-liners; three lines shall be the minimum. If you can't think of anything to post, then please, don't, until you think of something.

5: Try to time things at least somewhat realistically. You cannot travel halfway across the world in a couple of words, I don't care how fast your mode of transport is, it's impossible. Describe things as much as you can, please.

6: Please type things properly. Do not use text-talk/chatspeak, do not shorten people's names to their initials and do not show actions using Asterisks or variants of them (*Tells you not to use these*). If you can't be bothered to type pin full, proper English, then what's the point in roleplaying?

7: You may have up to three characters, as long as you are able to keep up to date with all of them.

Brief history: The first thing she can remember is finding a black stone, which hatched into Storm. The two can talk telepathically.

Special abilites: Shapeshifting, and dagger skills.
Pets/Companions: Storm, a black, feather-winged dragon. She can talk to people and animals, telepathically. She's around the size of a large wolf.

Occupation: Princess of Windia and Mage.

Personality: OK then...
Eve makes quick decisions and acts quick which isn't good in some cases. She is a little tiny bit shy in some cases but rarely. She can panic but usually recovers quicker than others, but when she is panicking it can be worse than others. She's quite determined and somewhat competitive.

Appearance: Eve has long, straight, blond hair and looks somewhat like Rosa(see avatar) She is average in weight and height. Her eyes are forest green and her skin is quite light. She wears Princesslike clothes, dresses, capes and all in white or transparent with some red and gold. She has quite small hands and feet, like her mother did. She always wears a necklace with a chocobo shaped out of diamonds on it.
Brief history: Eve was born on the 23 of December 1990 in Windia Castle. Her mother died when she was born. She has spent her whole life in Windia with her father. Yep yep. She was Princess ever since she was born due to her mother dieing at a bad time. Which caused problems for the country. Her father had to take over until she was 5 which was when she got ruling skills and ruled Windia officially. She has had bad experiences with Water. She nearly drowned when her and some of her friends/group were being attacked by Arylectopus. When she was 2 she was having a bath but the water was left running which filled the bath to a point where she couldn't get out of the water and breath. There have been many other cases, mostly when Eve was small but stayed with her in her memory. Eve can't cast water spells.
Special abilites: Um, she's a mage so I guess she can use magic spells. But not water spells. She can but doing it would practically kill her. She can use bows and arrows decently. She can talk with her chocobo in Windian.
Pets/Companions: Lavender returns! Now because their friendship has grown Lavender follows/carries Eve around. For those who don't know...Lavender has a necklace with a small pouch thing on it that can fit anything. Inside there are all of Windia's royal ancient books, Violet[bird translator], weapons and items and a load of other random stuff. Of course Lavender is Lavender coloured :)

Name: His Excellency The Honourable Lennoxroy Windstar, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Council of Eleven to Arlyettopia.
Age: 50, although he looks to be in his late 20s
Gender: Male
Occupation: Pheboraedd's ambassador to Arylettopia

Personality: He is confident and outgoing, but is not abrasive, and is usually tactful and diplomatic. He is very responsible and serious, when he has to be, but he knows when to relax. Generally, he is rather neutral, personality wise, and is rather amicable, so very few people dislike him.
Appearance: Medium hight, with short brown hair, a soft face, shiny brown eyes and a fairly thin frame. He generally wears either a ceremonial uniform, consisting of a deep emerald green cloak, a mid green jacket with copious amounts of gold lace, a white shirt and trousers, black boots and a bicorne hat, or a fatigue uniform, with a brown hooded cloak and leather body armour, green shirt and trousers, and brown boots. He has a curved sabre at his waist and if he is out in the field he will also carry a flintlock musket.
Brief history: One of the famed Windstars of the Rangers, he decided to specialise in politics. His post in Arylettopia is his first ambassadorship, but good things are expected from him, and he is determined to impress his superiors. He is very interested in new technology, and has adopted the musket of the new 'Dragon Corps' as his own weapon.

Special abilites: The ability to fire five rounds a minute in good weather, or four in poor conditions, which with a muzzle loading musket is impressive.
Pets/Companions: None

Name: Cas 'Castycal' Tical
Age: 169
Gender: Male
Occupation: Sorceror, Queen Arylett's Advisor

Personality: Cas is hopelessly panicky and overly-cautious, to the extent he can be very annoying. He is extremely wise and intelligent, spending days on end in his library-like tower rooms, studying magic and creating spells and potions. He is also rather secretive, and has many secrets concerning himself and the mysteries of Arylettopia which he does not reveal to anybody. He doesn't tend to get visibly angry, but when he is upset he tends to disappear for hours on end into his tower, where he mulls over things or tries to distract himself.
Appearance: Cas, despite his almost superhuman age, looks to be in his mid twenties due to a spell-gone-wrong at the extremely unlucky age of 23. He has light brown hair which reaches a point just below his shoulders, and large, bright green eyes. Recently he has taken to wearing a navy blue tunic underneath a long, dark red robe, and, of course, his magical cloak which shimmers with bands of rainbow colours. He wears a chain with a large, precious stone at the end - a stone which is the root of his magical powers. Without the necklace, he is nothing. The chain was previously pure gold, but recently he has taken a liking to dark silver, and so the current chain is made of that.
Brief history: Cas's parents are unknown to him, but he was born to a wandering sorceress who got lost around Twilake. her name was Asdefregtrehytrejukilo De Qwertyuiop, but to spare her son of the bizarre family name she named him directly after his grandfather. She died immediately after, and poor Cas was left to fend for himself in the wilderness. eventually, after five years of travelling, he came to Arylettopia, and was taken into an orphanage - but when he hid adulthood he was noted for his intelligence, and became a trainee sorceror. Eventually, he was recognised by the Queen for his wisdom, and chosen to become Advisor.

Similar to him, another boy was found to possess great cleverness - Thingy Horridus, who was soon apprenticed to Cas. However, Thingy, for reasons which Cas does not tend to reveal, tampered with dark magic, and ended up summoning a fraction of the darkness from Queen Arylett. He was consumed by that evil, and became the Horrid Thing.

And so Cas continued his duties as Advisor for many years, playing a part in the quest to recover the Golden Shards and helping in many an attack from the Horrid Thing... and, as he says, 'Life goes on'.

Special abilities: Cas is greatly learned in the arts of magic and mathematics (Although he would argue they are one and the same)
Pets/Companions: Spektra, a Spirit of Colour. He prefers to take the form of a rainbow-coloured beetle, about the size of Cas's hand, but can also become a much larger insect (for carrying passengers), a humanoid, a wyvern and a manta ray. Cas's cloak is also a part of Spektra, so to speak; Spektra will not die until both cloak and beetle are destroed. If just one is, the other half can re-create the lost one.

Name: Flareth von Karras/ The Firebird
Age:17
Gender:Female
Occupation:Normal townsperson (though very quiet and is usually in her house) by day, thief and assassin by night, in which she has the identity of THE FIREBIRD!

Personality: As Flareth, she is usually quiet but when provoked, she gets really angry. As The Firebird, she taunts people, is much more talkative, and is not evil, she's just doing her job. She gets hired for these things.

This note was found in her old house in a faroff village:
My life has been nothing but failures.
I've been trying to be perfect.
But every time, another failure.
Perhaps perfection is actually imperfection.

Villains, crooks, and murderers....they are the perfect ones.
This note was found days after she left her village, when someone got worried about her. She seemed to have lived alone most of her life. Believe it or not, her hair used to be red, also. No one is sure how her hair changed. Some say she bleached it, but others say, because of the note, she took a poison to kill herself, but she only fell into a coma and the poison had some effects on her body, like her hair color and cuts on her chest that never seemed to heal.
Special abilities: Believe it or not, Flareth has a whip hidden somewhere in a hidden pocket in her dress. No one knows this, until she tries to help the good guys. As The firebird, she has numerous knives and daggers hidden under her cloak. She has two giant swords strapped to her back.
Pets/Companions: A black fox with a white-tipped tail, named Damion.

Name: Angelo Velle
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Occupation: King of duskian

Personality: Jolly, Intelligent, Brave, Those are the words that describe him best. But when it comes to the protection of his family he will stop at nothing to keep them safe.
Appearance: He has platinum hair with a tint of grey. He is about 6' 2" and is pretty well-built. He has a scar on the right side of his face that goes from his cheekbone to just above his mouth, And he wears silver armour with a red and gold cape.
Brief history: After the quest for the golden shards and the death of chronos he has taken over the role of king of duskian and the king's powers over time. Soon after that he married dawn and had two children, Twins called Eth and Asuna. Both age 1 1/2.

Special abilities: Time manipulation/Time travel inside the duskian empire
Pets/Companions: A king cobra called ananke and Noscere, A black & white horse with gold and platinum armor.

Name: Blaise T'Ois II

Age: 34

Gender: Male

Occupation: Local librarian and mage of a medium-sized port town. (see History)

Personality: Somewhat distant around strangers, Blaise is a mostly quiet fellow, although he will argue a point he cares about. Blaise often corrects people, mostly when they write, which can get a bit annoying. Due to being the son of the Governor of the town where he lives, Blaise is quite unaffected by titles and such, although he still holds much respect for most of them, Her Royal Arylettness included. Avoids social situations involving new people. Somewhat idolizes Royal Advisor Castycal.

Appearance: Blaise has dark brown hair, worn whichever way he wakes up with, and glasses, which slightly magnify his blue eyes. He usually wears a grey or blue Ceondhilian tunic of some sort.

Brief history: Blaise grew up in Ceondhil, a city on the coast of Arylettopia. The Governor's son, Blaise lived in a small addition to Library. There, in his spare time, he studied magic. He then moved to Arylettopia to further his studies, and curently works at the Arylettopian Royal Library.

Special abilities: Skills in magic, mostly influencing objects. Examples include levitation, bringing statues and things to life for a short time, and making plants grow. Also knowledgable on many subjects, due to having much free time to read.

Pets/Companions: Some sort of blue blobbish thing (about the size of a Rubiks Cube) named Avala that can form herself into many different shapes. These shapes look like the bird in this video.

Name:Lucas Nadalas
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Occupation: Lord of Nadalasia, Royal Milkshaker of Arylettopia.

Personality: Lucas mostly takes his time to work things out, making sure there are no details missed, no circumstances unrecognized. Under high pressure, though, he is forced to rush and may make mistakes. He usually doesn't get very mad at people and not for very long. Overall, he's an even-tempered guy.
Appearance:He has dark brown hair slightly higher than his shoulders. Normally, he will wear a short cloak with a thin chain mail underneath. Usually wears sandals.
Brief history: After the event with the Golden Shards, life for Lucas has been rather uneventful. The frequent attacks by The Horrid Thing aren't considered eventful due to their frequency. He regularly visits Arylettopia to either fight the Horrid Thing (Something he has grown more adept at) or to see friends. At the moment, he is readying for another trip to Arylettopia.

Special abilities: Can add special enchantments to milkshakes to make them do fantastic things.
Pets/Companions: He now uses a young dragon for transportation, but uts fighting skills aren't up to par.

Name: King Ionius Phillip
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Occupation: King of Ionia, Royal Banker of Arylettopia, Royal General of Windia, Paladin

Personality: He is usually very calm, but if he is angered he will attack you and, if he is very angry, kill you. He is a good friend to others, but a horrible enemy to enemies. He would protect the Queens life or the life of any others, especially Nadalas and Skitta, with his own, but sometimes takes it too far and gets himself into situations that are very boring and he can only sit around forever and do nothing. He does have some feelings for Princess Skitta, but doesn't think she thinks the same thing about him.

Appearance: 6'4, he is well shapen, with broad shoulders and powerful legs. He wears silver chain-mail that is covered be a large sheet of golden armor. He has a longsword called 'Ionian Wrath' that he always keeps sheathed on his waist. This sword is magical, with the ability to be powered by some magic spells. He has taken to always wearing his ring, which amplifies his magic power and allows him to cast more powerful spells.

Brief history: He was born in Ionia to the Royal bloodline, and his father was killed mysteriously when he was 15, which was a horrid thing for him. He was next in line for the throne, so at the age of 16, he was coronated. During the brief 6 months between his fathers death and his coronation his fathers advisers were in charge, and the country went into a depression. He then ruled the happy country for many years, and then took a diplomatic trip to his neighboring country, Arylettopia. He found Arylett and her court so great and unique that he decided to have his brother become the king for now. He became part of Arylett's court, which opened trade with many other countries. After the Golden Shards incident he became afraid of steel bars and drunk men, due to his experience in Arylettopian jail. He is currently still undergoing therapy sessions to try and make him get over this fear. Other than that, he lives mainly in Arylettopia in the Castle. He helps attack the Horrid Thing every time it comes, and has a personal bone to pick with it, from back when he first fought it.

Special abilities: 'Ionian Wrath', a magical sword; his ring.
Pets/Companions: He has 2 Tigresses, but they are usually in Ionia and he only calls on them if he needs special help.

 

[Kinova]

Oh look it's me again. I'm pretty much using my original application, just with a few edits as this is later on, if that's okay.

Name: Kinova
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Nationality: Kinovian. :P

Occupation: Previously Prime Minister of Kinovaville (see bio); now a Fashion Knight of Arylettopia.

Personality: Kinova is generally friendly and quiet, though she has been known to have the occasional outburst towards an unfair situation or person. She is loyal to her friends and will try to help them out to her best ability. Kinova often becomes irritated at her lack of magical ability – she can be slightly jealous of those with it, although it’s more likely that she will simply resort to more unconvential means of attack or defense.

Appearance: She has dark red hair cut short around her ears, hazel eyes and a tendency to dress a bit too casually considering her job. She’s generally found in simple trousers and a shirt, which, if asked, she will insist is the most fashionable outfit around. Might sport her dubious fashion statement, the Kinovahat, on special occasions. She has a tiny star-shaped tattoo between the index finger and thumb of her right hand.

Brief history: Up until the age of sixteen she lived in the tiny country of Kinovaville (actually so tiny that it only has around fifty inhabitants) which is just off Arylettopia itself. The country was formed by a number of people from Arylettopia who never stopped complaining about their home country and decided to create and run their own (many of them were disappointed that no-one from Arylettopia noticed them leave). It was decided that the country would be named (and then renamed) after whoever was Prime Minister at the time. Kinova’s mother was the first Prime Minster, a job which was handed down to her daughter, age fifteen, where her mother was killed in a fire.
Bored out of her skull after listening to a year’s worth of trivial complaints from her citizens – "So-and-so borrowed my hedge trimmers last week and he hasn’t given them back D<" – Kinova packed up in the middle of the night and left for Arylettopia, where she landed the job (of questionable importance) Fashion Knight. Basically helping with the design of Arylettopian uniforms etc.
She has watched over the years as the Horrid Thing has become more frequent in the lives of the Arylettopians, particularly the Queen’s. The Thing’s visits have her concerned, and of late her Fashion Duties have gone unattended.

Special abilities: … none.
Pets/companions: None.
